I can only speak for myself, but that wasn't my point at all. My point is that Cena gets lambasted in some quarters of the internet because he's too formulaic, all he does is work WWE style safely laid out main events, he's not adaptable, et. But it turns out when working with the PWGish indie guys of various types (Cesaro, Neville, Rollins, Owens, even Punk and Bryan to a degree) he has seamlessly been able to work that way. In fact tonight Owens basically worked the exact same match as the first Cena match, with Cena being the guy who changed things up and added something fresh to the match. As I said on Twitter my preference would be a 2007 style John Cena, but as the company is quickly filling up with PWGish indie guys, I think Cena deserves credit for working that style and being really good at it. Also it's worth noting he didn't do a Canadian Destroyer. He did a Code Red.

Horner was someone I really wanted, especially after Prichard and Lafon fell off the board. This puts me in a weird position as now I'm not sure I can fill one of my key needs BUT I am almost positive I can fill my other one. -

Lafon could be good in a workrate tag team in 83. -
Rollins is officially HHH

I have tried to pick guys that fit the character of Portland. I see Barry as a better version of Hennig, Dundee as a better version of Dynamite, Embry as a better version of Rip Oliver, et. Stevens and Paterson were choices made with a bigger picture in mind. -
Happy to see Titus and Darren get a big win, but I'm not sure it was the right move.

I hope people realize that Cena has basically reinvented himself as a spotfest/PWG/ROH inspired guy and done it brilliantly. He gets very little credit for adapting, but he basically did the opposite of what Rey did years ago. To the extent this match was different than the last match it was because of what Cena brought, not Owens (and that's not a knock on Owens).

Portland is proud to welcome Rotten Ron Starr back to the Pacific Northwest!

Who does the bionic elbow spot? I'm sure it will be Cena but fuck that.

My next pick is pretty much set in stone unless someone comes and grabs him. Ten minutes is outrageous -

Honestly if I get to the end and don't see people that I can reasonably envision working Portland I'll just trade my picks. -

Wiskowski was probably going to be my next pick though I'm not crushed to see him fall off the board. Having said that Wiskowski and Lafon falling back to back is pretty brutal. I honestly have no clue how I'm going to even be able to draft a person in every round at this rate. -
If Cheeseburger was winning tons of matches I would see your point. He's not. He's in the lowest rung feud in the promotion, against a guy who is basically a comedic veteran figure. Complaining about Cheeseburger is like complaining over The Mulkeys.

Is anyone else terrified that Kane is going to win MITB?

That was actually my point. Those big feds have different needs to operate then the smaller feds. I can get by with Doug Somers as a semi-main eventer. -

There are tons of quality workers still on the board. Stars that can make an impact on name alone? Not so many. In some respects the existing board is better suited to smaller feds right now. -
On expansion I have no problem with it and in fact some of my decisions have been made under the assumption that expansion might be occurring. The reality is that the Portland territory cannot sustain a regular foster of thirty some odd regular performers and talents as it was constituted in 1983. Don Owen has no interest in going national but there are picks that would not have been made, and tentative agreements that would not have been lined up if very limited expansion was known to be forbidden. Having said this Portland will abide by any collective decision made. That said if it is decided that expansion is forbidden in any and all forms, Portland will renounce it's NWA membership and become a fully isolationist group, but continue to move forward on those terms.

Sad to see Rip go. I wanted him, but not quite enough to draft him this early. Starting to get to be really thin pickings for people who I think are really appropriate for Portland. Possible I am just going to start loading up on random jobbers and undercard guys after my next pick. -
If ROH got rid of Cheeseburger they would lose me as a fan forever.

I am caught in the middle of almost every round going forward which is the dirt worst. For that reason it's likely that I have one last shot of picking up a key piece of talent, and most of the rest of the pool will be utility players I have to mold. I can't decide if this is oddly liberating or depressing. -

There actually is a reason I took Mando first that pertains to my plans and geography. But in hindsight I regret not picking Hector first because I should have known he would be more attractive in other places. Robinson was also going to be one of my next picks so my plans are pretty well shot to hell at this point. -

The tag team I wanted that slowed things yesterday was Mando and Hector. Now I've got Mando and no Hector , which makes me already regret picking Mando. -

There is some reason Doug Somers isn't available to draft right? Someone say yes so I'm not tempted to draft him.
