Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 3

I agree with just about everything you said. It's just the people that act like what they think is the gospel is what bothers me. I get what message boards are for and I'm all for arguing your points of view but when some people act like they are of higher intelligence or something because of what they like it wrestling it really looks pathetic. I'm not saying everyone does that and its really not a huge complaint because I guess you'll always have those people that use the internet to look tough or smart or whatever but I just think a give and take argument is a much better way to look at things. I mean if someone like lance storm better than Lawler and refuses to explain why then yes no point in arguing, case closed with that person. They shouldn't be chastised on their opinion it should just be a dead argument. Now if that person were to say I've never seen prime Lawler and I don't like the goofy wwf stuff it would spark a chance for a Lawler supporter to tell said person why he should search certain matches angles etc. My whole thing is some people are not as serious as others are and just want to have opinions without going into a whole diatribe about it. I for one don't mind arguing a point I guess I was just sticking up for people that don't. It really isnt all that serious and I didn't mean for it to come off like this but oh well. -

Wow. See to me that's cool though, the fact that some people still don't see through the kayfabe and are innocent to the backstage stuff is just awesome to me. If you spun it right you could have these people hanging on your every word just based on your knowledge and their lack of it -

Yea it definitely works both ways but to come off as those peoples opinion is invalid is just plain silly. Some people have to blast one opinion to get theirs across and that's weak. I don't like guys like rvd or brody or whoever else but I also don't think less of anyone who does. And yes close mindedness is alive and well when it comes to wrestling but it could also be personal preference. 10 years ago I would've never given guys like Lawler a chance but now i think he's one of the top 3 wrestlers of all time. In saying that I also like Sid so I just have a more random personal taste, doesn't make it less valid. It just annoys me when people shit on other peoples oponions, you should be able to dislike a wrestler or a style without degrading other people in the process -

What's wrong with those opinions though? If people want to think that way let em its all on personal taste. There is no right or wrong answer when you're a wrestling fan. -
That's Chris Adams for you. Not Brian. Brian was overused and I want him away from my TV set immediately. Ahh shit how the fuck did i put Brian Adams in there? I prefer the singer over the wrestler in that case but yeah i meant Chris. Guys like him and Martel had fun little stints on the WCW B shows

I fucking love Sid. He's one guy for whatever reason where work rate and ability just dont matter to me. Fuck i love his late 96 early 97 run and i've been pushing for a Sid comp for a while now so Sid is my obvious vote. I cant argue that he did anything great and im not saying he was a great wrestler by any means but i still love Sid Will, so is this seriously in the works? As in the near future? You know you got my money if it is

I always liked the character a lot and the wrestler not so much. He was a great promo build/vignette guy. I'd prefer to watch his promos and angles in full and his matches in highlights just to see if the point got across. The best match he was involved in to me was the dog collar match. The Goldberg US title match was a little fun too

Really. Apparently it puts me in the minority but Sheamus does absolutely nothing for me. Why would Sheamus and Orton just forget about the three guys who have beaten them and attacked them over and over? The good guys are holding a grudge and they got to strike back a little. If Shield always comes out on top, it'd be NWO all over again. And Orton and Sheamus are top level guys, it's not like Zach Ryder and Santino got one over on them. No one is arguing The Shield always come out on top. They should probably lose at Mania. But I don't think The Shield should be used as a vehicle to get Orton back into the upper tier. I think Orton is pretty well locked into his current slot unless he gets a reset under the wellness policy. As for The Shield, any definitive defeats they eat should be used to further their character and transition into a new program, not provide happy ending #4 on the PPV. I agree with you on this one. Sheamus does nothing for me as well. And i think Shrek is actually a pretty funny nickname, i can picture him saying Donkaaay

Interesting comments about Brian Adams as i always thought he was a bit underused in that time frame as well. I would also like to see a fun little TV title reign working matches on Saturday night every week.

I absoultely love this match as well but the Driven match has been my stock pick for a while, i think in a little more time and maybe a few more random watchings will sway me towards the Punk match.
-
Vs Mcguiness from Driven
-
I believe he was using the fist drop
-
I will third the 11/6/05 match. Now onto Kid/Xpac/Waltman. Mine would have to be against Bret from Raw 94

PTB Episode 200: A PTB Variety Show Retrospective
jpchicago23 replied to Bigelow34's topic in Publications and Podcasts
If you guys haven't listened to this episode or thus podcast for that matter I highly recommend it. Such a laud back, well produced show. Feels like you're hanging out watching wrestling with the guys, a very easy listen -
Vs Owen euro title Raw 97
-
Vs Austin Mania 13 my favorite match of all time. Owen from mania x and SS 96 are a very close two and three
-
Rumble 03 is the pick for me as well. Absolute clinic of a match. Now we move to Eddie Guerrero and ill pick the Havoc 97 match
-
I'll second the Benoit match with the FoF vs Jericho/Eddie from Nitro being a close second

Yea there were rumors of a titus singles push anyways so this pretty much expedited it. Sucks as it takes a team away from the developing tag scene -
Mcmichael wasn't bad at all for what he was. Really great natural charisma decent power offense and had a fun feud with wcw era jarrett. I think he had a fun Goldberg match too and the Kevin Greene tag was fun. Christopher is Memphis personified much like Jamie dundee but not as good and that's why I fucking live him. I never thought of him as actively bad or anything

I like the Rebirth Era, i dont quite consider it New Gen anymore to me thats more 92 to 94 maybe early 95. Late 95 to 97 had a totally different feel to it but wasnt quite attitude yet. -

What is the pre attitude era considered? I'm talking 95-97 so we have the Monday Night wars but not quite Attitude Era and fading out of New Genereation era. Wouldnt this be classified as an era? Reason i'm asking is because i'm planning on doing a project/rewatching of this era for WWF, WCW, ECW, and USWA and just cant think of what to call it. I might create a blog once i start it and track favorite matches and angles, i dont think i will do match by match reviews. -
Yea that's the same reason I picked the vader match even though I have the NJ set, I just haven't gotten to it
-
Yea I took it as Henry being a big deal. I think Khali is just the appetizer
