  1. Flair steps back and really lets Bischoff talk in part 2. It was pretty good. I have no idea if some of the things Bischoff says is BS or not, but he does admit to mistakes in the past and comes across as a decent guy.
  2. I'm out and completely turn over the AWA to rainmakerrtv. He has done an excellent job and if this game continues, I know he'll maintain the AWA as the best promotion in the game and sell a ton of booty underwear. Best of luck to everyone who continues on with this game. It was fun interacting with many of you. If we ever resurrect my idea of making this effort more draft-based instead of booking-based, I'd definitely want to participate. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, this post should sum it up.
  3. I still enjoy Flair's podcast, but I think I'd enjoy it more if he didn't have guests. The guests on Flair's pod are kind of like male actors in a porno. They're more like props. Flair literally could give a shit what his guests have to say. All he does is cut them off to tell drinking stories. Eventually, Conrad reels Flair in a bit and gets in a few questions before Flair wakes back up with another tale of boozin' and whorin'. Now, I love Flair talking about his past escapades. Which is why I think just making each podcast 45 minutes of Flair telling old road stories mixed in with the occasional wrestling-related behind-the-scenes question from Conrad would make the podcast even better.
  4. Do you guys remember how long WCW was on KMSP in the Twin Cities? The little kid version of me watched AWA religiously on Sunday mornings on KMSP, but I don't remember WCW taking the time slot......
  5. Did Flair or Conrad hold his feet to the fire on anything? Or did they play nice? (I'm asking because I don't want to listen to this one.)
  6. Ahhh.....I missed that in a search to see if someone had posted a thread on this topic before. Feel free to add my post to that old thread if it makes more sense......
  7. I believe it matters, but how much? Is match order simple fodder for us fans/armchair QBs to easily obsess about? Or can it make a measurable difference in taking a show from average to good, good to great, great to epic? An analogy I'll use is batting orders in baseball. Fans obsess over their favorite team's batting order. Who should lead off? Who should hit cleanup? Why is this guy hitting seventh instead of fifth? It's easy fodder for talk radio and blog posts. Most studies show that batting order does make a difference, but not nearly the difference most fans think it does. It definitely doesn't make enough of a difference to justify the amount of ink spilled and words spewed about the topic. Will kept harping on the match order of Summer Slam during the recap podcast. I didn't disagree that the match order could have been tweaked, but I don't think it would have made that much of a difference in the show. That crowd sucked. I don't think an altered match order would have generated better crowd responses in certain situations.
  8. This crowd sucks.
  9. WWE let the PR department book the finish to Cena/Rollins.
  10. Mailbag game: Design new artwork for Kamala's belly.
  11. LOL. Then what? Taker exits the ring meekly with the segment having served no point? I think the day he retires completely from the ring is the day he either 1. Stops being the Undertaker and from that point on is known as Mark Calloway, WWE legend or 2. Vanishes from WWE tv forever. It's awkward silence when the entrance ends and he has to actually wrestle. It won't be any more of an awkward silence when his entrance ends and he just saunters back to the locker room. I'm telling you, this would get over huge!
  12. Who would object if Brock goes over clean on Undertaker and instead of wrestling at Mania, Taker has his own special retirement ceremony/HOF induction during Mania instead of the night before, and every Mania from now to eternity features a 10-minute segment where Taker does his entrance? Everybody wins: Taker is retired by a legit badass who's over as hell, inducting Taker during Mania will be a nice Mania moment, fans will still get to see the Taker entrance and spectacle every Mania because that's what they want to see in the first place, not Taker still trying to wrestle.
  13. Despite all the Kamala bashing, this was another top-notch show.
  14. Have you ever played Face to the Mat from Plaay.com, JR? http://plaay.com/facetothemat.html Thoughts?
  15. To all who are feeling burnt out: Verne wants me to inform everyone that he is available for motivational speaking for the low low price of $375 per hour, travel expenses and a case of Grain Belt beer. A three-hour pep talk from Verne, complete with flip charts, role-play exercises and jokes that were already racist/sexist in the 1970s but still make Verne laugh in 1985 is sure to re-charge anybody's batteries. Let me know if you're interested and I can check Verne's calendar for availability.
  16. The AWA would like to welcome Precious to the Twin Cities region.
  17. Some sleuthing last night turned up this great TNM7 site: http://www.joshism.net/tnm/tnm.html I also downloaded a 30-day trial, but since the game doesn't run on a modern version of Windows, you have to run it through a program called DOSBox. Gave that a try, and I got the game to install and load up, but it's really clunky. Oh well.....
  18. I don't remember this one, but it sounds like it was created by Vince Russo
  19. I demand an entire podcast dedicated to Zeus at Summer Slam and I demand that the podcast to run no less than 3 hours.
  20. The more I think about it, TNM, along with OOTP Baseball, was my gateway into PC simulation games. All kinds of great memories and a crazy fun game.
  21. For some reason I'm on a wrestling simulator kick this weekend...... I remembered having a PC wrestling simulator called TNM back in the late 90s. I googled it, and whaddyaknow, it's still around! But Jesus Christ, for TNM7 and all the plugins, it's $65. Yes, $65! When I had TNM back in the day, I think it might have been free.... The website also appears to have last been updated in 2012, so I wonder if the sim makers even support the product any more. I also couldn't find an email address for customer support to inquire about a demo or trial period. I wasted a good chunk of time on TNM back in the day. Interesting to see that the product is still out there.
  22. Toyed around a bit w/ Legends of Wrestling tonight and thought it was a little clunky (I get confused easily, however). Just starting a trial version of Wrestling's Finest and the intro screen w/ the MX music is outstanding!
  23. How would you rank and compare it to some of the the wrestling sims you own/play? It seems a little spendy......
  24. I used to watch a lot of wrestling on our bedroom TV before falling asleep. It was a nice way to wind down after the day and the wife was able to fall asleep with the TV on. I don't know if it's old age or what, but for the last couple of years I can barely make it through a match before clunking out. This isn't the case just for wrestling....anything I watch on our bedroom TV before falling asleep knocks me out within 5-10 minutes. This unfortunate development has seriously slowed down my wrestling watching, but I still manage to fit in at least an hour or two of week.
  25. Anybody ever try "Wrestling's Finest"? It supposedly started as a board game but has been converted to PC. http://wetommyv3332.tumblr.com/
