Nobody has come out and said you can't so I put him as your save. I really don't see any good reason you shouldn't be able to.
-
This is everyone's save. I think this is final, unless something was decided and JVK is taking Andre instead. KrisZ - Georgia Championship Wrestling - Buzz Sawyer Beast - Jim Crocket Promotions - Ric Flair Jesse Ewiak - World Class Championship Wrestling - Kerry Von Erich DylanWaco - Portland Wrestling - Buddy Rose dkookypunk43 - Mid South Wrestling - Ted Dibiase TravJ1979 - Memphis Wrestling - Jerry Lawler Flyin Brian - International Championship Wrestling - Randy Savage Cross Face Chicken Wing - American Wrestling Association - Hulk Hogan JHawk - World Wrestling Association - Bobo Brazil JerryvonKramer - World Wrestling Federation - Andre the Giant Grimmas - Maple Leaf Wrestling - Greg Valentine El Boricua - World Wrestling Council - Carlos Colon Boon - South Eastern - Bob Armstrong RocketCrypt - Championship Wrestling from Florida - Dusty Rhodes goc - South Western - Tully Blanchard dawho5 - Montreal - Raymond Rougeau dedhemingway - Central States - Harley Race peachchaos - Stampede - Bret Hart Wahoos Leg - All Star Wrestling - Honkytonk Man I think we agreed that the only non-draftable freelancers are Bruiser Brody, Abdullah the Butcher, Mil Mascaras & The Sheik. Also women and mini's are going to be treated as traveling troupes and aren't able to drafted.
-
On the more obvious teams, there is no way you could get away with drafting one early and trying to take the other later. No one is going to let you get away with doing that with The Road Warriors or The Freebirds or The Fabs. And you definitely shouldn't have to take a team like Bobby Fulton & Terry Taylor together considering how short their run as a tag team is. The option to draft as a tag should be there but not a rule that you must.
-
No because not all teams are that closely linked together. Some of them would be split up in 6 months like The Midnight Express. RNR Express really hadn't been teaming all that long and weren't a big money team yet, they could easily have been separated. Plus if someone took Ricky Morton early then with so many other people in the draft, isn't it likely someone is going to take Robert Gibson before them just out of spite/strategy?
-
I'll vote for the half random/half snake option. Getting stuck in the very middle of a snake draft gets boring.
-
I really dug that mini Don Harris/Malice feud. But then I'm just a sucker for big dudes throwing bombs at each other. That first blood match was really weird though.
-
Let's just run a poll with 3 or 4 options and decide by vote how we do the draft order. Random/Snake draft/Half random, half snake/people with shitty save picks get earlier draft order/whatever else.
-
Does that mean you can take The Freebirds as a trio, forfeiting your next 2 picks?
-
I think people are confused by how long the freelancers list is. I wish it was split off into separate lists. There are only 3-4 actual freelancers. They wouldn't be traveling territory to territory every month unless essentially everyone decided "I'm not sharing when it's my turn."
-
The rotation thing won't work well if it gets bogged down with a whole bunch of stuff including women and mini's.
-
I liked Steve Williams a whole lot during his run as the top guy in UWF. Would have been interesting to see how he would have progressed as a top babyface in the U.S. if the UWF had been able to keep things going.
-
OH! I also think whoever is controlling Abby, Brody & I guess Mil should control whether or not they are allowed to do a job. So if I got Mil Mascaras for the month and you want to bring him in for a date, I am right off the bat going to tell you he isn't doing any jobs but yes you can have him.
-
It does stretch credibility slightly that all of the freelancers would work the same territory then switch to the same one every month. I would be careful with going this route too much. Well there really aren't that many, especially if JVK is allowed to keep Andre. Then you really only have Abby & Brody as true freelancers. Abby & Brody did kind of work like a touring feud at times.
-
So you suggest that every month the person in charge of handling the dates for the freelancers rotates. That could be a way to go. The only thing is that some months you'll get them almost entirely booked with Japan dates, so that may be needed to be taken into account. It's never going to be fair. No matter how we decide to do the freelancers everyone is not going to be able to get equal access.
-
I really think you should be able to do that but only if you take Andre as the save. Andre is a special case, he was clearly a guy who had his bookings controlled by Vince and he stops getting loaned out shortly after this starts anyway. But you would actually have to keep him and not just say "Hey I'll give you Andre for Ted" and be done with it.
-
If someone wanted to use them that way, I don't see a problem with it. I mean it's not like Abby & Brody never worked in the same territory together. Of course it could always come back and bite you later if you deny someone's request.
-
Might be interesting to just have a rotation. Everyone gets control of the freelancers for a month at a time and then it goes to the next person automatically without needing a redraft. This might create interesting dynamics like "if I deny this person's request for Brody is that going to come back and bite me later?" Have the rotation clearly spelled out so if I want to run an angle that has Brody coming in as a special partner in 2 months from now, then I could look and see who is going to have Brody at that time and work it out in advance. Then once an agreement is made on advance dates it could be posted in a freelancer thread that you could use as a reference of "Brody is in Japan until this date/Abby has 2 weeks in JCP, etc

I've never heard anything that corroborated that Robley story.

Here is a match with Magee vs. Tim Horner

You make that sound as if selling out The Garden is easy. I would think with it's massive population base to draw from it would be easier to fill than say, the 10,000 seat Mid-South Coliseum on a weekly basis.
-
I like this but only if you draft him or save him. He shouldn't come free with your territory.
-
Does he not have the singles matches to go with all his awesome trio work? He doesn't get pimped as a top tier guy but he stands out in every match I have seen him in. Not even Satanico has that good of a trio track record at least from my limited viewing. The only singles match he had on the lucha set was with Satanico and it finished in my top 10.

I hope that this will encourage everyone to compete for 1983's Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic award:

I agree with El Boricua about the freelancers. There really aren't that many of them when you get down to it it's mostly just Brody, Abby & Andre, and even Andre is iffy since he was not truly a freelancer and just perpetually on loan from Vince McMahon Sr. I think JVK should be able to take Andre with his save if he wanted to.
