  1. Yeah, delaying needed surgery on someone his age due to complications is never a good sign. It's basically doctor speak for "we're afraid he's going to die if we operate right now".
  2. I was shocked that Cole actually mentioned Jeddah. That's the first mention I can recall of an actual geographic location since all the shit went down.
  3. It was obvious he was coming back since it was clear he was done with UFC. It's fine if they use him as a monster for Seth to overcome, but if they go back to Brock as perma-champ then it makes everything they've done redundant.
  4. I don't think I've ever seen anyone bounce as high off a ladder as Balor did.
  5. Also I totally thought Elias was wearing Bob...er ROBERT Roode's robe there.
  6. Yeah it's not really going to be that impressive when she ends up with a Jerry Lawler level number of championship reigns when she loses on her first defense every time.
  7. They're mentioning the refs screwing up too much for it not to be going somewhere at this point.
  8. Bayley cash in on Becky would be epic right now.
  9. I hope they are going to do some kind of angle with the refs, otherwise there's been some fuckups tonight.
  10. It's textbook WWE when you think they created the escape the cage rules so Bruno could lose without getting pinned (and build feuds), yet they are still doing it 40+ years later.
  11. Lacey "The Rainmaker" Evans
  12. So I guess the show long story will be Who Killed Sami.
  13. WWE Saudi Arabia Championship getting announced I suppose.
  14. Graves out here dropping truth bombs like "why are we even having this match?"
  15. lol @ Sonya playing James Ellsworth in this match.
  16. This was quite the gem from the daily WO update:
  17. The drop off from New Japan to the 2nd or 3rd biggest promotion in Japan has been a pretty big chasm for a long time. I suppose the argument can be made the gap has been closing, but it's still more along the lines of "tallest little person" than anything else.
  18. It's doubly stupid if it is a cover since A: how does he not have that sorted out yet (yes I know current US politics make it hard now, but it's something a company backed by a billionaire could probably figure out) and B: why come up with a cover story that makes Pac out to look like a self important douche?
  19. Not to mention he's not exactly the NWA champion in the 70s coming in knowing he's here to make the local guy look good while not losing clean. No knock against Dragon Gate, but AEW's looking to be a major national (if not worldwide) promotion. The champion of a place like Dragon Gate doesn't have much leeway to pull any "that doesn't work for me, brother" shenanigans.
  20. Comes off as either a weird flex by Pac or he still has some kind of PTSD from his WWE run. I get wanting to keep a title strong, but this isn't exactly jobbing the ECW champ to the WWE champ when ECW was still kinda sorta a major company. I couldn't name any title holders in Dragon Gate if you held a gun to my head.
  21. Elgin left to go to the greener pastures of Impact (which is also a telling sign of how NJPW values the gaijins).
  22. NJPW stuggling to sell tickets for non MSG shows since they left seems to indicate they were at least sort of correct though? We kept hearing how important the US expansion was, but they didn't seem to think they didn't need to keep the Elite guys around. Six man tags with LA Dojo guys don't seem to be cutting it.
  23. In terms of scale, yeah, but Hollywood is way bigger than wrestling so that would be expected. Pound for pound it's pretty darn close.
  24. Gotta love the lengths WWE goes when someone dies to make it clear they no longer worked for the company/weren't at fault for the death/the person loved the company still. It's a real telling indicator of the status of wrestling too, by all rights Vince should have been the first in front of the firing squad when #metoo first became a thing.
  25. Of course he does, Vince always escapes repercussions since the non wrestling world just considers him the wacky rasslin' guy (to his eternal disdain). He shouldn't, of course, but it's been shown time and time again that's what happens.
