She was also surrounded by people who would tell her that too. Dixie always came off to me as a casual fan, maybe a little more. She clearly was into it, but never struck me as a hardcore fan. Tony on the other hand, if you told me he posts on boards like this I wouldn't be surprised. Also bringing in people like Chris Harrington to run numbers and help with the business is pretty non-money mark kind of move to me.

It's a pretty bad look when when you book a major show completely unaware of a major sporting event in the same city. I don't know what the Brits think of NXT UK, but something like this makes them look like carpetbaggers.

That's creative's job, take these guys that make you think "he's pretty good" and put them in compelling situations to make you want to pay to see them do pretty good things. The fact that they constantly fail at doing that shouldn't be seen as a slight on the talent.

I'm reminded that there are three scholars set to be executed after Ramadan (which I believe is Tuesday), so I suppose they want to have something distract from that.

It's odd that WWE being WWE, they wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops about how progressive they are and how they single handedly created women's sports in SA or whatever. Considering their Officially Approved Corporate Response that nearly every one there has stated verbatim when asked about it is "we're doing it to bring change", it's odd that their play is seeming wait for the day of the show and be all "surprise! women!"

Man, it was great seeing him clearly enjoy what he was doing in what must have felt like the first time in forever.

So word is Nattie and Alexa are on the flight to Parts Unknown because WWE is hoping they will be allowed to do a match on the show. I hope it all goes well, but that seems like something that could go sideways in a hurry.

Every time I see him, I think he should do a gimmick like Beast from the X Men where he's a big scary monster who's also super smart and well spoken.

I know I sound like Dave, but his New Japan matches were excellent as well. It wasn't as character oriented as LU of course, but he was able to get himself over pretty quickly.

WWE just uploaded a bunch of videos on their YouTube page of Kofi's visit to Ghana. Hopefully that means we get a segment on it tonight. The crowds coming out to meet him and meeting the tribal Chief made him look like a huge star.

Here's an interesting story about Lorne Michaels of SNL fame that reads awfully close to another 70 year old entertainment mogul we all know and love.

There's really no reason for them to not work with them, except culturally a Japanese company will not go back on a partnership unless the other side wronged them somehow. I see it all the time in the video game industry with equally baffling results.

Interesting they are doing a WWE 24 on Ronda when she's still out indefinitely on her Sexapalooza 2019.

LOL @ Carmella and Spud doing the "Superkick papers out of someone's hand" spot that HBK did so some rando backstage.

Bray is in ridiculous shape though. I need Puppet Satan Vince to be my trainer.

Huskus the Pig Boy? Just when you think the FireFly Funhouse couldn't get any more meta.

Well they're selling this beatdown better than anything they've done in a while, I'll give them that. We got Owen Voice and everything.

I get no one here likes Seth, and I'm not particularly in love with the guy either, but he deserves better than a Corbin feud and being made a chew toy for Brock.

According to the fan in question, the one who escorted him to the back was Hunter Johnston, who's apparently dating Mandy Leon. Not a good look for ROH. I'm sure the guy was not as innocent as he's making himself out to be, but you can't have two guys on the creative team out there acting like they're 1984 Bill Watts.

It's jarring to see Nikki Cross looking like a normal woman around all the other women who've been WWE Glam Squad-ed to bejezus and back. Plus her going from crazy feral member of Sanity to "golly gee someone wants to be my friend" has been quite a character arc so far.

Dave has mentioned more than once that most if not all of the infamous "Stephanie emasculates a guy" segments were designed by Vince to keep her looking strong with no thought put toward the other person involved. I think your theory is pretty spot on, in a lot of ways Vince is just another territory promoter making sure their kid looks good when up against other people more equipped than they are.
-
See I probably would have got my ass beat if I was in that position because my smartass self would not have been able to mention the "your mom taught you how to suck dick" stuff he would say in ECW to the crowds.

Honestly I think it's part wrestling having a history full of money marks getting conned, and part WWE revisionism that anyone who has the money to run against them must be flawed somehow. Plus the WWE ride-or-die crew has to have something to hold on to. Their first two shows were both well received, they got a major TV deal, they got a top level WWE guy to come on board. The only thing they have left is the idea they're being run by a dumb money mark. I saw Tony being interviewed after Double or Nothing where he was geeking out over the show in a way that wouldn't have been out of place as a post on a board like this, dude's a fan but he clearly seems to know his shit.

Just the fact AEW is something a politician feels they can score points with is kind of amazing.

The biggest difference between the two companies is if you didn't like something on an AEW show, there will probably be something you did since nearly every match is different. If you didn't like something on a WWE/NXT show you probably won't like the whole show since everything is homogenized
