Hell in a Cell 2019 - Card is not only subject to change, but is bound to
NintendoLogic replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I think we all knew going in that WWE had booked itself into a corner. You had two guys who couldn't afford to lose in a match that is explicitly designed to provide a decisive finish. But even given those constraints, it's hard to imagine what WWE could have done that would have been worse than what they actually did. When presented with the likelihood of doing irreparable damage to Rollins, Wyatt, or the Cell gimmick, they managed to kill off all three. It's the kind of thing that would have caused fans to flood the ring with garbage had it happened in the 90s. -
"You asked me to let you in. I did, and I BURNED. IT. DOWN." >pauses for "BURN IT DOWN" chants that never come

I'm kind of worried they're building this match up into something they can't deliver with a no-blood policy. Still, it's Liger and Suzuki we're talking about. If it isn't at least the New Japan MOTY, it'll be a huge letdown.

The Fiend no-selling and squashing people would have been even worse. This is supposed to be a combat sport, not low-budget horror schlock. You can point to the Undertaker, but he was huge enough to be intimidating even without the gimmick. The Fiend is just Husky Harris in a clown mask. -

The Fiend thing only worked until Bray had to wrestle, which is the ultimate downfall of anything involving Bray Wyatt. -
This is what happens when companies are filled with dorks who view wrestling as a form of community theater and are just happy to be there. Notice how wrestlers with high-level combat sports backgrounds don't get booked like this.

Wait, did they seriously do a DQ finish in a Hell in a Cell Match? What the fuck is wrong with this company? -

You would think that Heyman would be the last person to make AJ an afterthought. His promo after Survivor Series 2017 calling AJ the most phenomenal in-ring performer he had ever seen supposedly reflected his actual opinion. -

Austin, Undertaker, and Sting were all advertised for Smackdown, and they were all absent with no explanation. Blatant false advertising doesn't exactly have a sterling track record as a strategy for audience growth. -

Brock vs. Cain is headlining a major show after Ronda ran roughshod over the women's division last year. How crazy is it that WWE has become the last bastion of Inokiism? -

Kofi got exactly what he deserved. The past six months have established beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's not world champion material. Brock having a competitive match with him would have devalued the title. -

Between the wrestling war heating up, WWE swimming in money, and the Saudi prince calling the shots, I've got a feeling we're going to see a lot more former stars miraculously cleared to return to the ring. -
Boxing and MMA have weight classes. Floyd and Manny aren't fighting guys who outweigh them by 100 pounds.

Jericho is supposedly facing Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom, and I doubt New Japan would put someone from AEW over one of their tippy-top guys. I also doubt AEW would be OK with their world champion losing a non-title match to someone outside the company. So unless AEW is planning on making Tanahashi their champion, I figure Jericho will drop the belt between now and January, most likely to Cody at Full Gear.

Getting paid models to sit on a couch and pose for a picture for you isn't much of an accomplishment, especially if you're bribing them with liquor.

It'll be interesting to see Tanahashi in an all-out brawl. The last one I remember him being in is the Yano match from the 2011 G1.
