I still read Scott Keith. He has similar tastes to mine as far as the WWF style goes. I find no use for him with anything else.
-
I think because people have come to expect that from the WWF. I just can't bring myself to care after the last few years.
-
I agree. I've always heard it takes 2-3 weeks for buyrates to get compiled.
-
I can't believe that he was the first guy they hired after they released 15 guys in the fall. He's just a waste of money and time. He's taking up a lot of time and is not really that over. No one would pay to watch the guy yet he gets at least a segment a week.
-
Have you ever reviewed a three hour PPV? It takes a looong time.
-
He had a post about a week or two ago and basically said he was getting sick of Raw and was considering just doing PPVs for awhile. I guess this is his way of keeping interest.

I noticed that Triple H and Viscera had zero heat when they came out tonight as well. I think I heard the collective eye roll from the audience when it was clear that Triple H was going to get involved with the new arrival. Chris Masters is just bad all around. The challenge was just a doomed concept. The first strike against it is he isn't offering near enough money to interest someone to come into the ring and get beaten up. It's straight out of the 70s and 80s when he was carrying around $1000 like it was some grand some of money. Add to that that he's nothing special build wise and he's off to a bad start. I won't even go into how a full nelson is almost always a surefire way to be a failure as a wrestler.

They didn't learn a year from last year's Diva Search. The fans totally rejected it but since Vince thinks it's a good idea you'll get one every year and every year it'll suck up lots of time because the federation is booked to entertain Vince McMahon and no one else.
-
Looks like Smackdown is going to be lucky to have a title let alone any main eventers by the way this is going.
-
I admit it would be slighly funny if he drove out to the ring with a dead hooker in the trunk of his limo.
-
Well he can get away with anything. He's friends with the right people and Vince likes the gimmick so he can do whatever he wants as long as he doesn't get caught murdering a hooker on the 6 o clock news.
-
Probably the fact that they had to hire him back due to fan backlash.
-
I'm sure that will mean he's getting a year run with the WWF Title. I mean he got what a 10 month reign for goose stepping in Germany.
-
Proving once and for all that ECW fans were some of the dumbest people around.
-
Not really. You roll dice for moves and reactions depending on their stats. The first set had about 24 of the wrestlers in it and then you get a new set with 12 more every year or so. This is all with the wrestler's permission BTW.
-

Things you've liked about wrestling this year:
Mad Dog replied to Coffey's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
I've enjoyed Impact! for the most part. There's been some clunker shows but they manage to get a good match in there once or twice a month. TNA in general has been enjoyable during this year, minus most of March. WWF has been a wasteland for the most part and I try to avoid the shows as much as possible. Velocity was doing some good stuff until March but then they decided to ruin that show with hosses. -
I would doubt it. He'd have to do a lot of work on his selling to even think about Japan. I doubt he would deal with the extended mat work well.

Because Angle stands with the hold instead of doing it like Ken Shamrock did.
-
I could buy the anklelock being a killer finisher but he basically gets the submission by appling the hold until the guy tapes. That's bad work because it means your doing the same move over and over. Even working over the knee would be better than the nothing you get.

So I see a lot of "Kurt Angle is one of the all time greats" you know the usually crap people say. I've usually just chalked this up inexperienced fans who don't know any better. Meltzer and his HOF voters have already made him a WON HOFer. The faults with Angle that I see are the following: 1. He's only wrestled in the WWF style. I've come to refer to the WWF style as "wrestling for dummies" because it's meant to cover up bad workers. The current great workers on the roster like Guerrero could go to any fed and immediately hold their own in different styles. Angle hasn't been given this chance but he's only good at one style. 2. Mic skills aren't that great. I thought he was pretty good on the mic during his first 6 months but when they started tweaking his character a bit he seemed to fall apart. His delivery is pretty varied as he can go from a methodical pace to being a motormouth in a matter of seconds. He's also inefficient with his words. When he does a longer promo it comes across like a Senator using a filibuster but Triple H is still by far the worst offender in this department 3. In ring he needs an experienced worker to reign him in. I say this because Angle likes to just throw bomb after bomb without taking the time to sell without a Mysterio or Guerrero in there. Remember last year he complained after Summerslam because Guerrero wanted to sell moves and it upset him because he wanted to go on to the next move. He also tends to steal other workers signature spots which annoys me personally. Match wise there are a lot of things that hurt him. He overuses a lot of his moves. There are some matches where you'll see him use the same belly to belly suplex a few times and go for the anklelock several times. His selling goes from bad to good depending but then Shawn Michaels is considered a great worker despite his awful selling. The big shot against Angle is his Iron Man match with Brock Lesnar. Here was his big chance to breakout of the WWF style a bit and show he could fill up an hour. He failed miserably at it. He showed a complete inability to work that long. I'll defend him a bit since you could watch Shawn Michaels completely fall apart during the second half of his Iron Man with Bret Hart. That's all I've got to start. I'll probably have more to write later on.

It's unfair to judge anyone by their WWF work. There are plenty of guys who are completely different workers when they can break out of the WWF style. Just look at D'Lo Brown's TNA run in 2003. I think if Benoit quit tomorrow and went back to Japan you'd see a big improvement.

It's not surprising considering the kids are getting Woman's genes.
