  1. Nash was making goofy faces in anticipation of each punch from Piper. That is some random brawling by all the guys involved. WCW had a huge number’s advantage but there was no attempt for them to gang on the NWO. The Dungeon of Doom went straight for Benoit.
  2. Tenay makes it clear that Dillon and Executive Committee are going to make Hogan wrestle tonight but it’s non title. Really acting tough there. Luger’s comments before make even less sense. I don’t like the white NWO tshirts Wolfpac is wearing. Luger fights them off and gets the Torture Rack for the submission. No celebration time for Luger as the NWO beat him up. Hogan hits a lot of leg drops on a downed Luger. A confident Bischoff and Hogan accept Luger’s challenge for tag match as the Bash.
  3. Luger and Giant looking to face Hogan and Rodman at Bash at the Beach. Luger says Hogan hasn’t defended the WCW title since February which is way over 30 days. Why even mention something like that unless they have abandoned the requirement of champion defending title.
  4. DDP could have really screwed up his leg/foot if he got cut open on the glass window. That was embarrassing Ultimo! You should hide your face in shame. Dragon and Psicosis were the best pairing. Stuff with Calo and Parka didn't look right. Everyone was hitting their dives at the end though. Parka whacks Calo with a chair after the match as Juventud and Dragon just watch.
  5. The Harts attack Austin before the match can start and Mankind makes the save! Austin can’t go so Mankind takes his place. Mankind takes a back suplex on the steel ramp. Ah, because it felt like they were teasing Mankind as one of the 5 guys for Stampede. Pillman had some great matches in 90-91. Shame about the accident and obviously the eventual end. Austin ends up saving Mankind this time and Shamrock helps too. He’s too trusting and new to the wrestling business and gets a Stunner.
  6. Mankind hating on Michaels probably got himself a few more fans. Ross is asking for it with these questions. Mankind says he will be the first to know if he has mental problems. He thinks JR does a poor job of saying Mankind doesn’t feel pain because he does. Before 97, this would be a very heel thing to do to an announcer as Mankind puts the Claw on Ross.
  7. Jerry can barely talk. Paul E takes a run at Lawler after but Jerry tosses him aside and beats him up as he should. Thought it was a flat brawl with Dreamer and RVD.
  8. Pillman and Austin to happen tonight. Austin jumps as being one of the WWF guys in the Canadian Stampede. He of course doesn’t care who his tag partners are.
  9. Triple H complains about politics doing him in last King of the Ring. But he took things into his own hands and won. Nobody will get in his way including Vince McMahon. Mankind wants a rematch. HHH busts his crown again over Mankind.
  10. The gum chewing was obnoxious. I go back and forth on this match compared to WMXIV but really enjoyed it this time around. Both guys looked really good. Austin was leveling Michaels with clotheslines. Great up to the finish but I can see why neither guy went over. How did Earl Hebner get a pass here for calling for the double DQ and not get beat up? Michaels and Austin had minutes earlier showed they have no problems with beating up an official.
  11. Bret Hart announces his return for Canadian Stampede and issues a big challenge of the Hart Foundation versus five WWF guys. Bret loses his announce gig for main even match which is too bad as I would like to hear him call Austin/Michaels. Pillman was funny threatening Brisco and Patterson, putting a spot light in Vince's face and pinching Dave Hebner’s cheek.
  12. Mankind now becoming more of a babyface. Didn’t really like the full version of this match as was too slow. They will have better matches against each other later in year. HHH says on his DVD that Vince told him to wear the crown after but he thought it looked so cheap so he used it as a weapon after in an attempt to destroy it and make it unwearable.
  13. Pillman, “Seek and you should find...” As Austin attacks him from behind before stuffing his head in the toilet. A camera inside the stall has to be illegal.
  14. Saturn tore his ACL a few days before. I think surgery was planned so they probably didn’t think he was going to cause anymore damage as is. Saturn had to point out to Kronus that he had D-Von in the wrong position on the mat in the set up to the elbow.
  15. I love how this whole thing made it unedited to yearbook because it was a really special thing to watch back in the day. Was just glued to TV watching it again even though I’ve seen it a bunch of times before. Raven/Dreamer wasn’t a great match but it was the right type of brawl for their blow off and I ate it up. As mentioned previous, the post match is the highlight with a great surprise visitor.
  16. It was amusing that he is beating up these USWA officials in suits. Some of these guys are old also. He thrashes the studio but then you have these legit security guards for crowd control just standing there doing nothing.
  17. Diesel says he talked to Vince and they have a little peace offering. But he beats up Razor anyways and sprays yellow done his back.
  18. Billy Joe should have had a roadie feeding him guitars. I didn’t make much sense for Travis to be using a sturdy electric guitar and then switching up to an acoustic.
  19. Right, I was confused with Dreamer showing up in USWA before the WrestlePalooza stuff went down. Lance mentions how he doesn’t remember what he had for breakfast. Lawler makes challenge to any ECW wrestler and Dreamer obliges causing the TV match to get thrown out. Clips of Dreamer versus Brian Lee from ECW. Brian Lee on his way out there.
  20. Ha, Sarge is the man. So cool you got a picture with him Flik. If only you could have got a picture of him next to KITT.
  21. Nice to see so many folks have picked this up and that they are enjoying it. I do like these type of sets to sell well so that WWE will continue to release dvd/blu rays outside their current roster guys. Probably won't get into this right away but I'll catch a match here and there and work through it.
  22. Santo has Casas in the Camel Clutch and Dragon whacks him in the back with a kick. Santo lets go and smacks Dragon around a few times. Dragon looks to be frozen in place about upsetting Santo so much. He must have too big of a heart or something. He might not have a fully working arm though as he ends up getting taken out of match. Rudos beat the crap of Casas at end of first fall but their aggressiveness costs them a DQ in the second. Rudos continue to kick ass until Dragon returns! He beats Santo too! Really fun that wanted me to watch the rematch right away.
  23. Misawa hits loads of forearms and roaring elbows before topping things off with a Tiger Driver on the floor. They keep doing the same thing of having one dodge/block move, your turn to dodge/block move and then headrop/head shot before which leads to a moment of nothing happening. This is repeated a bunch. I don’t recall seeing Kawada do so much head dropping suplexes in a match. He is also doing a bunch of laying around. The finish looks terrible and Misawa wins with a forearm smash but the match continues? Misawa puts Kawada away with a German after. They have set such a high level of quality of matches between themselves that getting a poorly laid out match and awful looking finish was just sad to watch. I could accept one of both guys being legit banged up going in.
  24. I found myself coming around to Kanemoto here. Mix of kicks/strikes with pushing Samurai's ankle on the ground. But then he would do his flippy senton in the middle of kicking Samurai in the head and tearing his mask. Felt out of place. Samurai finishes things off with a top rope reverse DDT, botches one in the ring and then hits an elevated version. Didn't like the way the sequence works and yeah they just randomly started throwing stuff out there at the end. There is enough to like overall though.
  25. I didn't even know it was 5 individual teams until they they started going through the eliminations. The beginning was so out of control with the quick camera cuts to the all the action going on in and outside the ring. So it was hard to follow but there was a great few minutes of Tajiri fighting off Jado and Gedo. Fun match overall.
