  1. I still can't figure out why Christian was squashed so thoroughly by Kane in their Gold Rush match. I'm not completely disagreeing with Kane going over as much as I'm puzzled how Christian was clearly gaining momentum as a potential breakout heel only to get less offense than Iron Mike Sharpe.
  2. They wouldn't be hosting it, the only connection would be that the users of the FTP would also post here. Almost everyone here communicates via IM so you wouldn't have to advertise it here.
  3. I've seen this idea batted around, but considering the interest in the classic matches threads I think it would be a good idea. We should set up an FTP server where people can upload classic matches, shoot interviews, or whatever. Web based places like YouSendIt either aren't reliable or they have limitations on filesize or downloads that just serves to annoy everyone. If you're late to the party, you miss out. I'm sure we could work out some method of setting this up, maybe even have everyone who'd benefit chip in a coupla bucks. Passwords could be put in place to discourage leechers and save the bandwidth for the folks who contribute. What do you guys think?
  4. It's almost to the point where they have to do a more thorough roster shuffling due to all the newly-emptied roster spots.
  5. With all the releases lately, requested or otherwise, how do you think that plus the upcoming draft will change things on WWE TV? A lot of the openings now are background/role player types that can let a guy fresh from OVW work the green off without being expected to carry a big storyline. It really isn't fair now how they pull guys from OVW, give them a completely new (and usually lame) gimmick and expect them to be over right out of the box. In fact, it's what they did with the Rock, after Third Generation Blue Chipper Rocky went over like a lead balloon he was put in a stable that allowed him to gradually work on his skills until he ended up overshadowing the entire group.
  6. OMG RAYCIST!! BAN PLZ~!~! Seriously, I didn't expect Luther to get released. He's got the WWE-mandated hoss credentials and he's not completely terrible in the ring.
  7. Heyman's rant at Vince during the Invasion was as classic as well.
  8. Somehow I think this is completely kayfabed. I can't imagine Molly not having a problem with having to put over talentless Diva sluts, and I can't imagine Vince being so gracious as to let someone out of theor contract to attend church regularly. Obviously this HHH guy can't work main event style, he should be jobbing on Heat. Anyone who's surprised they botched the Heartbreakers hasn't been paying attention the last couple years.
  9. Here's one to settle a discussion I'm involved with: What was the motivation that led Crockett to sell JCP to Ted Turner? I was always led to believe Crockett was losing money.
  10. No title has lost as much prestige in the last 15 years as the NWA Title. Actually, you could make the argument that the IC belt has lost more than any belt. I may be a NWA mark, but just because it's not 1986 anymore doesn't mean the NWA belt is totally worthless. It's the only non-WWE title being defended on national televison in the US, which puts it above any other indy fed right now.
  11. I think some of that started when they moved to Viacom.
  12. I think the whole sports-entertainment thing came about when Vince was trying to avoid having the state athletic commissons monitor WWF shows. Pro wrestling has the connotation of being a legit contest where sports-entertainment makes it clear that it's all a show. It is pretty silly when they started calling the workers "sports-entertainers", which is almost as bad as their use of "physicality" instead of "violence".
  13. It must drive HHH bonkers that the guy who annoys him the most has ties to the one person who's arguably more untouchable with Vince than he is (Afa).
  14. I'd have to vote for Big Show. Just like when I voted against Tully, the Brainbusters' WWF run was too brief to be too meaningful.
  15. I know Flair wanted to drop the belt to Sting, but how is that any better than HHH not jobbing to Booker at WM because of Goldberg?
  16. Dusty wanted Flair to drop the belt to Rick Steiner, I believe, and Flair told him to fuck off.
  17. Anyone who worked in Florida was a favorite of Dusty's.
  18. I've heard that before and it doesn't make sense considering Luger was Dusty's boy from Florida. Why wouldn't Dusty push him to the top?
  19. I still don't get why Flair forever gets a pass for never letting Luger have a run with the title when he was the hottest thing in the business.
  20. Where'd Marty Jannetty go? Didn't WWE sign him after the Rockers reunion match? Wasn't there some plan to have them team on houseshows? For that matter, whatever happened to the idea of having Garrison Cade grow his hair out and feud with Shawn?
  21. Steamboat. The angle with Savage just by itself is better than anything Kurt's done in the WWF/E.
  22. Mr Perfect, Dynamite was broken down by the start of the time period we're considering.
  23. Randy Savage OOOOOH YEA, DIGIT~! SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!
  24. Razor Ramon I always felt he was the most underrated one of the clique until he completely fell apart out of the ring.
