I still watch Raw. I still mark for the Dudley Boyz.

Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve
Coffey replied to Coffey's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Bah, I think Prince Nana makes Rave what he is. At least as far as heat is concerned. Also, isn't Rave's gimmick that he "steals" finishers? He's used the Pedigree and Styles Clash and the like. -
Biggest difference being that Loss said he didn't watch the show. I think, at least for the most part, Alvarez makes his opinions after seeing the shows, however I could be completely wrong about that. That being said, Loss wasn't necessarily wrong I just felt like the surprised factor and the crowds turning on Cena were a good enough justification for a title switch. I'm all for attempts at making things less dull. Of course, Cena will probably get the title back next Sunday.

Well, all of them really. I was just curious if this would make it so they couldn't work ROH.

We just had 2, 10 & 38 as channels when I was young because we couldn't afford cable. So the only wrestling I got to see was Main Event on NBC on Sat. nights. So it's all I knew until we got cable and TBS. I'd never even heard of Ric Flair until I was probably eight or nine years old. That's when I started watching NWA and watching Nikita Koloff, Michael Hayes and The Great Muta. Until then, it was all about Hogan. We used to order the Survivor Series every year since all the family was over for Thanksgiving. My brother and cousin watched the show with me and we just tried to stay awake until the main event so that we could see Hogan. The Ultimate Warrior was the only other wrestler we really cared about back then.

He's the "Happy Homosexual?" It'll be a sitcome on UPN. A gay man with common sense trying to portray his opinion logically and clearly to a mass of uninterested, thick-headed rednecks. Sounds like a WWE gimmick.

Wow. Topgun Talwar is very unimpressive to me. Delirious is OK but is this going to be a conflict of interest because he sometimes works ROH? The Human Tornado is comedy. I can't believe he hasn't been sucked up by another promotion already. Justin Credible can't use that name, right? I haven't seen Vampiro in awhile, so that'll be interesting. Teddy Hart will be blackballed from here in a week or two as well. He's a fucking nutcase. Anyone want to bet on whom will miss the first date? Hart for being asked to not show up or New Jack because he'll be in jail?

To be fair, the internet wasn't around and a lot of us were A LOT younger and more markish then. It didn't matter how good a match was to me back then, if the heel lost and the face won, I was happy. Going back and rewatching the stuff nowadays, it's not the same.

I watched an episode of OVW from a week ago. Maria was the highlight of the show. She was hotter in OVW than I've ever seen her on Raw, if that's possible. I think she's my favorite "diva" of all-time now, at least physically, eclipsing Sunny from the 90's. CM Punk didn't impress me, however he was in a tag match. He won with the Anaconda Vice. I'm getting ready to watch ROH Vendetta from early November. -
Austin is in worse shape physically and has had multiple fallouts with the creative. It sucks because I'm not going to lie and act like I didn't wish he was still around. He's still damn entertaining to me and I didn't have a huge problem with him hitting the Stunner on "younger talent." I was, at the very least, hoping he'd become a color commentator one day.

I've heard the Undertaker part was disproven? That's where he supposedly "stared while taping his fists" right? Regardless, HBK still went through with it, so the point stands.
-
To be fair, HBK did give a pretty big rub to Steve Austin at Wrestlemania XIV. Austin was pretty popular at the time already but it certainly helped.
-
You should just be more blunt, Loss. With this quote right here, you should've just told the fucker your point was that he was a hypocrite.
-
Good to hear. How soon is soon? Maybe we should hold off on the whole columns thing until the move?

Personally, I don't know why y'all paid for the site to begin with. I didn't think Alvarez was all that e-popular. Most people just care what Meltz says nowadays. If this forum had more activity, like, more posters like what we have, I could see this site charging a fee. I think it'd be worth it. Hell, it'd be worth it just to upgrade to a "real" forum so we can use the search feature and shit.

Yeah, it never really made sense to me either. It's not like the matches get a lot of time. The matches that do get time are usually in the main event slot anyway. So, just throw a couple new people into a backstage skit or vignette one week and then different people the next week. For example, whatever happened to Trevor Murdoch?
-
..but he's a SIXTEEN TIME WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION and his DAUGHTER IS IN THE FRONT ROW~! Yeah, it didn't make a whole helluva lot of sense to me. Why would Flair want to do a TLC match? Why would Edge, when he just won the belt? It was just lazy booking. Edge will be lucky to walk out of next Sunday's PPV with the title.

I've read that line like a dozen times and I still have no idea what he means. Anyone? No really Bryan, tell me why it's different. I don't see the difference. Well, I can sort of see where he's coming from. The Rock & Hollywood Hogan had a lot of build-up. The nWo came back. It was Hogan's first match in WWE in a long time. Hogan and the Rock are two of the biggest stars in the history of the business. Angle and Michaels aren't. Angle and Michaels had a match on free TV with only a week build. Hogan/Rock had a match on the biggest wrestling show of the year, with at least a month build-up and the anticipation of Hogan's return and all that. So, I can see why he'd say that. It was different heat. The Toronto crowd gave the "oh shit, it's Hogan" "this is a dream match" type of nostalgia heat. The Raw match was the "who's going to win/this should be a good match" heat. When you look at it like that, the content of the match doesn't really matter. I guess that's what he's trying to say? Shit, I don't know. EDIT: I like what Rudo is saying. It's true. A lot of people seem to have a "free pass" as it pertains to match quality. It's like, just because HBK, Angle, Benoit, etc. have had good matches in the past, that doesn't mean that every match they have is going to be good. Just because Kane, A-Train & The Undertaker have had bad matches in the past, that doesn't mean that every match they have is going to be bad. People look at a line-up and some matches are automatically good before they ever happen. People look at a line-up and some matches are automatically bad before they ever happen. It's not really fair. Hell, people are already saying this years Wrestlemania "will be one of the worst ever." What the hell is that even based on?

Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve

Yeah, I really like that entrance too. She just seems like she's really good at getting heat. She plays a good bitch. I also really liked the finish to the Henry/Mysterio match. Obviously I would've rather had Rey win the match but I did like the finishing sequence. -

I've always been a pretty big fan of Yoko. The man was underrated. I really want to see that Hart match that got pimped. Bret was notorious for working in his opponents big three moves and Yoko's belly-to-belly suplex, leg drop and Bonzai Drop all looked like death when he connected with them. As far as HBK and cameramen go, let's say that I've at least noticed it. If it were something small or just a lil' work, I don't think I would've noticed it. It was the demeanor in which is happened, at least the WM11 one. I also was curious about the Sweet Chin Music on the timekeeper in the Ironman match with Bret Hart. It looked like he kicked that dudes head off. Did he really connect or was it just the best SCM ever? -
Oh, honestly, I have no idea. I'm pretty ignorant to Billy Graham and a lot of the other wrestlers of his era. Jim Ross just seemed really out of place to me on that list and I remembered him being all over the other DVD's so I thought I'd question it.

How big of a role did JR even have backstage in NWA? I mean, if he just called their matches, I don't need to listen to him call the Road Warriors "two studs" for an hour. I've rather hear the opinions of the people they worked with and shit instead. It just seemed silly to me.
