  1. Maybe now is the time for the long-awaited Baron Scicluna re-push, get him back up into the main event at MSG where he was in 1965.
  2. Robinson will be working my 70s AJPW Tribute tour with The Destroyer, Brisco and Dory Jr.
  3. My other reason for taking him is that I figured he could work some west coast shows. Maybe some hideous matches against The Sheik.
  4. Dean Ho looks pretty shitty in the 70s goc. Really rubbish wrestler from what I could tell.
  5. Seems like a ready-made TNT karate skit. With Fuji coming out to "show them how it is really done"
  6. Right, but I have Steamboat and Ho could be like his uncle or something. Plus, some older fans might remember him.
  7. How's my average age doing now goc?
  8. The WWF would like to welcome The Destroyer to the North East. The Destroyer was reported as having been recently looking for properties in the Akron area.
  9. My pick is former WWF Tag Team Champion Dean Ho. Can he bring Sam Steamboat with him from Hawaii?
  10. Think anyone who taps out at this point was going to tap out at some point anyway. In many ways I see jobbers as being one of the most key units in my operation.
  11. Do you understand the offer right? He gets a series of shots against the WWF champ. Goes over cheap (DQ, CO) first match. Draw second. Clean loss third. Or variants thereof depending on which arenas he works. He won't be jobbing to SD Jones. He'd likely get a clean win over Bret Hart, El Gran Apollo, or Tommy Rogers on TV.
  12. He'll never be The King of New York
  13. Only if Lawler will come in for the loop and job in the third match. Pretty much all the dates on Andre have given that up. Or I'd take Landell for 3 months TV tapings Wednesday night on the developmental scheme deal.
  14. He looked like he was in his mid-30s in 81. It was one of those where I was expecting Kelly's bio to be really short and then he rattled off a 10-year career. "And he was Invader 2".
  15. But his appearance was more notable for the fact that when Howard Finkel was announcing him, he said "from Puerto Rico", crowd went absolutely apeshit expecting Pedro and then died down the second they realised it wasn't him. Then, Pedro did come out and they erupted again. One of the funniest examples of the "wrong guy" pop I've ever seen.
  16. Soto didn't look very good in the battle royal from MSG October 81 we watched recently.
  17. Someone send up the khawk signal. Why were WWF showing random AWA matches on All-American during 1983?
  18. This is a bit of a surprise, he sounded really good on Cabana's podcast a while back, he was hilarious too.
  19. How many Riverias are there exactly?
  20. For what it's worth, this also happens when grading essays. In any batch of say 30 students, I'd expect most of the grades (16-17) to be in the 66-68 range, with a few 70+ (let's say 4-5 firsts) and a few in the low 60s (4-5) and 50 range (4-5) and maybe one in the 40s. I'd be interested to see if such "bunching" occurs in other areas. I used to read a lot of music mags and A LOT of albums would get 4 stars. 4 stars is a safe "This was really good but we're not going over the top" sort of rating. I used to read a lot of video game mags too. There 90+ was your classic 5-star, and you'd get an awful lot of games in the 80-89 bracket. It happens everywhere I reckon. Things bunch in the "very good but not excellent" bracket.
  21. The main problem I find is what jdw mentioned before, which is the incline towards the ***3/4-****1/2 range matches. I feel like I have tons and tons of matches in that range.
  22. I'd co-sign that Loss.
  23. I'm afraid the date has been taken by another promotion.
  24. The WWF announces its schedule for July! *loaned or freelance workers in brackets * Nick Bockwinkel not listed because he is loaned on an ongoing basis * Steve Regal not listed because he is loaned for first three months full-time * The following workers are scheduled for all TV tapings: Bret Hart, Bobby Eaton, Tommy Rogers, El Gran Apollo, Dr. Death Steve Williams 7/5/83: MSG (Don Muraco, Mil Mascaras) 7/6/83: TV tapings (Larry Zbyszko) 7/7/83: Baltimore, MD - Civic Center 7/8/83: Los Angeles, CA - Olympic Auditorium (Bruiser Brody, Mil Mascaras, The Sheik) 7/12/83: Philly Spectrum (Larry Zbyszko) 7/13/83: TV Tapings 7/14/83: Manchester, NH - JFK Coliseum 7/15/5/83: San Diego, CA - Sports Arena (Bruiser Brody, Mil Mascaras, The Sheik) 7/19/83: Boston Gardens (Larry Zbyszko) 7/20/83: TV Tapings 7/21/83: Portland, ME - Civic Center 7/22/83: San Jose, CA - Outdoor Soccer Stadium (Bruiser Brody, Mil Mascaras, The Sheik) 7/26/83: Meadlowlands (Larry Zbyszko) 7/27/83: TV Tapings 7/28/83: Portland, ME - Civic Center 7/29/83: Phoenix, AZ - Veterans Memorial Coliseum (Bruiser Brody, Mil Mascaras, The Sheik) NB. Plans to do TV Tapings for Superstars at the Cap Centre in Landover, MD have changed. WWF Superstars will now be taped at the Fieldhouse in Hamburg, PA. WWF Challenge tapings will still take place in Allentown, but the time has moved to a matinee (12pm) show. This means that the same workers can now work both shows taking the 30-minute drive from Allentown to Hamburg.
