  1. Jake "The Cruncher" Hager.
  2. The crowd was pretty dead for Shida/Shanna initially, but they were really into it by the end. That seems to be a trend with women's matches on Dynamite.
  3. From the official AEW preview: This Wednesday night, on the eve of Halloween, All Elite Wrestling “Dynamite” makes its West Virginia debut at the Charleston Coliseum LIVE on TNT!! We go live at 8pm EST/7pm CST and what a night of action in store for the fans. The finals of the World Tag Team Title Tournament, the official contract signing for the AEW World Title Match at “Full Gear” on 11/9, Six Man Tag action, and the legendary Rock 'n' Roll Express in the house!!! Oh yes, and do not forget Rick and Morty... Game 7 of the World Series is obviously going to do a number on the ratings, but Charleston has been starved of major league wrestling for long enough that the crowd should be plenty enthusiastic. Other than WWE house shows, the last time a big-league promotion came through was for the go-home Nitro before Bash at the Beach 2000. Let's hope nobody tears their urethra the way Johnny the Bull did on that show.
  4. Also, they pulled the plug on the librarians and the Dark Order (banished to AEW Dark and out in their first tournament match, respectively) when it was clear that neither act was getting over.
  5. That doesn't mean much since hand-to-hand combat training in the military is a joke, particularly at the lower levels.
  6. If that one match against Charlotte on Raw is any indication, Lacey wouldn't be much of a threat at all in a shoot situation.
  7. It's 2019. Good matches are a dime a dozen these days. Matches with meaningful stakes involving people the fans care about are far rarer. These NWA shows are all about setting the table, and they're doing a fantastic job of that. I do agree that they have to deliver the goods in the ring at some point, which is why the December 14 PPV is crucial. They'll lose a lot of steam if the matches on it are letdowns.
  8. It doesn't seem to work that way, I'm afraid. Jerry Lawler has been on WWE's payroll for decades, but how many of their workers can throw a decent punch?
  9. I can't imagine Vince dying a natural death. They'll have to take him out like Vigo the Carpathian.

    NXT talk

High-level athletes tend to have astronomical levels of self-confidence, so they probably figured they'd be the ones to beat the odds.
  11. I think Private Party is starting to grow on me. Most of their offense may be clearly choreographed and not terribly impactful, but it's heartening to see a young team perform a proper hot tag. WWE-style "hot tags" where the FIP hits one big move or counter leading to both guys slowly crawling to their corners and tagging out simultaneously have made most modern tag matches unwatchable for me.
  12. Vince can't be that hard to replace. There are probably dozens, if not hundreds, of guys on 4chan who share his obsessions with height and cuckolding and have enough of a grasp of basic storytelling to book a pro wrestling promotion.
  13. Ratings and attendance are both in the toilet, so getting a reaction from the manchildren who attend these shows obviously isn't worth much. See also, the Fiend.
  14. Accent mimicry is a pretty specialized skill that even a lot of trained actors struggle with. Brad Pitt's attempt at an Irish accent in The Devil's Own is a notorious example. By the way, this angle is disgraceful and you should be ashamed of yourself if you enjoy it even slightly.
  15. Hopefully, Cody will get busted open and the Maryland State Athletic Commission will order the match to be stopped right when he's on the brink of victory.
  16. Pac looking better than ever. To everyone in the WWE thread who doubted him, I accept your apology. Now go forth and sin no more.
  17. Impressive showing from Jamie Hayter. And to the best of my knowledge, she hasn't injured multiple opponents, so she's head and shoulders above Bea Priestley in my book. Put the rocket on her and have her challenge Riho for the title.
  18. Hey guys, did you know that Dr. Britt Baker, DMD is a dentist? They should mention that more.
  19. I didn't think it was possible to outdo Kenny Omega in a battle of goofy facial expressions, but Joey Janela managed to pull it off.
  20. How do you win a match that can't be stopped for any reason?
  21. He honestly should have retired a long time ago. He's been virtually immobile for years. But after the Perro Aguayo Jr./Silver King situations, it was great to see medical personnel on him pretty much immediately. Given the severity of the injury, it could very well be the difference between life and death.
  22. You guys are nuts. Pac the Man That Gravity Forgot is nothing to write home about, but violent bastard Pac is money, like a modern-day Dynamite Kid. He hasn't quite delivered on the promise of his character in the ring yet, but the potential is there.
  23. Maybe he's thinking about his legacy and figures he needs a run outside of WWE to establish himself as one of the era's true legends.
  24. I don't think there's a matchup that would appeal to me less than Seth Rollins vs. Kenny Omega. Not only would the match itself annoy the hell out of me, the promos and social media banter leading up to it would be unbearable.
  25. It's official. Details from the press conference here: https://www.njpw1972.com/63157 Between this and Bushiroad acquiring Stardom, it looks like they've decided they need to be aggressive because sticking with a pat hand in the current environment will doom them in the long run. Also, I think it's safe to say that any kind of NJPW/AEW partnership is officially out the window.
