WWE TV 10/14 - 10/20 Randy Orton is the Tom Brady of WWE
sek69 replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Microsoft can't convince the Japanese to buy video game consoles, I doubt WWE can convince them to support NXT Japan. I suppose the smallest of the small indies might get hurt, but I can't imagine any Japanese promotion of significance. -

This will fail hard if they attempt it, culturally it will be very difficult to get acceptance as a foreign company in Japan, especially one that would be run against established Japanese companies. -

New company mandate after they got heat a while back for splitting up IRL couples with the draft. It's why Andrade is on RAW (both for him and Charlotte and Zelina/Alistar Black). -

So the most low-key entertaining act in WWE, Truth and Carmella, got broken up because the 24/7 title is a USA invention and Carmella is on SD because Corey is over there. -

I did. The rap on Satin was that he was angling to get a WWE gig, and I never really saw that until after he did the PR tour of the Performance Center. Ever since he's been 100% shilling everything related to WWE to the point I thought he was doing a bit. Before the Bix thing he was raving about the WWE2K20 game, and was fighting with people who were pointing out it's been a buggy piece of trash that looks like a budget PS2 game for years. Arguing that the thing AEW needs is more TV writers who don't know about wrestling is a pretty galactic brain take though. -

Two hours is fine if it's the only show the promotion has for the week. A two hour show a few days after a three hour show (and a few days before a 3-4 hour ppvs once a month) is way too much of a time investment for anyone who hasn't already spent years following the company. -

It's just hilarious that they hyped up the draft and at the end of the day barely anyone actually switched shows, and most of the ones who did are midcarders who are interchangeable. -

Poor Bray, every time he has a home someone burns it. Also LOL @ the heroic babyface getting the holy shit booed out of him there. -

So they released images of the arenas in (the terrible looking) WWE2K20, and they have the Mae Young Classic, multiple Takeovers, that Australian Super Show they did, literally every TV and PPV arena except You Know What. So the show they are pushing as Just As Big As Wrestlemania can't be recreated in their own game.* *It'll get made by fans, but let's see if it gets deleted like Chris Benoit CAWs do. -

He might end up being good, might end up not being much of anything, but Mansoor deserves better than to be the token Saudi on the Crown Jewel shows. -
WWF/SWS SuperWrestle show from 12/12/91, as seen on Japanese TV. Some highlights: Young Minoru Suzuki beating ass in the montage of clips. The Rockers in mid breakup angle in their match. Kerry Von Erich looking tentatively at the staircase that everyone had to walk down on the entrance way with a look of "really, you're going to make the guy with one foot do this?" The LOD being introduced as the Road Warriors complete with Iron Man as their theme. Earthquake being billed as Earthquake John Tenta due to him being known from sumo, then the crowd popping for him and Animal doing a mid match sumo face off. Hogan being in full Japan Hulkster mode, having a pretty solid technical match with Tenryu. The crowd and the announcers not really reacting to the Big Boot/Legdrop of Doom combo but coming unglued for the AXE BOMMMMBA!!

I mean....if us randos on the interwebs knew what would happen if you come at Reby, surely her own sister-in-law had to know. Plus, yeah Reby's gonna Reby but she's 100% right here. It looks like Jeff's wife is at best in denial at how bad his problems are and at worst she's straight up enabling him. If I had to guess (based on growing up in a family full of folks with alcohol issues) is that she doesn't want to rock the boat and lashes out at anyone who points at the elephant in the room.

Liger's retiring and Suzuki's a freelancer who's rumored to be leaving at some point. They might just say "fuck it" and go all Dustin Rhodes-Blacktop Bully.

Speaking of that, one thing AEW got criticized about on the first show was the Moxley run in with the ref looking not being a DQ. They made a point to make sure the refs were put in a position to not look like chumps in week two, showing they learned more in a week than WWE shows in months if not years.

The worst part of the SD rating is the 50+ stayed the same as last week but the 18-49 demo dropped. So the same old folks who've been watching stayed but the young folks who checked out last week didn't. Pretty much confirms that WWE is the brand equivalent to the "How do you do, fellow kids" meme at this point.
