He'll be on my list for sure. One of the best big men ever. For as much praise as Bigelow got, Blackwell was better in basically every way. His match with Lawler in 1981 is one of my favorite Lawler matches ever and it's because of Blackwell's performance.
-
Only have seen a couple matches of his, but O'Connor was a tremendous worker for his time. Rogers/O'Connor from June 1961 is as good as it got for the time period and is one of my favorite matches of all time.
-
If the Chicago stuff is any indication, Verne's stock is rising in my eyes. Really paints a good picture of him as a worker. He'll probably be on there when it's all said and done.
-
I nominated Dump and I could see Abby make it thanks to his non-US stuff. Just a force of nature. Might make the bottom of my list.
-
Is there much of Patterson out there? Has a reputation as a good hand and supposedly his work with Ray Stevens is all-time worthy stuff. Did much of San Francisco ever make tape?
-
The Valentine feud is an all-timer and I liked his stuff in the late 80's in the NWA. Thought he brought a lot to the Starrcade '87 cage match against Flair, even if the ending wasn't in doubt and the crowd wasn't a big fan. Not sure he has enough high-end stuff, though, as the Valentine feud would have to heavily weigh on his candidacy.
-
Giving him some serious consideration due to his AWA stuff. Want to see some of his other pre-WWF stuff, too. Totally could see him on this list.

Dick was always a favorite of mine. The Clash VIII tag match was great and I always thought he was one of the best stooges ever. I can see someone putting him on their list as a favorite pick, but I'm not sure if I'll have enough room for him.
-
Another one of my old favorites but don't think he has the stuff to make it either. When going through some WCW stuff recently I didn't like too much of his work. He definitely has his highlights, but I don't see him making my list.
-
Not seeing it. Doesn't really have the resume that stands up to the all-time greats that will be on here. That being said, his work with Barry Horowitz in 1995 is some of my favorite stuff from the time period. Always have a soft spot for Candido, but can't see him making my list.

An interesting candidate who really only has a few tag matches and some deathmatches to her name when it comes to top-end matches, but she performed well in those matches. The 5/5/96 match vs. Ozaki is one of the best deathmatches ever, male or female. I don't think she has enough to get her on my list, but she has enough highlights that make you think for a bit.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3
Timbo Slice replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
It was weird to see a mask vs. mask wrestled straight up like that (the Cometa/Cavernario hair vs. hair was like that, too) but it was really well executed. Built to the big spots well, made Atlantis look like a demigod with him kicking out of all of UG's big stuff, and the out-of-nowhere finish was tremendous. I liked the tag match alright for the Rush/Casas interactions, but the main event is definitely a MOTYC for me. -
Another great what-if is what would have happened had he not gotten hurt during his WCW run. He was really working hard and putting on some good matches and I would have liked to see what kind of bookend he could have put on his career. Babyface Martel is one of the best baby faces ever in my opinion. I haven't seen any of the Portland stuff but I loved a lot of his AWA stuff. He's gonna be considered.

I was going to have him on my list because of the Villano III match and me just generally enjoying him in random matches I've seen him in, but I'm with Phil on tonight's match helping his case. A real treat to watch and even though he wasn't as active in the match as UG was, his timing was tremendous. Can't see him not making my list.

Bryan wasn't handcuffed by the tag formula. If anything, there was a stretch where he facilitated a change in how tag wrestling should be done in the WWE. Once The Shield got involved, he was the guy in tags in 6-mans that ended up shining, which gave way to Rollins and Goldust and a bunch of other guys having big moments in tag matches that took it out of the WWE norm at the time.

That Jumbo match was horrible. I remember watching it and couldn't believe that comeback even happened. Not because it was good, but because I couldn't believe that's how the match actually ended. Parv is right on. He made the decision to coast. Not seeing it.

It is. He's just saying Taue wasn't worthy of being a part of the group. Anyone thinking Misawa carried Taue to those matches in '95 has blinders on. This is my common point when it comes to Taue and other wrestlers of his ilk: Because of who he worked with, he's always considered as someone who was carried to greatness. That's as big a misconception as there can be in professional wrestling. That's like saying the Nagata match was because of Nagata. Or the Kobashi TC match was because of Kobashi. No way am I going to believe that. I'll totally agree with the sentiment of who's better in a match, but that doesn't automatically mean the other guy was carried or could be replaced easily with someone else.

He's had some crackers over the last few years, but I don't think it's enough to get him on the list. The next time we all decide to do this, I have a feeling he'll be right there, though.
-
Was just coming to post that. Looks like Steen and Devitt keep their names, which is cool. Glad they mentioned Adam Cole, too.
-
No chance. Why he decided to go the route he did in his ring style is beyond me. As much a fan as I was of his at first, the more I watched him, the more I stopped enjoying him.
-
Need to see his Mid-South run to give him any type of shot because I was never a fan of what he did in the WWF or WCW.
-
Not wild on him. In the great matches he was a part of, I never felt he was the guy making it great. Felt he was along for the ride most of the time. One of the best garbage workers of his time, but I can't put him on the list.
-
He has some absolutely huge highlights. I lean big on performing well in big matches and Brock is as good as they come. He's a lot like Volk Han to me, in the sense that we don't have a lot of him, but he has a lot of good stuff in a small amount of work. It's not Han-level stuff, but I have no issues with someone putting him on their list. Very interesting contender.

ECW run was terrific. He always worked hard. Was one of the reasons why I stuck with TNA as long as I did. The one problem I have is that he seems like an empty .300 hitter for me. Someone with little pop, doesn't draw too many walks. He's got a sustained amount of being good, but I don't think he has the high-end stuff to put himself over the top and onto a list like this.
-
It's 3/1/92, Joe. It's a good match, will agree with you there, and that's with I believe Vader working on a bad wheel. He doesn't have enough high-end stuff and his great matches are far and few between. Won't make my list.
