Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve
Coffey replied to Coffey's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep when I randomly started thinking about Dino Bravo. He always struck me as someone that could've been something big had he not died so premature and then I realized how little of his work I've actually seen. So, y'all recommend me some Dino Bravo matches to seek out. -

Kenta Kobashi Vs. The Big Boss Man LINK Snuh? -
Even if Lesnar does win what kind of an impact is this going to have? I doubt anyone in the States outside of WWE could pay him what he'll want.

I just found out that Samoa Joe got a staph infection so the first ROH show that I'll be attending, which I wanted to see because of Joe, will now be Joeless. Fuck. -
In all seriousness, if TNA were told by Spike TV to bring in "another marquee name" why wouldn't they want Jericho? He's a big name with a helluva lot more upside to him than Sting. If Jericho wants "Sting money" they should jump all over it.

I wonder what advice The Rock gave to Jeff Jarrett.

Yeah, that's kind of the point I was trying it make. It's like, what's a wrestler have to do to get a clean slate or a second chance? If you made a bad first impression you're regarded as a shitty worker for life? That doesn't seem fair. Henry hasn't done anything wrong, on TV, since his return. I think he's been playing his role fine and being involved with MNM & Davari will just help his cause more.

I'm still a big fan of Triple H. The thing I dislike most about him is his name. I'd prefer if he just went by Hunter or something. Since becoming the Ric Flair rip-off, I've liked him the most. He's a dominant heel and I like his ring work. People can complain about his backstage politics and his burying of people and all that, however on-screen, to me, he's entertaining. I still mark out pretty hard for Raven. He was my favorite active wrestler back when he was in WCW and running the Flock. He's also the reason I went out of my way to start watching ECW. Kevin Nash on commentary is gold. I like watching Jim Cornette fall from a scaffold and blow out both of his knees. Crazy bastard. I already said the Dudleys on page one but the reason is because of the Dudley Death Drop. To this day I think it's the best tag team finisher of all-time. Also, I'd put the Dudleys only behind the Freebirds as my favorite tag team ever. I liked The Cat in WCW threatening to go to his car to get his karate gi so he could "whoop everybody in here." Then, after commercial break, it showed the Cat at his car getting his gi. I like Scott Norton. Especially when The Cat called him out so Norton had to bust some blood vessels on his chest. Bob Backlunds heel run. I still mark for the Crossface Chickenwing as a finisher.

If done right, much like the Blue World Order, it'll still suck and be Wrestlecrap. I'm not one to write off things in wrestling before the play out but let's just say, I have my doubts about this angle. Especially since their debut was an attempt to put over the Coach. -
I'm curious how many of the people saying "It's Angle..." are the same people that will bash Angle in a match with another notorious good worker. Once again, I think it's the double-standard reering it's ugly head. Either everything he does is flawless or he gets nit-picked apart. What if Henry has a match with Benoit and it stunk? Instead of it being a good match and people saying "It's Benoit, what do you expect" we'd hear "It's Henry, what do you expect?"

I don't think that Michaels and Angle are terrible by any stretch of the imagination. They are great wrestlers. The problem is, they're great WWE wrestlers. So, they get "graded" with a finer toothed comb than other people like Mark Henry. HBK will mess something up, or do his kip-up spot and suddenly he lacks pyschology and selling skills. If Henry were to do it, people would be like "wow, I can't believe he can do a kip-up." OK, bad example, but the point still stands. Angle and HBK are like...the worst of the best. If they were just compared to the other wrestlers around them, they're good. When they're compared to the best workers in the world of all-time, their flaws start to stand out more. I think it was Cooey that rated the Royal Rumble match between Angle/Benoit at like ***. The majority of people that saw that match loved it. Yet, when he goes back and goes over ever second of the match, looking for negative aspects, he's going to find them. Other matches on the same card got a "free pass" so to speak. Just thoughtless snowflakes thrown out to them because it was stuff that won't be re-watched with participants that the IWC doesn't care about. I feel like a lot of people are already writing off the Angle/Henry match at the Rumble because of their preconception that Henry is a terrible worker that Angle, whom is sometimes spotty, won't be able to carry. However, personally, I'm looking forward to the match because Henry has impressed me as of late. Especially his match with Mysterio from Smackdown last week.

I still watch Raw. I still mark for the Dudley Boyz.

Bah, I think Prince Nana makes Rave what he is. At least as far as heat is concerned. Also, isn't Rave's gimmick that he "steals" finishers? He's used the Pedigree and Styles Clash and the like. -
Biggest difference being that Loss said he didn't watch the show. I think, at least for the most part, Alvarez makes his opinions after seeing the shows, however I could be completely wrong about that. That being said, Loss wasn't necessarily wrong I just felt like the surprised factor and the crowds turning on Cena were a good enough justification for a title switch. I'm all for attempts at making things less dull. Of course, Cena will probably get the title back next Sunday.

Well, all of them really. I was just curious if this would make it so they couldn't work ROH.

We just had 2, 10 & 38 as channels when I was young because we couldn't afford cable. So the only wrestling I got to see was Main Event on NBC on Sat. nights. So it's all I knew until we got cable and TBS. I'd never even heard of Ric Flair until I was probably eight or nine years old. That's when I started watching NWA and watching Nikita Koloff, Michael Hayes and The Great Muta. Until then, it was all about Hogan. We used to order the Survivor Series every year since all the family was over for Thanksgiving. My brother and cousin watched the show with me and we just tried to stay awake until the main event so that we could see Hogan. The Ultimate Warrior was the only other wrestler we really cared about back then.

He's the "Happy Homosexual?" It'll be a sitcome on UPN. A gay man with common sense trying to portray his opinion logically and clearly to a mass of uninterested, thick-headed rednecks. Sounds like a WWE gimmick.

Wow. Topgun Talwar is very unimpressive to me. Delirious is OK but is this going to be a conflict of interest because he sometimes works ROH? The Human Tornado is comedy. I can't believe he hasn't been sucked up by another promotion already. Justin Credible can't use that name, right? I haven't seen Vampiro in awhile, so that'll be interesting. Teddy Hart will be blackballed from here in a week or two as well. He's a fucking nutcase. Anyone want to bet on whom will miss the first date? Hart for being asked to not show up or New Jack because he'll be in jail?

To be fair, the internet wasn't around and a lot of us were A LOT younger and more markish then. It didn't matter how good a match was to me back then, if the heel lost and the face won, I was happy. Going back and rewatching the stuff nowadays, it's not the same.

I watched an episode of OVW from a week ago. Maria was the highlight of the show. She was hotter in OVW than I've ever seen her on Raw, if that's possible. I think she's my favorite "diva" of all-time now, at least physically, eclipsing Sunny from the 90's. CM Punk didn't impress me, however he was in a tag match. He won with the Anaconda Vice. I'm getting ready to watch ROH Vendetta from early November. -
Austin is in worse shape physically and has had multiple fallouts with the creative. It sucks because I'm not going to lie and act like I didn't wish he was still around. He's still damn entertaining to me and I didn't have a huge problem with him hitting the Stunner on "younger talent." I was, at the very least, hoping he'd become a color commentator one day.

I've heard the Undertaker part was disproven? That's where he supposedly "stared while taping his fists" right? Regardless, HBK still went through with it, so the point stands.
