  1. There's a new guy that started where I work who looks exactly like the Big Show only he's a normal sized dude. It trips me out every time I see him, and he probably thinks I'm some kind of psycho.

Don't know if anyone else listened to it, but Dave pretty much came out and stated mid card guys are refusing runs with the IC belt now since it's seen as a career killer. They'd be right, but who would have thought it would come to that for the belt that used to headline non Hogan shows in the 80s.

Yes, it was going to lead somewhere but it was either forgotten about or Plans Changed.

I liked Foley's promo, but bringing him out is just going to remind people of his match in the cell and how anything done in 2014 is going to pale in comparison.

I like that "Royal Rumble Stats" style promo they did for Hell in a Cell. I still maintain "THAT'S GOTTA BE KANE" is Announcer Vince at his peak.
  6. I love that the ultimate bad ass fighting chick Ronda Rousey goes out in public wearing glasses like my Aunt Mildred used to wear when I was a kid. Ronda's probably don't have the neat faux pearl chain my aunt's had though.
  7. The basis of any independent contractor case is if the company in question tells the worker where and when to work and limits them from working for other parties, then they are an employee and not independent. WWE gets away with what they do because no one wants to be the Curt Flood of wrestling and end unfair labor practice at the cost of getting blackballed.
  8. So it probably won't matter since most wrestlers lack the means and/or testicular fortitude to pursue it in court, but this ruling could give them the legal leg to stand on if anyone ever wants to challenge the whole "independent contractor" deal.
  9. There were certainly times where it dipped in value, but it stopped being of any worth when they brought back Big Gold and that took the role the IC title had as belt for top level guys to feud over when the WWE title was elsewhere occupied. Having WWE and WHC titles made any other singles title meaningless, and now even when they are back to one belt WWE is too ingrained in their mindset of not giving a shit about secondary titles to do anything about it,
  10. The cruiserweight episode might be the most BS one of them all. The idea that the lighter guys were better in WWF is so comical it's almost coming off as a deliberate troll job. It reminds me of the South Park episode on Mormons where they go over their beliefs with a scroll on the screen THIS IS WHAT THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVE.
  11. Pretty sure he did too, but he's said he got so behind he wouldn't go again. I guess WM being almost literally in his back yard changed his mind. I think Dave is just a human shark who will die if he stands still too long.
  12. Yeah that sounds like it would have been the one where it debuted. Not sure why it got dubbed since Wikipedia states that was a Jim Johnson joint. Surely they have the rights to their in house musician?
  13. The newest one uploaded has the intro with everyone brawling on the rooftop has the theme hilariously overdubbed. I don't think they were using Marilyn Manson yet, but for the life of me I can't recall what the original. theme was.
  14. I've had it since day one, also had Classics On Demand as soon as I could get it too. I'm in the camp of it's worth the $9.99 just for the PPVs alone. I saw they recently just hired someone to head up the network to replace Perkins Miller, so maybe that will be the start of them getting their shit together uploading content again.
  15. I love when I watch old Nitros and remember stuff like Konnan going from day glo luchador to thugged out chulo by joining that feared street gang the Dungeon of Doom. Also as someone who watched Nitro and Raw at the same time, it's easy to see when Raw had something good on since there's large segments of these Nitros I've never seen before.

I laughed at the comment from the parody WWE Creative twitter account that asked what is it about Atlanta that makes wrestling companies give away PPV main events for free on TV.
  18. Yeah, I was reading that email thinking "well if ads mean they can hire someone to upload stuff again I'm ok with that". Besides, Hulu Plus runs ads during shows all the time and that's a paid service like the Network.
  19. Neither company has officially released any numbers, but Dave has stated that ROH had a goal in mind for the shows they've run and by and large once they got past the techincal issues that messed up the first few iPPVs they seem to be at or above expectations. TNA's buyrates as of late have been pretty damn close to statistically zero. Not to mention saying TNA should still be considered #2 because it once achieved things ROH has yet to do is kind of like saying the AWA was still a top level promotion in 1990 because they did big numbers in the 60s and 70s.
  20. So does anyone else agree that ROH has passed TNA as the default #2 promotion at this point? I know their TV situation isn't 100% ideal, but it seems that in pretty much all other aspects they seem to be ahead of them.
  21. On a related note, I just now realized I never knew $ was the currency symbol for pesos before seeing that pic.

Speaking of, I noticed how similar Dean and Seth's theme music is when I can't tell who's coming out until the song gets to the bridge.
  23. It comes across to me that he definitely makes harder cases for/against certain folks and that it has a tendency to sway the results. He'd never come out and say "this guy better get voted in" but it's not usually hard to guess who he's rooting for either. I get he probably just wants everyone to have as much info as possible on all the candidates but it puts him in an awkward spot of basically having to advocate for guys who may not be as well known while being the one who keeps the castle so to speak.
  24. I think people in the business probably care in the sense of realizing it's recognition from someone who's been covering pro wrestling for 30+ years but I doubt anyone loses sleep over falling off the ballot. Also all this discussion has made me kind of wonder what at PWO Hall of Fame would look like.
  25. Yeah wasn't a big part of his entrance fans running up to the railing so they could get knocked over as he bulled his way to the ring?
