This is giving me hope for a Rey win for the title as well. After the bombs of 2000 and 2001, where the main events saw the heel go over, and a face win then turn heel, respectively, Vince seems to have gone back to babyfaces winning in the main event, or main events. 2003 saw Hogan, Rock (heel), and Lesnar all go over, and Rock's win was mainly due to Austin retiring, and Goldberg needing opponents. 2004 saw Eddie, Taker, and Benoit all go over, and last year saw Cena and Batista win. I'm starting to think that, unless Vince really loses his mind, that Cena and Rey will both go over, unless Angle retains, but if that happens, I think the RAW main event will likely close the show, since Vince is naturally running with Cena more than Angle.

Wrestling (specifically the WWE) and football (or other sports) are entirely different animals. You'll see other sports leagues working together for the sake of a strong Hall (or other things) but you'll never see it in wrestling. Specifically, you'll never see the WWE working with other promotions or anyone else for that matter for this sort of thing. What if WCW, ECW, the AWA, World Class, etc. were still around, and the WWF/E had their Hall and were the top promotion still? Could you call it a credible Hall, knowing that Vince probably wouldn't work with the other companies for the sake of enriching it? In other words, I think the PWHF in Latham, NY is the closest we'll get to a fully credible wrestling Hall Of Fame.

Hulk Hogan Knocks Richard Belzer the Fuck Out
Marty replied to sek69's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
I should've told you this earlier, but I did laugh at this comment. Hope it makes you feel better. That comment on the DVD is funny as shit, especially the "No, Andre, this is my battle" comment he also uses. Between this and threatening to smack the Warrior around when over the SummerSlam 91 money controversy, is there any truth at all to Hogan being a shooter? -
(hope somebody gets the joke) Hey, what about Sundays?

I'm assuming he means that the company likes Maria and doesn't want Punk to fill her head with his old school "wrasslin'" approach to the business. They want to teach her the "WWE way" The real irony of that is: Doesn't HHH have an "old school wrasslin'" approach to the business?

Bret Hart to Be Inducted into WWE Hall of Fame
Marty replied to Strummer's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Good for Bret, since he's wanted to give one final good-bye and thanks for a while now. I'll be even more happy if he gets inducted by all the members of Karachi Vice. -

Benoit/Lashley vs. Finlay/JBL on Smackdown this week was fun, specifically the Benoit-in-peril section. I love Finlay and JBL attacking Benoit's hand, so he couldn't chop his opposition. Really neat psychology. -

Really??? I could've sworn my copy of Anthology had Real American for Hogan's WM19 theme. Interesting. -
I found the blurring to be the absolute worst for WM16. The day Eddie Guerrero passed away, I watched all his WM matches on the box set as my own quick tribute to him that day, and I couldn't believe how ugly WM16 looked in the mixed 6-person tag, due to things like all the camera people wearing WWF shirts. The match looked spotty, but in a different fashion.

Edited for accuracy.

Yeah, the WrestleWar match (on the HHH disc) is on the Flair set, along with Clash VI. The Chi-Town Rumble match is on the 80s set. I think the only other major match on the HHH set is HHH-Foley from Royal Rumble 00, and that's on the Foley set. So yeah, no point in getting that set at all.

Since it's been brought up here, what does/did/would Steph have against Jim Cornette?

It was a WWE one, but it was during that time when they still had all the WWF stuff in production without censorship. I bought mine in 2003 when I first started buying DVDs, knowing full well that it was going to be in the "hard to get" list soon due to all the copyright stuff. Oddly enough, I've seen it in bunches in different discount stores up here. The HHH and nWo DVDs from the same time are ones I can't find at all. Not that I'm really complaining though. I think the Hogan one is still available at Highspots, though.

LOL. Which reminds me, off topic: Outside of Benoits, Shawn's, Bret's, Foley's, Flair's and Undertaker's, which wrestler has the best WWE released DVD? I have Rey's in my Netflix que right now (Since the ECW one is sold out)... Jake's (as Sek mentioned) and Eddie come to mind. Road Warriors' one is good too, as well as the original Hogan one from back in the day.

*hugs his copy of Brock Lesnar "Here Comes The Pain" DVD*

That's nothing. If you watch certain releases they've done (not just the box set), they've blurred out fans' signs that either have "WWF" written on them or the WWF Attitude logo. My box set was actually quite fine, including the WM21 disc. I've heard stories that some people had their disc never fully secured, or it was too secured and damn near impossible to remove for use. Haven't had a problem with either. In fact, all my discs are in perfect shape. Thank God I had better luck with this set than with some other WWE DVDs I've purchased.

Just when Mick Foley was pissing me off
Marty replied to The Thread Killer's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Agreed with you there. You know, it's shit like that which makes me stop and think, "You know, Eddie's really in a better place now instead of before." -
The set was for a limited time only (not just the rare black set with Vince McMahon's signature inside) but also the more common holograph one. There's also the possibility that due to the missed censoring of "WWF" on occasion (bound to happen when you may have to edit 18 shows) that a certain someone caught wind of it and discontinued the set. I'm betting on the above reason though.

Cam, thanks for posting the interview. Anyways, regarding the Undisputed title reign, didn't Jericho get the title also as a reward for taking the WCW guys under his wing and showing them the WWF way, so to speak? I think Loss brought that up at one point to me too.

Best Street Clothes: Ric Flair's suits during the Horsemen days Best Slide in the Ring Run in: Jake Roberts Best at taking/giving the Irish Whip: Trish Stratus Interacts Best with other talent: The Rock Favorite Illegal objects: Jerry Lawler's invisible chain that he used in Texas Merchandise you wouldnt be ashamed to wear: I get a lot of glances and smiles from women whenever I have my Rock t-shirt on, so I'll go with that. The first Cena DVD wasn't bad as far as new star DVDs go. There's a couple watchable matches with Benoit and Eddie, and I think the Undertaker one was okay-ish too. But the main programs features hundreds of his neat raps that he did in 2003. If someone ever needed a laugh, it's a good DVD to watch, just for the raps.

I never ever heard any news of a second Flair set. Where did you?
