Weird that Bray specifically called out Austin in the Funhouse segment, which made me think the Fiend was going to attack him at the end of the show.

So when I check my bank account, it will sometimes mark stuff like "this is a purchase you haven't made before" in case it is some kind of fraud deal. It flagged my purchase of AEW tickets, which made me realize it showed up on my account as "TM- BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN".

The only one I could think of that comes anywhere close is Flair, really. He was at or near the top everywhere he was at from about 1975 until 2001, and then periodically in his last WWE run. The difference with Negro is while he's obviously slowed down a bit, he's not gone into the "embarrassing old man" stage most fall into at his age.

Plus you have to consider UG's a main booker in CMLL so he probably looked at the options for a singles main event and thought "fuck it, put em in a cage and I'll face the winner". Also AAA seemed to set up some angles for Heroes Immortales, looks like Taya and Akayo Hamada are going to be doing something, possibly a ladder match since they beat each other up with one (and other assorted plunder) in their match. They also had Argenis (Caristico's brother) state that Myztezeiz Jr doesn't have the right to wear that mask since he's not part of the family (Myzteziz was the gimmick the original Mistico used in AAA, the Jr is the former Angelikal who is in fact not related to them at all but is Bandido's cousin). Argenis then laid him out and bloodied him up, to the point where Jr ended up doing a stretcher job. So that's probably going to be a mask match at some point. Then Wagner came out during the main event wearing a Mankind-like mask to sell the fact he got hit in the face with a goddamned cinderblock, and proceeded to bash Blue Demon's hand with a hammer. It was noticeable that a lot of folks got new themes on this show, mostly replacing actual songs with in house music. Psycho Clown got new music too, which was odd since it wasn't already an existing song prior, but maybe AAA felt the generic circus music wasn't proper for a main eventer. It was also noticeable that Wagner still came out to Bad Medicine because of course he did.

It is kind of weird though, you'd think someone like Shane would get out of jury duty since A: he's rich and B: you'd think lawyers on both sides would think having him on a jury would be a distraction (unless the rest of the juror pool was old ladies who've never heard of wrestling).

It was a clear reference to the jokes about how HHH replaced Shane as Vince's "real son" and how Shane's like the Tiffany Trump of the McMahon family. Like El-P said, Dave has a pretty deadpan sense of humor and the people who want to play gotcha on Twitter with his words almost always fail to realize this. Also that MeltzerSaidWhat account was one of the main things stoking the "Dave called Peyton Royce fat" kerfuffle when it was clear Dave was just trying to find a way to point out she was better in the ring before she got her main roster mandated boob upgrade. That whole feed is a hellscape of concern trolling and gotcha attempts.

Ciber's been pretty bad just kept to trios though, I wouldn't be surprised if they thought having UG try do a Anniversary show main event singles match with him was too much of an ask (despite the fact I'm fairly sure UG could manage a decent match with any of us here).
-
Also it's probably a case of whoever the last two in the cage match are (most likely CIber the Main Man and Ultimo Guerrero) was probably meant to be the main event, but CMLL didn't think they could do a singles match without sucking. The problem with this particular match is it's composed entirely of people too new for the CMLL audience to care about losing, or there's no way they are going to lose in a clusterfuck cage match. Also a pretty "only in Mexico" moment happened on today's AAA taping being shown on Twitch: Santana and Ortiz showed up being billed as LAX, despite Impact helping AAA run their NYC show. Because wrestling promotions in Mexico don't give a fuck about what gimmicks you have copywritten.

I would wager there was probably some music that wasn't dubbed properly or somesuch thing. That's usually the reason things get pulled that fast.

Hijo del Fantasma aka King Cuerno from Lucha Underground was officially announced as signed and will probably be the "hey it's that guy" in the crowd at the next Takeover. What makes that signing interesting is that he was famously getting a degree in International Relations and his dad is the head of the Lucha Commission so he's likely going to have a low tolerance for WWE nonsense since he has the wrestling equivalent of fuck-you money (they need him more than he needs to be in WWE).

ICP are always great. No matter if you like their music, Violent J in particular is a great interview, really smart guy, and funny as hell. Not to mention they "get" wrestling more than most of the people in the business.

All I know is that this whole Kylie Rae deal is going to get a whole bunch of "wrestling reporters" bothering someone who's obviously going through some shit just so they can score themselves Cool Internet Points.

AAA has announced some matches for the show on 9/15 at the Hulu Theater in NYC: Cain Velasquez/Psycho Clown/Brian Cage vs Taurus/Texano Jr/Rey Escorpion AAA Tag Titles: Lucha Brothers vs Santana/Ortiz AAA Women's title: Tessa Blanchard vs Taya Valkyrie Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Blue Demon More matches will be added involving Impact wrestlers. As much of a mess it's been getting this show off the ground, the card looks pretty good so far.

I get the guy's point, but on the other hand it's really not that hard to find other channels on YouTube. If you subscribe to any of the channels in the AEW Extended YouTube Universe (no they don't really call it that, I'm just being glib) the algorithms will end up suggesting you check out the others. Having said that, they really should streamline things in that area. My guess is they will probably use the official AEW account for most things and the TNT one will probably be for PPV pre shows. BTE was basically their "TV" for all intents and purposes before they had anything else, so having an actual TV show kind of eliminates the need for it to exist anymore.

There may be issues with footage featuring the non WCW folks on those shows.

Don't forget Jesse Ventura and Jack Reynolds hosted Prime Time Wrestling for the first 6 months or so of it's existence. -
Yeah, but apparently the fight was due to some political stuff from Japan. Bea allegedly cost Sadie a job and when they were together backstage shit went down. Kenny probably should have known since he's the one who would be most aware of Joshi goings-on, but I don't know if I can completely blame AEW for something they weren't involved in. The belt is just lol though. In a weird way it's kind of great it happened to Jericho since it fits in with his gimmick/real life persona. I mean, I know when I heard the story I was like "yeah, that sounds about like something Jericho would do". They have a spare belt, and they can always make another one so at least that story is just funny. You can't have people bringing in outside BS to your locker room and fighting about it. I would hope now that they are aware of any potential issues they will make sure it's not tolerated.

The NWA using this opportunity to shill their "10 pounds of gold" belt buckles had me rolling too.
