    AEW Dynamite Week 1

Nyla is green, but big person vs tiny person is one of those things that almost always works, especially when the smaller person can work.

Also lucha dudes in suits is always money.

    AEW Dynamite Week 1

I wasn't expecting Scorpio Sky to do a good Obama impression, but here we are.
  4. Dinner at the Cole/Baker household must be fun. "Good luck on USA, dear" "Hope we run you out of business honey"
  5. ....and a 15 minute overrun at the end too!

    AEW Dynamite Week 1

If anything, working for CMLL makes him a greater candidate to leave for AEW (or anywhere else for that matter).

    AEW Dynamite Week 1

The countdown show was pretty awesome btw. Introduced the important players, ran down the history of the company, and really brought the point home that they want to offer something for fans who are looking for something different.

    AEW Dynamite Week 1

I really doubt Enzo and Cass were ever in the plans, and even if they were ever in consideration surely the reaction they got at MSG would have torpedoed that idea.
  9. Yeah I'm thinking AEW will get the first watch at least for the first few weeks. At this point NXT is a known quantity, AEW is something unknown as a TV product that will probably be entertaining for all sorts of reasons.
  10. Since my work week is Tuesday-Saturday, I'll either watch both on DVR when I get home or watch one on my iPad at work and the other when I get home. Speaking of, when the next day ratings come out and the fanboys start claiming victory, remember most networks go by the live+7 where its the live viewings plus any DVR viewings within a week.
  11. So apparently the Brock/Rey stuff was a backdoor angle if they are able to sign Cain. Beating up the Mexican legend so he can be the hero defending his honor, and also the promo Paul did later where he said there were a lot of fake tough guys in MMA was another part of that.
  12. It's really hilarious that no one seems to have the nerve to tell Vince that DVRs exist in 2019 so all this mid 90s level maneuvering won't mean dick today if people want to watch both shows. This isn't 1996 where you have to deal with pain-in-the-ass VCRs to tape one show while you watch another, or flip channels constantly.
  13. That's usually how it's presented: In theory the mask/hair is so valuable it's important to escape ASAP.
  14. That would be Survivor Series unless you count Blood Money in the Bank.
  15. That'll show him for thinking he could marry above his WWE sanctioned level. Also Seth at least got attacked by the Fiend instead of crying in the corner, so that's.....an improvement?
  16. The older Ric gets, the more he looks like Freddie Blassie.
  17. Watching on a bit of a delay, just noticing that switching from a singlet to trunks makes Otis look like a deranged Dusty Rhodes.
  18. Apparently the ambulance company stated someone called them that morning and told them the show was cancelled so their services would no longer be needed. If NJPW wasn't aware of the regulations there wouldn't have been anything to cancel.
  19. Women's matches in WWE did make a pretty dramatic leap in quality going from the Attitude era and the "models with no ability" era to now where there's an actual attempt to have good matches (for the most part). Charlotte/Sasha comes off like Misawa/Kawada compared to the lingerie pillow fight type of stuff.
  20. Recency bias is a hell of a drug, I've lost count of how many times after a good match/show people rave how it's the BEST EVAR.
  21. Ultimo Guerrero won so it wasn't anyone who needed a rub anyway.
  22. That's some old school skullduggery right there. I'm not going to point any fingers but taking advantage of local regulations to get a rival show canceled is certainly a time honored carny move.
  23. This seems to indicate that Fox should be available in some parts.
  24. Seems like you guys up north kind of get boned on both sides. According to Dave the tie up in AEW getting international TV deals is that they have to run through TNT for approval and they seem to be taking their time. They are talking with TSN to be their partner in Canada but they sure are cutting it close. For Smackdown, I'm not sure. Fox is an over the air network in the US, are there any options for that in Canada?
  25. I can't help that those of us who were around for the Monday Night Wars era are looking at this coming week like this:
