Side note. I thought the Takahashi/Lee match was going to be on this show and I was super disappointed when I realized it wasn't.

My enjoyment level starts to decrease past the 30 minute mark no matter what. I'm about a fourth of the way through the show. Nothing has been amazing but it's been a fun show.

You guys got me through a bunch of boring days of work. Thanks for all the fun. -
I went in, put guys where I thought they should be. Then I started filling in the gaps. So guys moved up and down as I looked at nominations and weighed them against the guys that I hadn't ranked yet. So someone like Spanky started at 25 and moved up a few spots as I found people I thought he was better than. Plus I had forgotten a lot of acts. Like I forgot the Havana Pitbulls which moved Rocky Romero way up my list.

Well, given the rumors of Nikki Bella retiring after Wrestlemania, who knows if hell will freeze over and Cena proposes to Nikki after their match. They would sell this as a wedding even bigger than Randy Savage & Miss Elizabeth at Summerslam 1991. Man, I'd love that just for it getting booed out of the building Lesnar coming out in a tux and giving Cena the F5 would be pretty hilarious.
-
I would consider that to be good news.
-
That's what I don't get. They go on and on about bullshit manufactured Mania moments. What would be better than a bloody John Cena finally conquering his rival from the past year?
-
My wife is a casual viewer in that she watches the big shows with me. I told her about Reigns/Taker and Goldberg/Lesnar and her response was to ask "why?" in a very disgusted tone.

I think the problem is the build up isn't organic anymore. The promotion builds a certain way from post-Mania to the Rumble. Then they toss it all on it's head because they have to work in the part timers. So in the past you would have a big blow off for Cena/Styles at Mania but now that has to end somewhere else because Mania isn't meant for that match anymore.

I disagree. You have all sorts of flavors of wrestling with some real exposure out there already and they all seem to top out fanbase wise. Even ECW back in the day. The height of its exposure was a million people watching it on TV and drawing 6,000 fans to a show. Tons of buzz but they never had a huge fanbase. Look at all of the promotions that come along and get somewhat of a foothold. They can never break that million or million and a half barrier. Listen to interviews with TNA wrestlers where fans just think they stopped wrestling. I see it in my day to day life. There are some avid WWE fans in my office. I mean watch everything, go to ever show, etc. but they have no appetite for wrestling outside of that. Most of them have never heard of Ring of Honor and its been on TV here for years. I just don't think there is a fan base out there for something new. The old school guys also watch MMA instead of wrestling now.

I really wish they would have tossed their formula out of the window and had Cena/Styles in a TLC at Mania.
-
I agree with that. The crowd would have shit all over Orton winning otherwise I think.

Reigns being #30 is kind of like asking your parents for an NES for Christmas and getting a Sega Master System or Atari 7800 instead. he lost though! I know Wreddit/et al hate Roman but the idea of hating him so much that him losing a match ruins a show for you is just incredible. I didn't really give a shit other than he's a bore and I don't care about anything he does. I'm just describing the fact that people were disappointed in it.

I was thinking they would do that with her as champion so they could have Bayley beat her at Mania. But I was being logical.
-
I had a good laugh at the play by play guy having to sit out there and call a few matches shirtless until Nagata was nice enough to bring him a shirt.
-
You mean Roman eliminating Jericho, who did NOTHING in this match, resting outside for quite some time, is a factor of why he's been hated? Jericho having a string of long, meaningless participations in Royal Rumble matches has got to be my least favorite trend in wrestling. He's one of those guys I could never see again and be okay with it. But there are a lot of people in WWE that are falling into that category for me.
-
It struck me that the way they booked Roman for the Rumble is why everyone hates him. People don't like him because they don't think he deserves his push. So you give him the easiest path to winning the Rumble. And then you have him eliminate the guy that had been busting his ass for 60 minutes and doing it the hard way. Why is he a face again?

I feel like this is the 2nd or 3rd time in the last 5 or 6 years where I was really enjoying the direction of the company and then they completed derailed everything because it was Mania season and the real stars needed the ball for the big show.
-
This is why I can never enjoy Randy Orton. Because I know they are always waiting to sneak him back into the main event picture where I don't want him to be.
-
All of these new and interesting guys on the roster right now and Cena has the World Title and Orton just won the Royal Rumble.
