  1. It doesn't quite pack the punch it would have years ago, but it would certainly shine some light on WWE to folks who normally wouldn't be aware of such things. Also HBO being part of the Warner/Discovery empire could have implications for any future TV deals if/when Vince throws a hissy at them if they do this.
  2. I was a Jake the Snake and Macho Man kid. My earliest memories of wrestling was watching NWA 6:05 Saturday shows with my grandpap, but when I saw Macho make his WWF debut with the colorful-ass robes that's when I was like "yup, this wrestling thing is for me".
  3. I remember being a kid at the height of Hulkamania and feeling like I was weird one that despite being squarely in the target demo, I thought Hulk was a gigantic asshole to everyone.
  4. Mr. Wonderful was completely justified.
  5. Also he did that whole deal in GCW where he won the first match with Effy in what clearly was the start of a program, then he immediately bounced to WWE.
  6. Fightful reporting that the reason FTR-Bucks seems to be pushed back for now is that Kenny is set to return imminently and they have an angle planned with him.
  7. Also it's really impressive how WWE can make someone like Logan Paul (who being a douchenozzle aside, he is a pretty big star) feel like nothing special.
  8. Working an indy show as a WWE VP in a match with two AEW guys while reffing at SummerSlam the next day? Dude is the Tom Brady of carny, and that's before you count the multiple times he booked himself in angles in AAA and left them hanging.
  9. This, then Corny calls it the best match of the year with zero irony.
  10. This is probably the best possible outcome if he has to have one last match, Andrade can do the work for his team and I'm sure Double J will bring all the Memphis bullshit he can to make it look halfway decent. It is funny that they kinda spoiled the match from the video that made the rounds of him and Lethal training in the ring together.
  11. lol at WWE making sure no one remembers Miz got mega face pops for turning on Logan Paul
  12. If the 24/7 segments don't involve R Truth or Reggie, then why even bother?
  13. It's funny that they broke up all the women's tag teams as quickly as possible (and most for no reason), yet they have been teasing tension between Doudrop and Nikki forever.
  14. It feels like they got too cute with Theory winning MITB and kind of booked themselves into a corner. No one believes he could beat Roman or Brock straight up, and even if he successfully cashes in due to shenanigans he'll be completely unbelievable champion.
  15. KO is back, already this show is improving.
  16. Wow, Vince must be getting shook by all the investigations to bring Titus out of mothballs to speak on how fun and happy WWE is.

At first I thought it was dumb to try to make her a heel after finally telling her backstory which is the most babyface thing ever. but then I remembered how poorly WWE books face and realized it's much better this way.

It was pretty much just A Show. I'm getting caught up with everything this weekend, and the Heyman/Theory interaction made me think Paul E probably gave that same speech to about a dozen people in ECW back in the day.
  19. Apparently Two Dimes survived his attempted whacking and showed up on a Dark taping.
  20. For some reason it's never mentioned that the WON/F4W site is part of the Sports Illustrated family, with all the horrible design that entails.
  21. It's kind of weird TK hasn't started some kind of ROH show yet. I know TV deals can be messy and take a while to iron out, but he can either put another show on YouTube for the time being (or rename one of the Dark shows to ROH) so they can have their own space to work.

Now the TV-14 era is being pushed back, seems like there's a tug of war going on. I would imagine USA is pushing for it for the reasons I stated above, and WWE probably doesn't really want to blow up all the work they've done getting respectable sponsors who were thinking they are still doing Attitude Era stuff in 2022.
  23. You're right, but a lot of the time people take the "well if I'm not going over, this match is going to be shit so I'm going to dog it" point of view.
  24. I would imagine it's probably harder to be super professional and sell your heart out when you're losing, especially if you might be thinking the reasons you are losing are bullshit, but the audience shouldn't be able to see a marked difference in effort one way or another because of it.

Apparently this is in part due to USA feeling the pressure of the Turner/Discovery networks coming at the "#1 in cable" title that the USA Network had so much pride in.
