AEW's in that place NXT is in with Takeovers where all their shows should be at least decent, with the possibility of being great if something catches fire.

Wasn't part of them getting the TNT deal based on having an established star like Jericho as champ at the start? Having a heel champ to build a new babyface star wouldn't be the worst way to kick off a new TV show.

They were struggling to sell tickets period, had to move the show from MSG to the theater next door (which honestly they should have aimed for in the first place). They were hoping to get AEW guys involved, but AEW isn't going to let their guys work for other promotions inside the US.

It's always been a little fishy to me, especially considering Lawler's been at times the most low-key and high-key scummy guy in wrestling (but hey, he throws a great punch so *handwave*). Even before everything happened with Brian, his response to those who got swindled was all "I promise to get to the bottom of this and everyone will get what they were owed" then there was zero followup. Then he went on local Memphis TV where he's still treated like a god to make sure he garners maximum sympathy and all the heat was on Moore. My personal theory is that they both thought they had a nice side hustle selling Lawler memorabilia, and Moore either got greedy or some shit happened in his personal life and he started promising more than he knew he could deliver.

AAA announced today that Impact will be helping them promote their New York show, and said Impact talent will be appearing on the show.

Reminds me of one of my earliest fan memories. I went to an NWA house show in 1987 (I was nine), and joined in with an older kid in front who was yelling "Dick Murdoch is playing with himself!" during the "heel fishes in his trunks to pull out a foreign object behind the ref's back" routine. My parents were mortified.

Isn't it so weird he would say that, yet it's not like Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey were sporting Lex Luger bodies in an era where that was far more important? Not to mention he made most of his money feuding with Ricky and Robert, who had bodies like most of the fans in the front row.

Funny considering Vince can't seem to quit Brock, and keeps throwing cash at him every time his deal is up. I mean, Brock's got no problem with jobbing clearly, but I can't imagine he's a joy to deal with.

I think Orton's pretty good when motivated, hell he might even be better than Piper if he didn't quarter-ass 3/4ths of his career. To claim he's all around better makes me worry all the issues going on in Brazil have broken poor brother KawadaSmile's brain once and for all.

It's a weird reaction since you would expect the first thing you'd do if you were involved in shady dealings is to have enough dirt on everyone else in case shit goes down (or maybe I've just been following the wrestling business too long).
