  1. I'm thinking they saw his excursion in CMLL and realized "oh shit, this guy isn't as good as we thought he would be" and decided he'd be better off as a gimmick character. Also New Japan just announced a tournament for the six man titles and there's some interesting pairings:
  2. This. It's more an issue of them trying to crack down on boobie streamers than anything else.
  3. He did. Literally years ago. The folks looking to dig this up don't even realize it's already been dealt with.
  4. There's already a luchador on the Mexican indy scene named Coronavirus.
  5. Montez Ford is another "how are they not making all the money with this guy?" situation. How did it take Paul Heyman running Raw for anyone in charge on the main roster to realize that maybe we should push the super charismatic guy?
  6. Looking back, I wonder how much of his retirement talk was just frustration of not ever getting a big break anywhere. Being on NWA Power when it was the new hotness getting all the buzz seemed to revitalize him.
  7. Maybe, but then they are roping in Owens with that too since he was involved so even that blows up in their faces if that was the goal. Owens spoke about it in (I think) a shoot interview where he said he had to be talked into it and it was one of those things that the moment he did it he realized it was a bad idea. Regarding other topics: Kingston being signed is the best news of 2020 so far. Him being on a national level working for a promotion that won't spend all their time watering him down will be nothing short of amazing. Also Taz is absolutely great at his job right now. Not only can he step in for the lead commentator while still maintaining his heel persona, he's got Brian Cage established as a draw in a matter of weeks. Having Ricky Starks in his group is a good move too. Have Taz establish him to the AEW crowd and eventually he can be split off since he doesn't need a mouthpiece speaking for him. Oh yeah, give MJF all the belts too.
  8. Both him and Owens addressed this and explained/apologized for it literally years ago the first time this came up. This is not only an attempt at gotcha but a lazy one.
  9. Most Twitch bans are only for a couple days/weeks, if it was something permanent it would have made the news since it would have had to involve some really bad behavior.
  10. Honestly I wonder if house shows will go away when the pandemic is over. There were people asking if they were still worthwhile before everything happened, and the consensus was WWE just does them because that's how things have always been done. With there being clear numbers showing what a money pit they are, I can see Vince only running TV and PPV shows and dump the rest.
  11. Those record profits don't even count the layoffs since those people were still being paid until July, which makes it even more gross. What was a real eye opener is what a money loser live events have been. Turns out when you pay to rent out a major arena and only draw 4,000 people you lose your ass, who knew.
  12. So much of the focus is put on the indy stars that the homegrown talent is left to rot at the PC, how many stories are there of folks who've been in "not even on NXT TV as a jobber" hell at the PC for *years*. You can't improve as a wrestler without wrestling, and all this stockpiling of talent just to play keep away is just causing more damage to the trainees.
  13. I mean, he's had a lot of time on his hands and I guess it wasn't all being spent on booking his action figure fed. They can only work with folks in the US, willing to travel, and can test negative. I'm sure at this point they'd probably give any of us a one shot if we check all the boxes.
  14. Twitter recently cracked down on Qanon conspiracy bullshit, which of course only proves the conspiracy to the dummies.
  15. I saw a lot of people getting overly mad over Cameron as if she wasn't just a body to fill the women's tag tourney. If she beats Shida next week yeah by all means scream, but I'm not going to get all OMG NEPOTISM over someone being #14 in a 16 person field.
  16. Balor was so much better as a heel as the OG head of Bullet Club where he had Bad Luck Fale as his Diesel. Him trying to come off as a heel by his lonesome just doesn't click the same way.
  17. Blonde Rhea Ripley is one lip snarl away from being full Billy Idol at this point.
  18. Showing the Pat McAfee-Adam Cole thing on NXT TV made Cole look even more like a geek. Not to mention being physically dwarfed by a guy who's position is normally the smallest guy on an NFL team.
  19. MJF out here just lobbing truth bombs left and right.
  20. I legit thought for a second that lady in MJF's receiving line there was Ronda Rousey.
  21. FTR trying hard to get a styrofoam cooler full of beer over as a weapon. Also I think I figured out the problem with the Mr. Brodie Lee character: It's hard to be an evil Vince standee when you look like a thin Mick Foley in a suit.
  22. Jericho is great.
  23. They were doing an angle with Tony Khan on Twitter where they complained they weren't being listed in the tag team rankings and Tony said it was because they weren't officially signed yet. So I suppose the decision is in theory them announcing they're "officially" signed, but I wouldn't be surprised if its the kick off of something big.
  24. I mean, with Mauro at least you know he's being himself (for better or worse), Beth sounds like she's tied to a chair and being given electric shocks any time she isn't yelling.
  25. NXT never really knew what it wanted to be. Was it a developmental group? Showcase of indy superstars? 80s JCP TV done modern? Home of high level women's wrestling? They tried to be all things and in the end it never really was able to do any of those things.
