  1. I had taken Duggan off of my board after seeing how the draft was going, especially seeing that dkookypunk was picking ahead of me in the 3rd. He is a little bigger than my ideal Tully foil but I couldn't pass him up.
  2. Southwest Championship Wrestling is somewhat shocked to announce it's signing of "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan Dedhemmingway & Central States have the next pick.
  3. I was sure dkookypunk was going to take another Mid-South all star. Didn't see Muraco going to him at all. Muraco wasn't on my board but that might put someone else on mine who I didn't think I'd snag...

    1983 Rulebook

I know everyone is wanting to get started ASAP but with 18 people in the draft in different time zones & different continents there's probably just no good way to get it done faster. I'd rather everyone be get their chance to draft and possibly have to push back the July, 1st start date rather than try and rush it through.
  6. If Lawler couldn't get one at Elimination Chamber 2011 against The Miz then no one should.
  7. Truth is a guy I often wonder about. I am not sure if he would have developed more into a true main event talent in the ring if he had been given a longer run at the top in TNA, although I would like to think so. But I really don't know because he had a PPV main event with John Cena in 2011 that I feel is probably Cena's worst PPV main event. In my TEW game I chose the optimistic route however and slow built him & Monty Brown for the first 9 months or so while letting Jarrett take the title off Shamrock and have a chickenshit run and then was off to the races with Truth & Monty as my two top guys once I had Jarrett drop the belt in March 2003 to Monty.

    1983 Managers

I don't really want him, was just wondering if he can be drafted. I haven't gotten to the part in my watching yet but Chris Love seems like a really bad fit for Tully anyway.
  9. A wrestler who "deserves" a World Title run. Reading stupid shit over on WF.com about how Kane "deserves" another run with the WWE Title because he's been there a long time and suffered a lot of bad booking and thus "deserves" one more title run before he retires. The only person who "deserves" the title is the guy who can make the most money with it/draw the most interest. You could argue that isn't Rollins but it's definitely not Kane. Where do you stop with the "deserves it" line of thinking? Basically "The World Title as an employee service award" line of thinking irritates the shit out of me.

What about Chris Love? The 1983 WON Yearbook has an entry for June 13th of "Tully Blanchard wins the Southwest Title from Bob Sweetan when his manager, Chris Love, hit Sweetan with his purse"
  11. In the spirit of helping increase the national presence of certain regional stars, Southwest Championship Wrestling is offering time on it's nationally televised program shown on the USA Network on Sunday mornings at 11 A.M. to those who would like to promote a certain star with a squash match or video highlight. We could also have announcer Steve Stack hype your big upcoming event. In exchange I would only ask for a monetary donation to help me pay my $7000 a week fee and keep from having to sell the program to another wrestling promotion that may have less generous ideas of how the wrestling business should work. In lieu of monetary payment I would accept 1 or 2 dates on top talent.

Seems like a better geographical fit for WWA or AWA perhaps.

    Roman Reigns

I don't disagree with what you said in the Nomination thread, he is a better candidate than a lot of people that have been nominated. I don't think he's actually a top 100 wrestler though. I strongly suspect he will be given the right opportunities.
  14. I am at least turning down the panic button now as I've made a list of 6 guys that I would be happy with drafting in the 3rd round and being able to lose 5 of them to the people ahead of me would be alright because I know I likely wouldn't get more than 1.
  15. Let's all agree not to send freelancers to Georgia.
  16. KrisZ is now on the clock. Stop running searches about who ran Ohio on what date and make your pick.

I guess it's ridiculous if you want to ignore that they were already running those towns regularly in July, 1983 while WWF wasn't. And that the promoter of Georgia succinctly told you "You run your towns I'll run mine" to which you responded asking him about running towns such as Cincinatti & Dayton which you have not run before in arenas you've never been in. Ignoring those things, it IS ridiculous. Not quite as ridiculous as a Northeast territory claiming something all the way out on the West Coast though. Something like that would make you think the WWF had national aspirations.

I am glad that I could have a helping hand in seeing what could have turned into a catastrophic territory war get peacefully resolved.

The health of the wrestling business, which is dependent on not having territory wars, is more important than any affiliation to NWA, AWA or otherwise.

I would also like to state that comments, or even perhaps threats such as this really have no place in what is simply a conversation between promoters over who should run what town. As an outsider to the NWA organization, I think I have standing as a partial mediator.

I couldn't find attendance for "The Breakaway in Akron, Ohio" but judging by the other arenas GCW was running in Ohio I am assuming it held more than the Copley High School Gym. I would say that should give GCW the town. Assuming we confirm the higher capacity of The Breakaway.

High School Gyms & Music Halls seems pretty small potatoes compared to the 5,500 seat Hara Center, the 6,500 seat Ohio Center, not to mention the Riverfront arena that sat 17,00 people.

That's odd. There are all these results from cagematch.net that say GCW and locations in Ohio. Dates and locations such as these:

Ohio is Georgia's until WWF INVADES their territory in October. Or do you want to dispute Dave Meltzer's 1983 Yearbook which states for October 8th "Vince McMahon's WWF goes into Georgia cities touching off a feud throughout Ohio. McMahon opens up to 2300 in Cincy and 2000 in Dayton" Does the WWF plan on invading KrisZ's secondary market of Ohio then?

I like that. Maybe 3 head to heads and the loser has to stay out for at least a year.
