From today's Observer update:
-
Real testament to how often shows get rewritten that they are doing the "person claims to be a champion" story with two different people on the same show.
-
That was a pretty dope frog splash by Montez.
-
I appreciate Shotzi trying to start a mosh pit in the crowd on every show now.
-
I dunno, I still dig the style of the new US belt. People seem to be clowning on it, and perhaps I just have low expectations on WWE belt design, but I dig it.

Well....... https://nypost.com/2020/07/20/ric-flair-spotted-without-a-mask-even-though-wife-has-coronavirus/ Basically is wife has tested positive and he was pictured going on a Starbucks drive thru run without a mask. Goes on to state a source saying he's already tested positive as well but Ric himself is denying it.

I've never seen any company, wrestling or otherwise, with such open and obvious contempt for their own fanbase as them.

Looks like Kairi Sane is finishing up this week and going back to Japan.

So Dave on the post show Observer show stated Apollo Crews' absence was indeed because of Covid, and the eye for an eye match was in fact intended to be Rey's write off with the "the doctors may be able to save his eye" part being an out if and when he does sign a new deal (Dave believes he will sign at some point).
-
I'd wager the sticking point is WWE wants to lock everyone in to long term deals and Rey has been going on shorter 18 month contracts. I can see WWE stupidly thinking they have some kind of leverage as if A: he wouldn't get a AEW offer in like .2 seconds, and B: their word means anything now after cutting a bunch of folks on long term deals.
-
The whole thing is weird, they must want Rey to sign one of those 5 year deals that aren't worth the paper they write them on and Rey is not budging. But continuing to go to work at the Covid Hut without any kind of contract isn't the best plan either. The best plan for Rey himself is to go literally anywhere else so he can make decent money and not have to deal with this bullshit. I get why he would want to stay in WWE for Dominic's sake but at some point he has to wonder if that's the best place for him as well.

The only thing I can see JR's point is that it did seem Cage was going in and out of looking menacing and that is something that could be improved. Taz getting up in the camera cutting some boss ass promos while Cage stood behind him flexing and mean mugging was some top notch business. I can see where he would think someone like Cage isn't being heel enough in his ring work by doing high spotty type stuff, but that comes off as JR being more cranky than any fault of Cage.

Braun was a guest on "A Moment of Bliss" not too long ago and they referenced their team and them being friends still. I thought it was weird at the time to suddenly reference a show that was otherwise reconned from WWE canon, but I saw that an was like "ohhhh, that's why they did it". Also stupidness aside, I guess this was Rey being written out since he didn't sign a new deal?

Fire Pro World has a promoter mode, and you can create just about any wrestler/ring style you want, and if you don't want to make it yourself there's *tons* of pre made ones you can download for free since FIre Pro has a famously loyal fanbase that makes pretty much any edit for every game in the series.

I love how at least 75% of WWE cinematic matches end with wondering if someone is dead or not.
-
LOL @ the first Friday the 13th movie ending homage there.
-
So far this match reminded me how much I really enjoyed the original Bray Wyatt music.
-
Also Rosenberg can fuck off with that Bobby Heenan style jacket. Brain would roast that weenie so hard for wearing that.
-
I do like that Booker has his Pro Wrestling Illustrated awards on display in his house. Its still real to him, dammit!
-
Also I just launched the app on my Xbox One and the commentary was set to Spanish for some reason. I'd like to think it was my Xbox trying to look out for me.
-
Yeah WWE socials were sharing their talking heads having an earnest discussion about someone losing their vision tonight, and I'm just like "fuck, this is actually happening, isn't it?'
-
Which also means WWE gave them stupid money not to leave, then used said stupid money as reason to fire them during a pandemic.
-
So Maria tweeted a bunch of things WWE told her (and Mike presumably) and it was all similar to what the Good Brothers told them when they were being offered deals, things like "think about your family" etc. Really makes them somehow seem even more slimy when they say stuff like that to entice people to sign, yet cut basically everyone who tried to play hardball in negotiations.

WWE TV 07/13 - 07/19 Paul Verhoeven is now a visionary and really basic

Imagine wanting to keep that guy covered up in battle armor.
