  3. For anybody here it's probably all stuff that's easy to find but it's definitely a cool general release for their fans. You get some older stuff and then the later stuff are less memorable ones from those matchups that people probably forgot about or didn't know even existed. I've got a list of a bunch of stuff I'd like to see that is likely to have been taped but never been released and for Bret I've got the following listed... Bret Hart/Ultimate Warrior vs. Papa Shango/Kamala (WWF TV Taping Saskatchewan 10-13-92) Bret Hart/Owen Hart vs. Money Inc (WWF TV Taping Fresno 1-27-93) Bret Hart/Owen Hart vs. The Headshrinkers (WWF TV Taping Lowell 12-14-93) Bret Hart vs. Hakushi (WWF Evansville 7-25-95 Cage Match) Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels vs. Steve Austin/Vader (WWF Chicago 12-26-96) Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker (WWF 1st MSG RAW 9-22-97 Dark Match) Bret Hart vs. Hulk Hogan (WCW San Fran 8-20-99/Reno 8-21/LA 8-22/Pensacola 9-3/Tallahassee 9-4) There's also the first Perfect match from Philly and the Alaska one mentioned in his book plus a couple tags with Michaels from 95 but I doubt any were taped.
  4. The high-level or highly-hyped matches that are exclusive to them and that I've always heard about are the two Styles-Daniels-Joe matches, the Angle-Joe match and the Sabu-Abyss barbed wire match. The next things I would think to look for would be the best Ultimate X match, and bests from Beer Money and MCMG.

  6. I think a lot of the guy's work. They put him with all the guys they wanted to elevate over the last year and a half and he gave a ton in the process. You'd think he was ready to retire the way he's been booked, yet he still maintains the same heat and he did a bunch of fresh stuff over the course of that time. Before that, I felt he did great villain work in a Mania main event program. I think he would deliver that all-time classic match if the program presented itself moreso now than ever.
  7. To me the guy's best stuff to judge from is... -Foley (Backlash 04) -Benoit (Summerslam 04) -Taker (Mania 21) -HHH (No Mercy 07) -Cena (Breaking Point 09) The Summerslam 07 with him and Cena delivered in its spot, but to me a high opinion on it would be a little inflated and stem from there being the typical hot NY/NJ crowd that it was worked in front of. But, great or good? I'll call the Foley and Cena great. Not all-time classics but great matches. The HHH match was a ton of fun, and the Taker and Benoit matches surprised me.

  10. Not All Japan here but one oddball is that Taker-Bulldog WWF Title match from Canada that weekend between Survivor Series 91 and Tuesday in Texas. It was posted in some thread a while back. Aired up there and in Europe only I believe.

  15. There's five out there. Dayton was their 1st match at a 10-23-91 Challenge taping but isn't out there. Oakland 10-25-91, San Francisco 11-15-91, Philly 11-30-91, MSG 11-30-91 and MSG 12-29-91. Both the MSGs were awesome. Great pace.
  16. What are the Rude-Sting matches to see? One of the Clash matches just came up in a thread recently with some talk about the heat it had. I know they had two COTC matches, Spring Stampede 94, Japan with the injury and a King of Cable tourney one. Not sure which are the tops though.

  20. Once he got the TV strap, I thought RVD's 10-15 minute matches were great to watch (especially 1st Lynn on TV, 1st Storm on TV) but the longer stuff was a drag. I don't remember reading it explained why but I do know he is one of the guys people shit on. I can see not acknowledging his ability to innovate a ton of great mid-level-creative offense combined with risking himself for the occasional crazy spot, being a natural cool and cocky that complimented the moves to make his character really believable as a top guy, and actually be the most popular wrestler in the company and then the most popular among those that moved on to either WWF or WCW, but I thought he also actually did a lot of little things that people usually gravitate to pointing out on here. He threw mainly forearms and jabs as opposed to bullshit chops and haymakers, he would strike back if there felt like there was too much time to act unconscious between the exectution of a spot and the opponent setting him up for it, and he'd play to the crowd instead of just having blatant tunnel vision and hitting move after move. Those little things combined with all the other shit mentioned before it made for a good watch. EDIT - And I just realized this was a Sabu thread, who I feel real similar about. Anyone want to respond to the RVD stuff, it'll be in ECW memories. (Points to Sky and leaves)
  21. Was searching out some Vader tags and had no idea until yesterday that Vader worked Flair at a COTC a month or so before Starrcade 93. Always thought that SC93 was built up to be their first encounter and added to its luster.

One of my favorite forgotten moments when I was going through 95-98 TV was on RAW in August where there's a Canadian Stampede 10-Man Tag rematch tease that felt big time with a hot Texas crowd. The Harts were in the ring and Austin is on the ramp with his music blaring the entire time as one-by-one comes out Shamrock, Patriot making his debut, Sid making his first appearance in a month and what would ultimately be his last time on TV in WWF, and lastly Michaels who had also been out since just after King of the Ring.
  23. Both are clipped but RVD-Snow and Sabu-Snow from Feb/March have some wickid visuals and tell the story of the TV title feud that led up to the Wrestlepalooza98 time limit draw, their first match again since two years prior. Give more thoughts tomorrow.
  24. Nitro 10-4-99 has what might be Flair and Hogan's only time as a tag team? Taking on Sting and Luger.
  25. For WTF value, Bret Hart vs. Terry Funk from Thunder 1-6-00 in a No DQ match. Bret gets dumped on his head by Funk when he sticks him in a shopping cart and flips it over. Jarrett attacks Funk with a baseball bat during one of the many played-out NWO run ins and then tosses it away when he's done with it, only for the butt end of it to unexpectedly ding Bret in the face while he's lying on the mat. The show ends with Nash bombing Funk off the stage. Watching this after the fact, I just remember thinking these two guys don't deserve this.
