  1. There's still something strange going on when he doesn't stick to the recommended treatment schedule. Like Chris Benoit, just because he has a legitimate need, that doesn't mean he hasn't superdosed to performance enhance in the past. It doesn't help that the NSAC hasn't got an endocrinologist on board yet to review such cases. However, given his career trajectory, I can believe he was clean before 2008, as he only became a UFC championship level fighter after that date.
  2. TNA being late on payments caused him to hit the bottle! It's all their fault!
  3. Not surprising given the proportion of wrestlers who were ex college footballers.

  5. The plans to make Raw more interactive worry me, they already have enough problems keeping long term storylines straight with Vince McMahon's indecisiveness. Sounds like it is going to become a Manic Monday, despite interactive PPVs like Taboo Tuesday and Cyber Sunday being a failure.
  6. Ironic given that TNA used the same tactic against Jim Cornette.
  7. More from Jamie Penick on the UFC on FOX 3 rating:
  8. If UFC were just stuck with Fuel, then they'd want out of the deal I imagine. The FOX deal was supposed to springboard the company to the next level, help create them tens of thousands of extra regular PPV customers and so far that hasn't happened. Moreover, they expected TUF's ratings to be boosted by being on FX, but instead they've slumped to a 0.7 rating, well below the station's prime time average. When the FOX deal was signed I didn't expect it to be a game changer, but it has panned out worse so far than anyone could have expected, outside of the strong ratings for Velasquez vs. dos Santos.
  9. Dana's pissed off because Dave pointed out the pink elephant in the room. Dave's got his own network sources and though he won't publicly say this, he knows Dana is full of crap. If they were so high on the UFC brand, then why did FOX air some commercials that pushed "four fights" without mentioning UFC whatsoever. And that was before they got the lowest rating for a network MMA special ever.
  10. Steroid allegations would be problematic. More so than in Ric Flair's divorce before the company had a Wellness policy.
  11. Could they get in trouble using a remix of Cult Of Personality?

  13. Given that it was a worked shoot, I wouldn't be surprised if the creative underlings had one script and the inner circle had another.

    Brock is back

To be fair, the Eddy title change was pushed as a passing of the torch moment. I don't blame Lance for not remembering some of the other losses, but that was a big match that he should have remembered.
  15. It's really hard to believe that Vince McMahon wasn't aware that the interview would happen. We already know they were trying to work us into believing Lesnar had quit before Raw, so they could have a gotcha moment. I suppose Cena has the plausible deniability with the "I was knocked too silly to know what I was doing" angle, but it still seems unlikely.
  16. That makes sense, but doesn't really fit with the stories that Paul Heyman was giddy over getting the Philly hardcore fans to chant Dick Flair. The goal from Heyman's perspective seems to have been to turn WCW into the ultimate heels.
  17. I don't think those rumours had come out at the time Nash jumped ship to WWE.

    Brock is back

Lance forgets Brock losing to Eddy Guerrero a month before he left in 2004 I see...
  19. At least they're doing them with main eventers.
  20. It may have made more money, but where would it leave the company if Brock was put over Cena, Punk, Orton and Sheamus this year before losing to The Rock or The Undertaker or Steve Austin at WrestleMania 29 and then likely bailing? I think having Lesnar lose now to Cena, giving them plenty of time to rehab him before WrestleMania 29, is probably the best compromise. Of course, feel free to kick me in the balls if Hunter beats Brock at SummerSlam!
  21. Here's the Cageside Seats posts based on MKJ's and Dave's reports, respectively: Report: Brock Lesnar blows up backstage after John Cena promo at Extreme Rules Brock Lesnar backstage blow up a work? WWE reportedly walking thin line with its big star Wade hasn't touched this story yet on his website or in his radio show to the best of my knowledge, which is interesting because I'm sure he would have heard the same stories.
  22. Exactly, Bryan is at his most annoying when he complains about things not making sense when they actually do.

  24. That's preferable to Bryan on the radio show today. His loud complaints about John Cena not being in the beat the clock matches after beating Lesnar, while Lawler was, were insufferable. Hey, maybe Cena will get a shot at the title after he's dealt with Laurinaitis and Lord Tensai, OK? I mean part of the Cena hate was how the WWE title always revolved around him. What's the big rush?

    Brock is back

With the explosion of social media in recent years it was always going to rear its ugly head again, worse than ever. Also the Punk worked shoot angle worked to a degree and when something works once they always repeat the same idea over and over again to try to recreate that magic moment.
