  1. I'll take it to my grave that Kobashi was the least of the four. Taue gets shit on for not being as dynamic as the other guys, which makes the nickname "Dynamic T" that much more awesome. I don't know if I think Taue's the best, as Kawada is the best seller I've ever seen and Misawa is the quintessential ace in my eyes, but I'm wondering if I'll be the high vote on Taue in the GWE poll.
  2. Via the '90's threads: Miracle Violence Connection Dustin Rhodes and Barry Windham Southern Boys Owen Hart and Yokozuna
  3. It's weird to think that a team actually revolutionized television wrestling in 2012-2014, but was there any team/group better from the moment they first teamed to their final match together against Evolution? Reigns and Rollins vs. the Rhodes Brothers at Battleground was a great match with a hot crowd that saved that bullshit PPV for me. The 6-mans are too many to name, really. I'd love to find room for them on the list, but they aren't shoe-ins like some of the other teams.
  4. They had a really tremendous "Before they were LCO" match against Toyota and Yamada on 1/24/94 that stands as one of the best non-Kansai/Ozaki tag matches Toyota and Yamada ever had. But I'm with Jerome, here. They were definitely one of the great heel teams of the decade and stand out amongst the go-go-go stuff that was so pervasive in joshi. I think I'm gonna have room for them on my list, but it's going to be tough.
  5. I like these guys way more than the Funks, but want to see a bit more of them before I make a decision about them being on the list. Even in their later years when they were getting chased by Steamer and Youngblood, they could still go, so they've intrigued me.
  6. Of the early AJPW RWTL stuff, I thought Dory was way better in a tag setting, but him slowing things down after what Funk would do in some of those great brawls threw me off too much. I think he was a fine, totally capable worker, but I don't think I could see these guys making my list when the team dynamic worked a lot better within other teams that even featured lesser workers.
  7. A lot of their stuff doesn't hold up that well, but they were very good garbage wrestlers that used plunder effectively. Good promos, but not what I'm putting a lot of stock in on a list like this. Won't make it.
  8. I want to find some space for them on my list because they were probably my favorite ECW act ever and they could go. I could see them getting in at the bottom of my list.
  9. Sasha/Becky is a legit MOTYC and might be in my Top 5. Someone gave an Ozaki comp to Sasha Banks and I about marked the fuck out for that stepping armbar. Absolutely nasty looking. She's surpassed Charlotte for sure, but I'm hoping she and Charlotte get one more match together at some point. The one thing I didn't like about the main was that they did that whole ref thing at the end again and didn't really determine if the match was over or not. They did a great job setting up the shoulder issue with Zayn (much like they did with Itami) and Owens is the best menacing heel I've seen in a long time. He's added a ton to it in such a short time it's mindblowing. I agree that Joe's music wasn't the best, but man, when he walked out and threw the towel down, I was excited as all hell. Owens/Joe is gonna be legitimately incredible, especially with Joe having really put in work in the last couple of months to get in shape. Hopefully Owens' balky knee allows him to get in shape, too, because they're gonna really have to come up huge. I think I'm out on Balor at this point, too. The entrance is cool, but he's going through the motions in many ways. He's also quickly becoming a bit overshadowed with what's happening at the top of the card, and I don't really see how he's going to fit in other than just lining up to job to Owens again. You wonder if the NXT top guys getting shots at Cena is going to lead to something over the summer that plays into SummerSlam somehow, but with Zayn out, along with Itami (who it seems was going to be the guy to get the title shot had he not gotten injured) you wonder who's gonna get left behind if Owens actually gets the push to the main roster full time. Joe seems like someone who won't be at NXT for long, either. Suffice to say, the interest level for me is at an all-time high.
  10. I think a lot of it is how he sputtered out with WWE not taking him due to medical issues and then the TNA Hep B diagnosis. I still have vivid memories of the Driven match in my head. Watched it twice and thought it was an incredible match just due to how hard he and Bryan worked and the lengths they went to in order to play off their previous matches. When he decided to just start ripping off peoples heads with the lariat, he had found his niche, but he DID have the tendency to go overboard at times. I'd say he was a top worker for at least three years, maybe four depending on how people liked his Euro-heavy stuff before he became The Man in ROH.
  11. I still think the conspiracy theory that he's trying to gather support around him before going to Vince and getting him ousted holds water. Or if it isn't in place, he's thought about it before.
  12. In the early days of ROH, he was a Top 5 worker in my eyes behind Dragon, Lo Ki, Styles and Joe. I echo Dylan's sentiments about him being underrated because we thought he might get a bigger push than he did, but his stuff with Spanky was really fun and I actually liked the Kidman feud, as the No Mercy match might have been Kidman's best match ever and has one of the great SSP meeting the knees spots ever. He's one of the guys who I wonder what would have happened if he actually hadn't gone to WWE, because I think he matched up well with all the great workers that got big time indy runs in the mid 2000s. I'm not sure he'll make my list, but he's got a better case than many might think.
  13. Wanted to get this thread started now because of some news that broke a couple hours ago from a wReddit insider that got picked up by SBNation: http://www.sbnation.com/2015/5/15/8613721/samoa-joe-wwe-rumors-debut-nxt-takeover-unstoppable Pretty sure it's the right move, and with all the injuries that have been sustained, he's coming in at a very opportune time. THE CARD: NXT Championship Kevin Owens © vs. Sami Zayn NXT Women’s Championship Sasha Banks © vs. Becky Lynch NXT Tag Team Chcampionship Blake & Murphy © vs. Enzo Amore & Big Cass #1 Contender’s Match Finn Balor vs. Tyler Breeze Bayley & Charlotte vs. Dana Brooke & Emma Baron Corbin vs. Rhyno
  14. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/search?q=pirata+morgan Good start here, go with the Great and Epic matches on the list.

    Sami Zayn

He's basically the Ricky Steamboat of this era, as even with an unlikable prick like Steen, he was getting cheered when presented as a heel team back in the team's early ROH days. He's someone I'm really hoping I can find room for just because he's at least enjoyable in his indy work, if not outright great at times (mainly in PWG) and has had one hell of an NXT run. Of the 2000 and beyond guys, he's one that I'm considering.

    Cesaro

Not much has changed with Cesaro, unfortunately, and he's looking like he'll be outside the list when it's all said and done. I really do like his tag work, and he's had some pretty cool singles standout matches, but he's mixed in with a whole bunch of other guys that I'm considering at the bottom of my list and I can't think of many things he's done that will outshine some of them. That being said, I REALLY hope he proves me wrong because he's one of the few guys that I'll set time aside for.
  17. One thing that has me leaning towards putting AJ on there is that in the two years or so he's had since leaving TNA full-time, he's really been one of the best wrestlers in the world. A lot of the guys that are being considered here that are non-WWE guys don't have that track record, and even the Japanese contingency really doesn't hold up that well in the end. Some of that may be recency bias, but he's looking more and more like a lock the more I see him.
  18. I think he got cringeworthy stiff to the point where it was dangerous at times, like Low-Ki stiffing your random indie scrubs, and it was in a way that was too much at points for me. I'm not sure how well his stuff has held up considering I last watched Super Dragon Evolution like four years ago, but in PWG, he has an aura unlike anyone else, really, and he did have some electric match-ups before the injuries shut him down. I don't think he'll make my 100, but he's someone to consider if you're big into the indies right after the boom, as he really was probably the biggest guy that didn't work a major East Coast indie that much.
  19. So what was the Narita Nightmare again? I'm foggy on what happened.
  20. TEJANO KAHN, BABY!!!! And this is the second time this week my love for Texas has been questioned. I'm kicking myself for missing the Brody question, but then again, I hate Brody.
  21. Yeah, basically Ciampa could make money going all over the place but he was hoping that with the money being thrown at the Briscoes that he could be an ROH exclusive. So when he wanted a bit more, they said no. I don't think he's a top-tier name with ROH, anyways, so it's not a big deal. I think he'll make PWG his main base going forward.
  22. DDP was the first guy I thought of. Really odd to think of where he was, getting in the game late and then becoming a star. I almost want to say Dario Cueto, but that's just good casting.
  23. I think the problem I had with this match was that it really didn't get into anything that enjoyable until the stretch run. I did like the finish with the KRD payoff and I thought even with Fish's knee issue they did a good job working around it, but I'm not sure it's a top-flight tag match. I considered it, but I think ROH has had a surprisingly good amount of stuff this year and this is in the tier below their best.
  24. I was there live for it. It was basically 15 minutes of them beating the shit out of each other and has one of the nastiest finishes I've ever seen, and I won't spoil it unless it does show up somewhere. There were cameras there taping it but APW is notoriously bad about releasing footage.
  25. Haven't seen too much this year, but from various outlets: WWE/NXT: RR 3-way, Owens/Zayn, Reigns/Lesnar NJPW: Okada/Fale, Nak/Ibushi, Ibushi/Styles, Ishii/Honma ROH: Bullet Club 6-man (2/14), Styles/ACH (13th Anniversary), Styles/M. Briscoe, maybe El Patron/Daniels. Indies: Thatcher/Hero, Thatcher/End, Thatcher/Cobb vs. Reno Scum (APW - March) Gun to my head, spectacles are my bag, so Reigns/Lesnar is tops, but being live at Thatcher/Hero is going to challenge it. Need to watch the PWG shows and a couple matches that are being highly pimped, but this has been a pretty good first four months so far.
