  1. You take it personally whenever Raven gets brought up which is why you mentioned Spike. Even if we all pretended Spike sucked his career was tiny in comparison to Raven's. I thought Raven was fine as an act in WCW. In ECW he was just trash, with every match as an overbooked clusterfuck, and poor and uninteresting work even by "garbage" standards. Post-WCW Raven I really can't imagine anyone being high on. Pre-ECW Raven? Well I guess Johnny Polo was funny, but I don't think he was very good as Scotty Flamingo. Spike is a shitty candidate for this thread because he wasn't around nearly long enough to fit even if you thought he was god awful. It's a obvious troll and typically shitty one from you.
  2. No, because Raven is really good. Has Spike Dudley been mentioned in this thread ? Unlike you I wasn't trolling. Raven sucks shit and has forever. The idea that he is "really good" now is especially ridiculous.
  3. I actually strongly considered this myself
  4. Has Raven been mentioned in this thread?
  5. What's the date on the one hour draw with Joe from 06? Because that's my pick
  6. Vince McMahon was in one of the better tv matches of the year last year

Why would Sheamus and Orton just forget about the three guys who have beaten them and attacked them over and over? The good guys are holding a grudge and they got to strike back a little. If Shield always comes out on top, it'd be NWO all over again. And Orton and Sheamus are top level guys, it's not like Zach Ryder and Santino got one over on them. No one is arguing The Shield always come out on top. They should probably lose at Mania. But I don't think The Shield should be used as a vehicle to get Orton back into the upper tier.

They already beat Cena, Ryback and Sheamus. There really isn't anywhere "up" to go unless they wind up involved with Taker or something. I would have been fine with that. More to the point I think Ryback/Henry/Show would have been the most interesting option.

The Shield just beat a who's who of babyfaces and now they are going back to Orton on team Sheamus? It sucked shit. They need to be upping the ante, not running backwards.

God I fucking HATED that Shield segment. Worst segment they've been involved with so far.

What spots were blown? I really enjoyed it, though I wish the selling had been more consistent. Still watching that the first thing I thought was "that should have been the Mania main event." Cena getting even with Punk now literally gives Punk no obvious thing of note to do after Mania when Rock is gone either. I really hope he takes six months off.
  13. My fault. County stats were the only ones I could find

Trying to think of a match I would rather see less than HHH v. Lesnar two, particularly after that set up. Can't think of anything.
  15. I am too lazy to check the date on my favorite Hash v. Tenryu match, so I will say Hash v. Zangiev
  16. Young David v. Jim Breaks
  17. Second Survivor Series 96
  18. I don't want this thread to die because I am legitimately interested in who others would consider for the very top level. Still want to hear who John sees in the three slot
  19. Gordy/Martel is another match that I'm fascinated to see people have so high. I thought a lot of the work in the match was really sharp, but the psychology was ass backwards to the point of being distracting
  20. Benoit v. Finlay Judgment Day 06
  21. Chattanooga is also the place of my birth, surely a historic site for any wrestling fan
  22. That was tremendous. Honestly thanks for doing that as it does help a lot with context and details. The feud was even crazier than I thought.
  23. Abdullah The Butcher v. Carlos Colon - ?(1986) I'm not even sure you can really call this a match, but whatever it is, it's a hell of a spectacle. Colon is coming back at Abby for revenge after Abby had blinded him by throwing ammonia in his eyes. The baseball stadium is as packed as I've ever seen it. I got the feeling that the original plan in the early going was to go to the floor, but with so many fans up this close they never really spill out to the floor until the match is over and things start slow. And then a couple of minutes in Colon pulls out an object and starts stabbing the fuck out of Abby, gouging at his eyes with fish hooks, punching him in the face, stomping him hard, et. It is a total and complete mugging and it just goes on and on. Abby gets a couple of token shots here or there, but this is the most one sided match I've ever seen of this length. The doctor keeps coming in and checking on Abby to see if he can continue and Abby keeps waiving him off. At one point blood literally spurts out of Abby's head and onto the camera where it stays for the rest of the match. Eventually Colon wins (I think?) by stoppage and chases Abby to the back with a chair. Then Colon is carried to the dugout on the shoulders of fans. This is probably longer than it had any right being, but at no point was I bored by this and it's one of the more entertainingly bizarre things I've ever seen in wrestling. El Profe v. Hugo Savinovich - Loser Gets Painted Yellow 1987 This is a helluva a lot of fun. Hugo comes out to a huge reaction getting swarmed by kids, runs in the ring and starts choking Profe with his headband which ruled. For a manager v. semi-retired wrestler/announcer you won't find a lot of matches with better offense then this. It may have actually been too much in some ways, but this had a cross body, some nasty Profe knees, a great assisted double stomp from Profe, a Profe senton, suplexes from Hugo, sunset flips and other shit I'm forgetting. It was fairly back and fourth, but I thought it was segmented well with Profe having to go to the nuts every time he took over on offense and Hugo's selling of everything being good when he wasn't rattling off offense. Finish looked really great as Profe went for a splash off the top and ate the double knees. Post-match is incredible was the fans surround Profe on all sides as he tries to flee and then he gets held down while Hugo literally takes a paintbrush and paints him yellow from head-to-toe. I did not like this quite as much as Cowbunga v. Jim Cornette, but for your crazy matches of that ilk, this was close. Wahoo McDaniel v. Dan Spivey - 1988 This is almost worth watching just for Spivey's mullet and parachute pants. The match itself is okay for a brief affair. Lots of Spivey's offense looks like dog shit, but Wahoo bleeds a gusher which kind of disguises how shitty a lot of it looks. Anyhow Wahoo gets his ass beat and wins on a schoolboy. Nothing match really.

In a way the fact that it's Dutch makes me hate it even more as his genius is being wasted on this
