  1. Would you mind providing a "rough draft"? I don't want to be spending a bunch of time nominating/discussing something and all of it be on the list already
  2. YOU know I had a similar thing going a year-two ago, but it was never that way. You think, I mean, really think RE is that way? Regarding conflict - without conflict, there is no story. A story cannot exist without some type/form of conflict. If someone tells you a story without conflict, thank them for wasting your time with meaningless words that have no central theme of importance. I'm the antithesis of RE then. I love the flawed protagonist, not the man or woman who can bench press 1,000lbs with their pinky and are invincible. Too bad this forum is wrestling only... Hopefully Seagal then, not now. The dude loves him ham sandwiches.
  3. Wait, RE wrote the Seagal piece too? As much flak as Seagal gets, the world would be a sad place without him...because there wouldn't be any Steven Seagal jokes.

If they keep selling well, we will eventually do every year. Are you guys planning on sticking with the 90s first - then moving on to the 00s, then the 80s? That is, if everything sells well
  6. I've never heard about this match before. Comparing it a Flair/Steamboat match and being #2 on your list makes me want to see it really bad.
  7. Many have pimped that match, and while I was one of them when the match took place, but that was then. I watched this some time ago (might need a re-watch), and disliked the excessiveness of the "lead" pipe usage. I mean, Scotty teed off on Goldberg in similar fashion to The Rock bashing in Mankind's head with a chair in their I Quit match. WCW didn't know how to book the two of them against each other in my opinion - it was like NJ in the 90s having all of those huge gaijins facing each other. Obviously, Goldberg/Steiner was better than most of those matches, but it could have been much better if booked and wrestled differently. As I said though, I need to re-watch it. Bill Goldberg TKO Sid Vicious (7:11). You're right, it is 100% longer
  8. I agree completely and I was a huge Goldberg mark in 98 (what thirteen year old wasn't?). I recently watched the DDP/Goldberg match. I hadn't seen it in years, and even though I still like both guys, it wasn't that good of a match. It was a good Goldberg match, which is saying a lot. It was a formulaic Superman match, which bothers me, but I dug the deadlift Jackhammer at the end. Makes me think - how many good Goldberg matches are there?
  9. What aren't you understanding from that? TEW = Total Extreme Warfare. In the game, workers can refuse jobs/angles *without* having creative control. And unless I am mistaken, if The Undertaker does not possess Creative Control in his contract, he cannot legally refuse to do a job/angle.
  10. While I'm not on the side of the argument comparing draws in Japan - cause I don't have the knowledge of the gates - similarly, I also am not doubting the significance of the TM/DK series either. I know how important the series was to Junior Heavyweight wrestlers. The series is still influencing young juniors today. I know you weren't singling me or anyone else for that matter out, but I wanted to clarify those two issues. Nevertheless, where my claim to this threads fame is concerned, is about the match quality. When the first match happened, it was revolutionary. Epic would be a good word for it. However, watching the series in today's age, it does not hold up. Some might say that detracts from the importance of the series, but I disagree. Without Night of the Living Dead we would have never had Dawn of the Dead, and without the original Dawn, we would have never had the remake in 2004. This is how I interpret the series: Tiger Mask vs. Dynamite Kid = Night of the Living Dead Like the TM/DK series, NOTLD was a masterpiece in its respected field. While it wasn't a 100% film, it nonetheless was revolutionary in more than one particular way. But, as time progressed, the film, like the TM/DK series, started to show its age. It was quietly replaced with: Jushin Liger vs. Pegasus Kid = Dawn of the Dead A new canvas to explore new possibilities which were unavailable from the original series. This series holds many similarities, but also improvements in many way. However, just like the original, this series showed its age as brighter and better things appeared not too long after. KENTA vs. Bryan Danielson = Dawn of the Dead (2004) The modern age has been reached. The movie is scarier than its counterparts and the wrestling is better than its predecessors. In regards to both, they are flashy, edgier, more fluidly paced, but like their older brother and father, they too will be replaced. (Is that a good analogy or it it stupid? I honestly feel guilty comparing NOTLD with TM/DK, but it fits...kind of.) Okay. You're fucking with us. Right? Right? Oh shit...
  11. Well, this isn't TEW, man. Unless Taker has creative control, he would have to lose the match in the fashion booked or be sued into poverty by Vince. Obviously that's worst-case scenario and would be absolutely terrible for Vince and co. to do...but nevertheless, it is the WWE.
  12. He said all of them combined.
  13. 8-3-91 Cactus Jack vs. Eddie Gilbert TWA (2 out of 3 falls) The first time I saw this, I was like 16 or 17, and it rocked my mind back then, even though it was a 3rd gen VHS dub. I watched it about a week ago, on a much better dub, and it's almost better then when I was a teenager.
  14. I asked Bob if he had this match and he said he didn't. Where can I find this match??? Some wrestling forum - the bottom post Looks like Loss might have it Ohtani's Jacket might have it Bix has it Bob's Site Hope that helps. EDIT: Damn, Bix beat me to it as I was researching. No gold star for me today...
  15. Snarkiest post of the Year? (Good one BTW). If TM could have hit that move, what would it be called. No, not a miracle, the move itself.
  16. Was Orton's wife tonight the same one from the home invasion angle with HHH a couple years back?
  17. The Streak > 8 WWF World Heavyweight Championships, 5 World Heavyweight Championships, 5 WWF Intercontinental Championships, King of the Ring, and Royal Rumble victory. Yeah, I don't see Hunter burying his title accomplishments unless he's winning. Man, I'm turning into a mark. I might need an intervention.
  18. If that is true, their match was obviously elevated over two World titles and puts the "Royal Rumble winner main events WrestleMania!" to bed.
  19. You know, I'd love to have that type of optimism regarding Hunter and more importantly, the WWE, but I just can't. I mean, how many times have they swerved us in the past - or destroyed characters? Not saying if Taker loses it'll destroy him character wise, but it will definitely do something to him, and to that degree, Triple H too. They did, after all, de-mask Kane, which ruined him for a lengthy period of time, as the "scars" were only psychological. The WWE does have a track record of doing the wrong thing, notably with HHH involved. Maybe I'm just being too pessimistic? At any rate, if Triple H does win - what's the end result?
  20. In 2001, Triple H faced The Undertaker at WrestleMania 17. Some of the IWC (myself included) feared that Hunter would end the streak because of his already sizable pull in the company. Obviously, that didn't happen, and the IWC had a sense of relief. Now, ten years later, Triple H is once again pitted against The Undertaker at WrestleMania (27). Things have changed considerably since WrestleMania 17. Hunter went from dating Stephanie to marrying her to having children with her. His position in the company sky-rocketed (as a result of his relationship), which is evidenced by countless PPV main-events and World title reigns. Furthermore, his position behind the scenes has also built up nicely too. He is still on the booking team and now, even has an office of his own. So, is Hunter finally the man to topple The Streak? And if so, is it a good thing or a bad thing?
  21. Saw this on PWTorch: Happened yesterday (3-18). I'd like to see that on Raw or as the reviewer said, WrestleMania.
  22. He did beat cancer though.
  23. I never had a problem with the way Kobashi acted, I mean, it wasn't HBK over-selling or the way The Rock would flip after taking a stunner. Not to sound RE-ish, but Kobashi's facial expressions remind me of a boxer who has been punched really hard in the jaw and is trying to get up/out of harms way. OH THE EMOTION~!
