  1. - Authorizing Bob Orton, who had hepatitis, to bleed all over the Undertaker. John knew about the hepatitis, and didn't tell Undertaker in advance - Turning developmental from a successful program into what it is now, because he likes going to Florida to party with his friends
  2. - Letting The Rock's contract expire without a phone call
  3. On his podcast this week, Jim Cornette suggested compiling all of John Laurinitis' biggest mistakes in one place for convenience. It seemed like a good idea, so I'll follow Cornette's lead. I'll start with the obvious: - Hiring the wrong one-legged guy
  4. The tag champs work all three shows.
  5. HHH, Orton, and Batista have all interacted with each other so much that any combination of those three guys feuding, teaming, or being otherwise involved in the same storyline is very, very played out. I actually think putting the tag titles on Jericho and Edge, and thus making them main event belts, has now made them the defacto most important belts in the company. It looks like they're looking to Jericho and Edge to freshen up every show. Jericho and Edge have both feuded with every top star on RAW, and RAW is so bad that I don't know if there's anything they can do to save it, but I am intrigued by Jericho and Edge as top heels in ECW, especially with Christian as a babyface and both guys having big history with him. I think the bigger problem is that Cena really needs to be champ. He's been in secondary feuds for a long while now. HHH should be the one in that role. Also, kinda sad how Orton was the hottest guy in wrestling at the beginning of the year and the HHH feud has just killed any momentum he has, and not for the usual reasons of HHH burying his opponent, but because this feud has been so horribly booked with disappointing matches, lots of injuries, and no logic. Part of me thinks there might be more interest right now if they could get the belt on Cena and keep it there for a while. They still haven't really properly blown off Cena/Orton, but I think so much time has passed now that I'm not sure it would mean as much as it would have at one time. They really needed to put more into MVP and Miz than they have, because the main event scene on RAW is a mess. At least Morrison and Punk appear to be on the right track on Smackdown.
  6. Crowds really seem to have soured on HHH in a big way since going public with the marriage to Stephanie on television. Interesting to see him get booed post-match.
  7. Tony Schiavone said "That's a big boss, man" when he made his debut.
  8. You can criticize something or someone and still like it or that person a lot. Dave is great. Bryan I see differently, but even he has his strengths. It's just that for all the criticism they always give about people in pro wrestling living in a bubble afraid to listen to people who disagree with them, they're the exact same way.
  9. Just finished reading everything. I still think the big problem is that, even if they had disagreed about something in the end, it's incredibly frustrating that Bryan -- not quite willing to put Dave in this category just yet -- can never admit being wrong about anything, and has a laundry list of excuses ready if it's not something he can counter. Even more that, his opinions are fact, and if you disagree, you are the one presenting your opinion as fact and trying to "force" everyone to see things your way, despite what the vast majority of people think. Because if the majority thinks something, it is always without question right. You can basically apply that logic to every single thread Bryan is ever a part of. Dave is starting to get a little snippy, which is fine at times, but it's bleeding over into the "be dismissive of those who challenge you on anything" mindset Bryan has. Bix is hardly the first person, and likely won't be the last person, to criticize Dave for being soft on his sources. It's a criticism I know he's heard many times before, and reacting the way he did to it ... I don't even know that it was all that outrageous, but it was really out of character.
  10. I love Dave's response being that he never really has criticized announcers all that much.
  11. That bio was pretty weak. The worst part was the "five star matches" crap, as if it was an objective number of five star matches. Why not saying matches rated five stars by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. I agree that saying that without context of what that means is pretty bad. Isn't this the same guy who tore into me a few years back for stating my opinion as fact?
  12. LAW I wonder if that comes from overcompensating to protect his hand.
  13. Re-watching some of these WCW cruiserweight matches from the late 90s is interesting. Not too many great TV matches because of the time constraints, but you see guys do all sorts of things you may not have known they could do otherwise. One of the few strong matches I have seen is a Jericho/Ultimo match from Thunder, which was super heated and had Ultimo playing a pretty awesome American-style babyface.
  14. Not to mention that he was the road agent that put the Edge/Foley match together at Wrestlemania 22.
  15. The frustration with Dustin seemed to stem more than anything from him doing no jobs for so long early in his stay, along with his push coming at the expense of pushing Brian Pillman. At least that was the perception ... But Steve Austin came in at the exact same point, and I would say Dustin at that period in time was better than Austin, and Austin wasn't doing jobs either. Isn't that what is supposed to happen when you're trying to push new talent, which WCW desperately needed at the time? He was already more established from his WWF run, but even Rick Rude came in and didn't do jobs for a while.
  16. Jim Ross has been taking a lot of shots at CM Punk lately in his blog, about how the perception is that he has an attitude problem, and also that he's not the most popular guy in the locker room. This has only started since the PPV, and I can't figure out if Jim Ross truly dislikes Punk, or if he's just furthering Punk's current storyline.
  17. I typically despise Edge because his facial expressions are way too exaggerated, and I don't care for all the reverse/inverted moves and the terrible spear. But I assume Bix is referring to the match with Morrison on Smackdown, which is getting tons of praise.
  18. Getting this somewhat back on topic, the PG-13 vs Mikey Whipwreck/Spike Dudley match from ECW is the most fun I've had watching wrestling in a long time. PG-13 were great. There's gotta be more footage of them out there. They really seemed to wrestle like a 90s version of the Midnight Express.
  19. The inexplicable tiny pants match.
  20. Someone refresh me -- did the legit story of Steve Williams receiving 108 stitches and wrestling a match that evening play any part in his babyface turn in Mid South? That story always got a lot of play from Jim Ross at the announce booth, was a big PWI feature, and definitely played into that mindset.
  21. I watched Jericho/Ultimo from WAR and that match has really, really not stood the test of time at all. It's really hard to believe it was considered to be great back in '95, and was one of the matches that got Jericho noticed. This match really makes you appreciate the wrestler he would eventually develop into while wrestling for WWE, because aside from a few nice highspots here and there, he really didn't have a clue what to do between moves and was really clumsy. He had the charisma, look, and a few nice moves, but was definitely not a ring general at this point in his career. Give him credit for improving so much.
  22. I think he considered Bischoff a friend, and is still upset about him spending so much time criticizing him in his book he released while in WWE. Dave's biggest problem seemed to be that he grouped him with Wade Keller as if they both were the exact same, which in turn set Wade off on a tangent, because he took it as an insult.
  23. The Jericho story he has told so many times that I'm surprised it went over anyone's head. The Facebook part is the funniest, and there's no inside joking at all there.
  24. It's probably healthy for Dave to do this every now and then.
