  1. I actually haven't seen Noble since he's been back. I need to go to WWE.com more often to check out how he's doing. I read the other day that he'll be touring with the Smackdown crew again. Hopefully he'll be back on TV soon. I'd like to see him dethrone Kid Kash and have a good run with the CW belt. Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing him win the US belt. Who knows what'll happen with that belt now that Booker T. is hurt. I think Noble & Burchill would be good additions to the US title scene. Actually, you know what? If WWE brought back Nidia just to stick her with Noble again, I'd be happy. They lead to some damn entertaining TV. I'll never forget when Noble won the belt so they played up that he had more money. He bought a new trailer. Noble: "Look Nidia." *walks towards sink. Turns on water.* Noble: "Runnin' water!" *Nidia starts crying* Noble talking about his Nidia being pure class was always gold. I'll make sure to check out the match. Thanks for the heads-up.
  2. Kurt Angle ~ He's entertained me a lot in the past. I liked his Royal Rumble match with Benoit. I liked a lot of his Smackdown 6 shit too. Hell, I even enjoyed his feud with Edge which led to him getting his head shaved. For the most part, however, Angle has always entertained me outside the ring more than inside it. His Team ECK crap was gold. I liked his storyline with HHH & Steph. Nowadays, since he's the "intense" Angle with a mouthpiece he doesn't really do it for me. People talk about how Angle sucks as a goofy, funny character but that's when I like him the best. Shawn Michaels ~ He had a good year in '05. It's pointless to pick apart his matches because they've been the same for his entire career and they're never going to change. We know that he's going to kip-up and no sell all the previous work done in the match. Outside of that though, he's pretty entertaining to me. At least in the ring. Outside the ring he hasn't done anything for me since D-X. AJ Styles ~ I'm not on the bandwagon. He's bland to me and blows a lot of spots. I don't think he's some phenominal worker like a lot of other people do. I don't think he's the guy TNA should be building around. Christopher Daniels ~ I think he's better than Styles but his gimmick is so hokey. I like him in the ring though. Kenta Kobashi ~ One of the best workers I've ever seen. Had a great '05 in my eyes and was my third vote for Wrestler of the Year. His ROH match with Samoa Joe, the tag match the next night and his NOAH match with Sasake put him up there for me. I still like him and don't relive his glory days because he's still better than a lot that we have here in the States. Necro Butcher ~ Drizzling shits.
  3. It's tough to say because it's all speculative. I will say that Hogan had a good look was a great talker and oozed charisma, so it's hard to disagree. His matches, although not technical masterpieces, were built well and unfolded with a lot of drama so that by the end of the match, you were pleading for Hogan to kick out. Then he would, Hulk Up, Legdrop and you were happy.
  4. I've always been a Nikita mark. I've talked about it in the past I'm sure. He was just so damn intense. He'd be cutting a promo, acting like a normal guy, dressed well, "I'm glad to be back in WCW." Three minutes later, his shirt would be ripped off, Luger would be laying beside him bloodied and he'd be screaming into the camera that Luger had his US title and then stick his tongue out and flex. It's like he'd just snap. It was great. He was a psychopath. I'm really interested to hear his shoot interview. I didn't know it existed.
  5. Of all the wrestling forums that I go to, this is probably the best topic created right now. It's a really thin line, however the differing opinions on the subject make it interesting. I've thought about it before. I've thought about both sides of the argument. If I didn't talk about wrestling on-line and read about the "insider" shit and all that, there's a chance I wouldn't even watch anymore. However, there's a chance that might still be a "mark" and enjoy damn near everything that's thrown at me. Instead of looking for psychology in a Benoit match I'd be looking for a Tombstone in an Undertaker match. I don't know, it's tough to say. If I didn't talk about wrestling on-line, how would I vent after a skit like the Armageddon Tim White suicide angle? Would I even need to vent about it? I remember watching WCW when I was still a mark. I liked Goldberg, however I wanted Nash to end the streak. Nash ended the streak and after that PPV, I went home happy. When I found the internet, shortly after that, one of the first things I read about was Nash's backstage politics and Goldberg's inability to work. Instantly my enjoyment of both guys went down as I was "enlightened." If I never would've read that, maybe the nWo or Goldberg coming back to WWE would've been a bigger deal to me. I don't know if I wanted to be enlightened but it wasn't like I could forget what I read. Without the internet, I wouldn't know about Puro. I probably wouldn't know about ROH. TNA would be a "second rate WWE." However, I'd probably not even care because I'd most likely find all the stuff WWE threw at me more entertaining. I don't know how well this relates to the topic at hand but one of the worst things I've encountered after being smartened up to the business it trying to talk to someone that isn't. I went to high school with this kid named Shane. We both watched wrestling, were big marks for the Wolfpack and all that. Then, we graduated and didn't see each other for several years. I got on-line, kept following wrestling and got smartened up. Shane kept following wrestling but didn't get smartened up. We ran into each other a few years later at a bowling alley and were catching up on things when the wrestling conversation started up. His favorite wrestler was Triple H. Now, it's not like I can sit there and start talking about him being married to the head of creative or being the son-in-law of the owner or playing backstage politics. All that mattered to Shane was that Triple H was a bad guy and he won a lot. Just like when we both marked for Hollywood Hogan. Watching wrestling shows with other smart marks, I think, makes the show less enjoyable too. The atmosphere is generally just a lot more negative. Personally, when I watch with a couple of friends, it gets really frustrating when we're watching WWE. It's like, we know what WWE brings to the table. We know that they're more about "entertainment" than wrestling. So, it doesn't make sense for you to complain about the lack of wrestling and talk through all the promos. Raw is pretty much all about the storylines and promos. When we're watching ROH we don't complain about the lack of promos and talk through the matches. It's weird though because I like listening to wrestling related radio shows after a PPV or whatever. I don't mind getting differing opinions but I want to hear them after I form my own opinions. When I watch shows with friends, I think I sway their opinions on the show and vice-versa. I'm curious how they'd turn out if I watched them by myself for awhile. I'm curious what I'd think about the product if I didn't read the internet for awhile. Would I become more positive or do I already know too much? It's not like I can just forget what I've read. I don't know. I liked being a mark but I like expanding my knowledge of the business too. I want all the information that I can get, I guess. I can't just "turn it off" when watching though. To answer the question asked in the topic title: Does "inside" knowledge sometimes hurt? Most definitely.
  6. I think Carlito has shown the charisma.
  7. 1997 WCW with the nWo and Sting running wild. I never missed Nitro or Thunder for several years. 2005 ROH with great matches, entertaining shows and a couple of storylines I even got engrossed in.
  8. Well, Rocky Miavia & The Ringmaster didn't interest me either and I missed the boat on them. I don't want it to happen again. I want to be able to say "I saw them from the beginning."
  9. I ignore them for the most part because I'm ignorant to the subject and don't want to get in the way.
  10. I'm not going to say that I enjoy the current product, especially after the last PPV with the Boogeyman skit, the Tim White skit and 'Taker going over Orton in the main event. However, I am curious how people like Masters, Carlito, Burchill, Orton and a few other young guys will turn out.
  11. I know there's a lot of talented female wrestlers, that doesn't mean I want to see them in TNA.
  12. The last thing I want to see is TNA bring in a bunch more women just so they can have a "credible" division for the women.
  13. I expect big things from Orton, Carlito & Masters in '06. I wouldn't be surprised to see Burchill move up to the midcard over on Smackdown, possibly even getting away from Regal. Murdoch will probably get an IC run too. Triple H will have the belt again before the year is out. I think he'll headline 'Mania too along with Cena, Batista & Orton. If WWE do forget about Edge's Money in the Bank contract, I think Edge will forget about WWE. Eventually, I think the Lashley push will be aborted. Same with Boogeyman. I wouldn't be surprised to see WWE break up MNM, The Mexicools or both. They have a habit of breaking up teams or stables for no reason. Returning stars? I have no idea. Austin, I'm sure, will be around for something before the year is out. I hope Brock comes back but we'll see what happens.
  14. Can I still listen to the Wrestling Observer Live radio show if I don't listen to it live? I clicked on the radio show button and it's some sports bullshit. Do they archive them anywhere? I'm sure it's on this show somewhere, eventually, but I don't want to listen to everything else around the part I care about....
  15. I haven't seen the last two matches, however the Misawa/Kobashi Vs. Kawada/Taue tag match is the best tag team match I've ever seen. Easily 5-stars. All the Misawa/Kawada singles matches are good, usually better than good, but they all kind of blend together to me. I can't really differentiate one from the other. That's what comp. tapes will do to ya. I didn't think the Akiyama tag touched the Kobashi tag.
  16. It's actually "make my pizza" from the times I've heard it. The only chant I currently don't mind is "please don't tap" when a submission move is applied and the crowd doesn't want the match to end yet.
  17. He's still on TV every week but he just took a couple of months off. There's no way he can be a mid-carder for two-to-three years. That's just unrealistic. To be honest, I want him to beat Cena for the title at Wrestlemania. If Batista & Cena are both the champions going into the show and one of them have to leave with the belt, I'll take HHH over Cena instead of Orton over Batista. Batista still seems to be over without half the crowd turning on him. Now, I'm not saying that I want Triple H to win the Rumble again and go on to win the belt at 'Mania but I think he's a good main eventer, that took some time off, hasn't been Superman lately & works good matches. It just seems like as long as he's with Steph, the man can do no right. Also, if/when HHH gets the title back, I don't think it'll be a long reign. He'll lose it after a month or two, then get it back so he can inch closer to Flair.
  18. It's weird because it almost seems like Triple H doesn't have a direction right now. I mean, is he going to wrestle The Big Show? After Orton lost the Hell in a Cell to The Undertaker, it wouldn't surprise me if Triple H won the damn Royal Rumble. It's like the biggest things that HHH have done recently are get punked out by TBS and hint that him & Steph were getting back together on-air.
  19. I thought we had one but I can't find it. The search feature doesn't work, it tries to search on Google. Anyway, I wanted to say something about Triple H after watching the end of Raw tonight. He lost to HBK. Now, outside of his win over Tajiri and his win over Ric Flair, he's lost, like, every match he's been in recently. He lost three straight to Batista. He lost at Taboo Tuesday to Flair. He lost to HBK. I'm curious what it'll take for him to get back in the good graces of the fans. I don't mean as a babyface, I'm just curious what it'll take for the IWC to not hate him anymore. Did he go past the point of no return? Do people not care about his win/loss record anymore because they know he'll eventually just get the belt back? Wouldn't he be a better champion than Cena? According to the TSM Win/Loss thread, Triple H is 11/11 on the year in televised matches.
  20. It lead to some really bad segments too...like Torrie Wilson selling the lamp shot at the funeral.
  21. He was on Velocity for awhile, which isn't TV. Then he did the run-in two weeks back in the Mexicools match. On Friday, he won with a Brainbuster on Smackdown. So, yeah, he's been on TV at least twice.
  22. They pretty much have to do a big bump now, right? I mean, shit.
  23. After this and the Boogeyman segment, I can't wait to hear the radio shows tonight.
  24. Nash/HHH & 'Taker/Brock didn't have them leaving the Cell, so hopefully that streak will continue.
  25. The WO website is hard as fuck to navigate... Also, does Meltzer push the show back on PPV nights?
