PROUD MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TV Saturday 16th July 1983 Taped in front of a live studio audience at the WTVY Television Studio in Dothan, AL Hosted by Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart welcome the fans to another top week of wrestling action live from the WTVY Studio in Dothan Alabama. They both recap what happened last week with the Southeastern Tag Team Championship where Paul Jones' team of The Assassins jumped and attack the champs Ken Lucas and Eddie Hogan before defeating them for the titles. Charlie Platt informs the audience that Ken Lucas will be out of action for the foreseeable future with 4 broken ribs and Eddie Hogan suffered 18 stitches to the forehead and will be out of action also. Platt and Stewart also run through last weeks big show in Birmingham where Brad Armstrong went so close in defending his family name by defeating "Dirty" Dutch Mantell but Mantell came through the youngster resilience and picked up the win. === Advert === We're back with Jim Cornette and Brad Armstrong who talk through last weeks issues with Dutch Mantell and how Brad was so close to defeating the more experience Mantell. He also would like to challenge Dutch to a rematch. After the interview Brad makes his way to the ring to face of with Tony Falk who he defeats in 3 minutes with a Russian Leg Sweep followed by the pinful for the victory. === Run down of this weeks action in Dothan, Penscola, Birmingham and Mobile === Next up we have Jimmy Golden with Jim Cornette where he lets the fans know that the Jimmy Golden $500 Open Challenge is returning this week and its open to all challengers. Golden takes off his robe, places $500 on the announcers desk and makes his way into the ring. Larry Hamilton comes out and tells Platt and Stewart at the announcers desk he can defeat Golden and win that $500 dollars. Hamilton gets into the ring and the match starts, Golden uses alot of time wasting tactics and gets the win after 6 minutes when he has his legs on the bottom rope for leverage and gets the 3 count. Jimmy Golden celebrates on the outside as Johnny Rich, who was defeated in similar fashion last week, runs to ring to highlight to the referee that Golden had his legs on the ropes. Golden attacks Rich before he could influence the referee into reversing the result and leaves with the $500 dollars. === Advert === Ricky Gibson and Tim Horner defeat Norman Frederick Charles III and Ted Allen when Horner pinned Charles after a double dropkick in 4 minutes of non stop action. Before next weeks big NWA World Title Match where World Champion Harley will face off with "Bullet" Bob Armstrong, we get a personality profile with the challenger "Bullet" Bob Armstrong, we see clips of him grappling with Brad on some wrestling mats in their yard along with his other sons, pictures of him in the US Marine Corps and as a Fire Fight in Cobb County and clips of previous world title matches hes had down the years. === Run down of this weeks action in Dothan, Penscola, Birmingham and Mobile === We return with Bobby Eaton defeating Mike Jackson with a Top Rope Legdrop followed by the pinfull after 5 minutes of action. We pan over to Jim Cornette who has been joined Paul Jones and Tag Team Champions The Assassins. The obnoxious Paul doesn't allow Cornette to ask any questions and steals away the microphone away from Jim Cornette and tell Jim Cornette he's doing a wonderful job and he'd always have a job with The Army as a bag carrier or something along those lines, Cornette politely declines. Jones proceeds to remind the audience of the impact his Assassins had last week and how his Army will grow today with the addition of United States Junior Champion "The Professor" Bill Ash. Ash comes out from the back and shakes Jones hand and lays out a statement of intent. === Advert === We return with United States Junior Heavyweight Champion "The Professor" Bill Ash with new manager Paul Jones defeating Josh Stroud in 5 minutes. Much like last week Dutch Mantell come out to join Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart for todays main event. He once again talks down about the Armstrongs and Bob title challenger next week against World Champion Harley Race. 9. Good to see Ken Lucas feeling better and making his way too Texas from Alabama on the 9th...
  10. Good to see debuts being staggered, I'm really enjoying this roster, feels very diverse and must be a shock for the locals considering what they've been used too in a good way. Be interesting to see what the top feud ends up being, who will Honky go against now he has Jimmy Hart along side him. Looking forward to the tournament.
  11. Good first week, will be interested in where the Piper-Sullivan feud goes, like both these guys a lot. Much like Beast said, be interesting to see where Rhodes fits in, but I think ultimately he's have Sullivan coming after him if he's gets passed Piper.

  13. PROUD MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL WRESTLING ALLIANCE SOUTHEASTERN CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TV Saturday 9th July 1983 Taped in front of a live studio audience at the WTVY Television Studio in Dothan, AL Hosted by Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart welcome everyone to this week’s edition of Southeastern Championship Wrestling live from WTVY studios in Dothan Alabama. They talk about how they are happy to be apart of the revamped National Wrestling Alliance and they show off their new set, they also introduce Southeastern new promotional interviewer Jim Cornette, the camera shoots over to Jim standing in front a glossy new interview set. Charlie also announces that NWA World Champion Harley Race will be in the Alabama area in 2 weeks times defending his NWA World Heavyweight Title against "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. The guys run down this week card which sees Bob and Brad Armstrong in tag competition, Dutch Mantell will be in action and much, much more. At this point the Southeastern Championship Wrestling Tag Team Champions Ken Lucas and Eddie Hogan come to the announcers table. After dethroning the Midnight Express a few weeks ago, they are open to all challengers and going to be fighting champions. Out from the back comes Paul Jones and his team of the Assassins. Jones pays very little attention to announce team and challenge Hogan and Lucas to a title match on todays show. Lucas states that the Assassins haven’t earned a title shot, Paul accepts that and says this Assassins will earn their title shot right now and attack Lucas and Hogan with Jones giving directions. Both teams brawl into the ring and finally Lucas and Hogan get the upper hand and the Assassins retreat to the floor. === Advert === We return to Jim Cornette with the tag team champions who stat they won’t stand for this and want to fight today. Paul Jones returns and states his team will only wrestle if the tag team titles are on the line. Lucas and Hogan accept, the match is set for the main event today. === Run down of this weeks action in Dothan, Penscola, Birmingham and Mobile === When we return Jimmy Golden comes out to be interviewed by Jim Cornette, while his long time partner Robert Fuller is out injured he will be giving back to wrestling and starting from today the Jimmy Golden $500 Invitational will start for all up and coming wrestlers to challenge a wrestling legend like Golden, with this Golden lays down the $500 on the announcers desk and enters the ring and waits for a challenger. Platt and Stewart sit and count the money as Golden tells them "not to bother its all there", but in the interest of fairness Platt says he’s going to carry on. With this Johnny Rich comes out and says he’ll take on Golden. The match goes for about 7 minutes and Johnny Rich is holding his own with Jimmy Golden, the finish comes when Rich storms Golden in the corner and misses and Golden rolls up Rich and with the aid of the second roll Golden gets the three count. === Advert === We return with Dutch Mantell coming to the announcers table and joins the commentary team for the next match. Dutch says as he is new to the area he wanted to see what all the fuss was about Bob Armstrong and why he’s been given the title shot against Race in two weeks time. Platt lets Dutch know that Bob had just recently turned the corner on his career, finally put to rest his feud with The Flame and had won the Southeastern Heavyweight Title. Platt also notes that Brad Armstrong has returned from some time in Georgia to team with his father. Dutch being very disrespectful of the Armstrong family says that although "Bullet" may have the title shot against Harley Race but he is also making it known he wants a title shot against him for the Southeastern Heavyweight title. “Bullet” Bob Armstrong and Brad Armstrong defeat Norman Frederick Charles III and Tony Falk in 6 minutes with Brad scoring the win with a Russian Leg Sweep. Dutch Mantell comes and congratulates the winning father son team of the Armstrongs, as he offers a hand to Brad he quickly turns it into a slap and walks off before the Armstrong have a chance to react. Bob and Brad are interviewed by Jim Cornette and Bob talks about how he’s going to become the World Heavyweight Champion in two weeks’ time and Brad talks about how he came back to Southeastern to stamp out disrespectful people like Dutch Mantell. === Advert === “Dirty” Dutch Mantell mauls Mike Jackson in 3 minutes, completely dominanting Jackson and wins after a lariat followed by a pinful. After the match Dutch rubs Jackson face into the mat to add injury to insult. === Run down of this weeks action in Dothan, Penscola, Birmingham and Mobile === Bobby Eaton beats Larry Hamilton in a competitive 5 minute match with a top rope leg drop. Hamilton gets in a fair bit of offence but Eaton is too strong for Hamilton and the victory in an impressive showing. === Advert === Todays main event will see Southeastern Tag Team Champions Ken Lucas and Eddie Hogan take on Paul Jones' team of The Assassin’s. Charlie Platt and Rick Stewart recap what happened at the beginning of the show and how this match came about today. As Lucas and Hogan make their way to the ring the Assassins sneak out behind Hogan and attack him, pushing into the ring post and busting him wide open. Ken Lucas is seeing to Hogan on the floor as the medical staff from the back come to the ring to attend to the injured Hogan. As Eddie Hogan is taken to the back, Paul Jones asks whether Lucas is going to fight or just hand the titles over to them. Hogan is signalling for Lucas to go defend their titles. The studio audience is encouraging Lucas to take on the Assassins, Lucas storms the ring and the bell rings and we are on. Ken Lucas seems to be able to hold his own for the opening moments of the match but the numbers game quickly catches up on him as the Assassins take advantage. Before too long the Assassin close in with the victory. After a double splash to Lucas, Assassin #2 gets the 3 count after 8 minutes of action. After the bell rings the Assassins continue the beat down on Lucas until from the back Tim Horner, Ricky Gibson, Danny Davis and Ken Wayne come to the ring as the Assassins slid out of harms way. Horner, Gibson, Davis and Wayne see to a clearly injured Ken Lucas who could have broken ribs. === Advert === We return to Jim Cornette trying to get an interview with the new tag team champions, Paul Jones steals the microphone from Cornette and pushes Cornette away and lays down his statement of intent in Southeastern Championship Wrestling and his Army will continue to grow with wrestlers and titles and it all started this week with the Assassins. ===Show Ends=== Quick results :- Jimmy Golden Defeats Johnny Rich "Bullet" Bob Armstrong & Brad Armstrong Defeat Norman Frederick Charles III and Tony Falk "Dirty" Dutch Mantell Defeats Mike Jackson Bobby Eaton Defeats Larry Hamilton The Assassins defeat Ken Lucas and Eddie Hogan for the Southeastern Tag Team Championship
