  1. Watching 84-85 Mid South, and thought about an interesting "what if". Shawn Michaels is on these shows in enhancement duty early in his career, and what surprised me is Bill Watts seems to be keen on him, even on job duty. Considering Shawn had a dislike of him that carried into the WWF years, it was surprising to hear him get put over like that. Made me think what would have happened if Watts decided to do something with him, and made him an NWA type guy instead of being in the right place at the right time when Vince was signing everyone who was working for Verne just to fuck with him.
  2. Yeah so much of this seems to be due to them getting pissed they got shown up by a fan while doing a tired "you're a virgin" routine. It's just funny ROH is pretending to spend so much time looking into this. Who's doing the looking? Surely not the folks actually running the show, Bully's cool with them. Sinclair couldn't care less what goes on inside the ROH locker room, who could possibly believe anything would come of this?
  3. To be fair to Taker, it looked like Goldberg stuck his head out on the Tombstone instead of tucking. Reminded me of that guy who broke his neck on the Styles Clash by having his head in the wrong position. Not denying Taker's too old to be doing this, but he's always been super protective when doing that move.
  4. Not to mention ROH said they completed their 48 hour investigation, which apparently didn't involve talking to the fan at all. So that tells you how hard they looked into it.
  5. Perhaps, but his reply of "off planning the next beheading" when asked why the Saudi ruling class weren't sitting on couches on the front row like last time was a pretty good "snarky 80s newsletter Dave" moment. He was clearly enjoying the opportunity to not have to walk on eggshells around the Offend-arazzi during the show.
  6. Not to mention Mansoor is probably already better at wrestling at this early stage than Tiger ever was. Also on top of everything else going on with that show, it's funny how it slipped under the radar that they were doing an outdoor show in JUNE in Saudi Arabia.
  7. He's shown up on both versions of NXT recently (US and UK), he wasn't too bad actually. Way too green to be getting a National Superhero type push of course, but they could have picked worse guys.
  8. She was also surrounded by people who would tell her that too. Dixie always came off to me as a casual fan, maybe a little more. She clearly was into it, but never struck me as a hardcore fan. Tony on the other hand, if you told me he posts on boards like this I wouldn't be surprised. Also bringing in people like Chris Harrington to run numbers and help with the business is pretty non-money mark kind of move to me.
  9. It's a pretty bad look when when you book a major show completely unaware of a major sporting event in the same city. I don't know what the Brits think of NXT UK, but something like this makes them look like carpetbaggers.
  10. That's creative's job, take these guys that make you think "he's pretty good" and put them in compelling situations to make you want to pay to see them do pretty good things. The fact that they constantly fail at doing that shouldn't be seen as a slight on the talent.
  11. I'm reminded that there are three scholars set to be executed after Ramadan (which I believe is Tuesday), so I suppose they want to have something distract from that.
  12. It's odd that WWE being WWE, they wouldn't be shouting from the rooftops about how progressive they are and how they single handedly created women's sports in SA or whatever. Considering their Officially Approved Corporate Response that nearly every one there has stated verbatim when asked about it is "we're doing it to bring change", it's odd that their play is seeming wait for the day of the show and be all "surprise! women!"
  13. Man, it was great seeing him clearly enjoy what he was doing in what must have felt like the first time in forever.
  14. So word is Nattie and Alexa are on the flight to Parts Unknown because WWE is hoping they will be allowed to do a match on the show. I hope it all goes well, but that seems like something that could go sideways in a hurry.
  15. Every time I see him, I think he should do a gimmick like Beast from the X Men where he's a big scary monster who's also super smart and well spoken.
  16. I know I sound like Dave, but his New Japan matches were excellent as well. It wasn't as character oriented as LU of course, but he was able to get himself over pretty quickly.
  17. WWE just uploaded a bunch of videos on their YouTube page of Kofi's visit to Ghana. Hopefully that means we get a segment on it tonight. The crowds coming out to meet him and meeting the tribal Chief made him look like a huge star.
  18. Here's an interesting story about Lorne Michaels of SNL fame that reads awfully close to another 70 year old entertainment mogul we all know and love.
  19. There's really no reason for them to not work with them, except culturally a Japanese company will not go back on a partnership unless the other side wronged them somehow. I see it all the time in the video game industry with equally baffling results.
  20. Interesting they are doing a WWE 24 on Ronda when she's still out indefinitely on her Sexapalooza 2019.
  21. LOL @ Carmella and Spud doing the "Superkick papers out of someone's hand" spot that HBK did so some rando backstage.
  22. Bray is in ridiculous shape though. I need Puppet Satan Vince to be my trainer.
  23. Huskus the Pig Boy? Just when you think the FireFly Funhouse couldn't get any more meta.
  24. Well they're selling this beatdown better than anything they've done in a while, I'll give them that. We got Owen Voice and everything.
  25. I get no one here likes Seth, and I'm not particularly in love with the guy either, but he deserves better than a Corbin feud and being made a chew toy for Brock.
