  1. When was it all rosy fields for you in the WWE then? The seventies? They did FAIRLY good business 1998-2001
  2. The surprise legend entrants rarely show up on Raw the next night, even if they're friends with the the Evil King Of Kings. Who did you want in there, Jake? the Warrior embarrassing himself? Bruno? They could have had Sting but I guess they want to hold that card. I don't remember Mason Ryan being in the Rumble He is one of the only big time draws left who they haven't milked yet, so when he became available they brought him back . . and he drew. What did you expect him to do on his return? Do the job to Fandango? Yeah fuck Our Lord the Evil King Of Kings and his minions (he isn't even the boss yet!). Dolph Ziggler should be headlining Mania! to put aside your feeble trolling - if you don't think Paul isn't a major part of the decision process you're delusional. As far as Dave Batista being a big time draw? We'll see if he can draw before the stumblefuck hurts himself before Mania and they have to call an audible. There is a bias in this company which is consistent from the 80s to 2014. Big, musclebound people whether they can work or not. I'm just glad there is one person who can go tell them to go fuck themselves. The two egomaniacs and the senile old man are ruining what was a good company to watch at one time.
  3. If it's a shoot, I'm happy. Punk could reasonably have a bright future in a place like NJPW where he would be respected and WOULDN'T have to work a schedule designed to grind a persons bones to dust. The "E" has mishandled so many talents it's the rule rather than the exception. Call what's happening the KLIK 2.0. Who gets in the Rumble: Nash -- who doesn't even show for the next nights' RAW. The Musclehead from NXT and Batista -- another friend of Paul's . Who wouldn't be pissed if the Bosses friends are all getting the spots and hard work and talent count for fuck all? I hope Bryan is next out the door and he and Punk both go to Japan. They would at least reinvigorate the gaijin side of whatever fed they wrestled in (assuming NJPW). The WWE is sewing the seeds of it's own eventual destruction.

  8. Austins' Next guest will be the "Rowdy" Roddy Piper -- as per Hot Rod's twitter account. Now THERE'S some potential for verbal fireworks!
  9. JR wrote an entertaining piece on how Ric Flair was going to get out of "turning heel" on the Carolina Panthers msn.foxsports.com/buzzer/story/2014/01/11/don-t-be-surprised-is-niners-fall-victim-to-ric-s-slick-tricks.html

  11. Re: Harley v. Lawler No doubt this was a "southern" bias going on. Wrestlers from Central States (St. Louis) felt anything from Tennessee (whether Knoxville or Memphis) was low grade bullshit/gaga compared to the product presented by Sam Muchnick or The Crocketts. It was just the pecking order. I wonder if Harley still held Lawler having his picture taken with the title against the King?

  13. Yep...that's CBC 2 for you.
  14. Truly R.I.P. to one of the biggest names in Canadian wrestling. It should be noted that "Grand Prix Wrestling" in the 70s (the promotion Mad Dog was involved with) had better ratings than the venerable "Hockey Night In Canada" in an NHL mad country. My condolences to Khawk as he is the resident AWA guru/maven here. For anyone who reads the CANoe.ca article linked before : "Vachon the Cochon" (cochon means "pig") As Mad Dog used to growl.... "It's not da size of the dog in da fight, it's da size of the fight in da DOG!" He was one of a kind.
  15. Re: the pinball bumping. I see two common factors here. The fact that most of the workers listed (Stevens, Flair, Henning) worked the majority of their careers as heels. By their nature they have to sell "bigger" than the faces. Also it appears to be a West Coast trademark from the people mentioned. One could argue they had a bigger "show biz" quotient than the strict Lou Thesz/St. Louis way of working back in the 50's and 60's. I do remember something in Roddy Piper's book about him using this pinball style out west and when he went to Georgia (?) Ole Anderson had a meeting with him and told him it was total crap. Something like "what would you do in a real fight if a guy jumped up and tried all this fancy stuff". Piper said he'd knock him silly. Thereafter we got Hotrod's more realistic brawling style.

  19. Hey! It's tough being the world's Meanest Midget! What an ass.
  20. No...Jeff is a harder worker than Luger ever was. Jeff is More over than Luger ever was and Jeff actually loves the business as opposed to Luger. Who would deny to people he was even in the business. What are you basing all of that on? All three points you listed are debatable, with the third one being based in nothing I have ever read or heard. as to the third point - Mike Graham on the Legends Round table on Classics on Demand told of his disgust of seeing Luger deny to people on planes other places that he was Lex Luger. He was given all the chances in the world to get over in the WWE and what did we wind up with "The Lex Express". The man liked the money but plainly had no passion for the business and kindly name me three good matches he had with someone not named Flair.

  22. The Gangsta's -- Even when they were in SMW Nu-Jack wasn't letting Mustapha ride in the same car with him (this was according to James E.) As usual with Wrestling (and a lot of other businesses) it appears money was at the root of the problem. Mustapha didn't like he couldn't do promos as well as Jack. The way I remember it Mustapha went off from ECW and did another promotion with someone else as the Gangstas which is what split the team....
