Shawn will be top 20. EDIT: Hope I'm wrong, but don't think I am.

Whereas Angle moved up. Different group of voters, I suppose, is the obvious explanation.

In before OJ with Burt Lancaster. JJ Hunsecker in Sweet Smell of Success is one of cinema's great heels. Harvey Keitel would be a very PWO choice for GOAT actor. Long period of consistency, has the great films, worked up and down the card, lots of variety, and did it all while being overshadowed by his direct peers, most of whom stopped being interesting way before he did. My money is on Buster Keaton.

I think the criteria changes from wrestler to wrestler. At least to me. It's impossible to be consistent in something like this.

When it comes crashing down and it hurts inside....

I had Tito in the back end of my list. Fire and explosiveness just about sums it up. Great tag worker too. Maybe my favourite hot tag guy. And the flying forearm is one of my favourite moves also. Arriba! I think Gordy just snuck onto the bottom of my list.

Do WWE call Sami Zayn fans Zayniacs yet? Because they will. I ended up having Onita on my list, after saying I wouldn't. Selling, spectacle, charisma in the end won the day.

Who are the Top 10 CHOPPERS of all time?
Yo-Yo's Roomie replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Pro Wrestling
Romeo Rapta should main event Wrestlemania 33. -
I wasn't particularly thinking of Chicana when I put my list together, but then I looked over my rankings for the lucha set, and he had a bunch of top end stuff. Kinda reminded me just how good he was on that set. He ended up my 44.

Finally high vote on my second guy, The Destroyer. Basically wanted to say that he, to me, is the epitome of a pro-wrestler, but a couple of other people already said the same thing. Never less than entertaining, be it grinding holds or doing comedy shtick. The GOAT verbal wrestler (think someone else said that before, so I'm just copying). Not a lot of footage, but enough for me to know he is one of the best ever.

Confession time: I didn't care for Ikeda at all. Just seemed like a guy kicking people as hard as he could, which doesn't do much for me. I'm sure I'm missing the nuance to his work, and I'm sure someone will tell me about it. Of all the Battlarts I watched (which I'm not gonna pretend was a huge amount, if I had to guess I'd ballpark 30 matches), he was the guy that pissed me off the most (I prefer Ishikawa, though didn't vote for him either- Otsuka was my guy, probably because he works a more accessible style for a newcomer) with the way that he would always lean on stiffness as a way to escalate the match.

I didn't think I really gave a shit where anyone placed, until Waltman dropped and missed out on the top 100. I really thought he would be around 75 or so. I had him at 50. Terrifically consistent worker for most of his career, and was one of a very, very small group of people who were able to have good, meaningful matches during the Attitude Era with all the constraints that came along with it (and probably the best at that). Excellent babyface worker, incredibly sympathetic, but also excelled as a hated heel. Maybe the poster child for why great match counting is a really flawed way to judge wrestlers, as you could probably count the great matches he had on one hand.

Glad Low-Ki didn't make the 100. Hate that dude.
-
Larry seems really crazy high actually. Not a guy who is really talked up a bunch as an all-timer or someone I remember being much discussion at all about actually. Sort of guy I'd expect to fall in the 300 range.

Who thinks John Ford is better than Nick Ray? Magnum is more like a Bob Rafelson.
-
That's always the case in these kinds of things though. Look at the film projects at DVDVR. You'll get OJ and a few others talking about stuff like Hou Hsiao-Hsien or Kusturica, but it's still going to be Shawshank and Goodfellas and the like at the top.

Great Puma is ResidentEvil, right? So that's either DK or Benoit with at least one number one vote.
-
Buddy Rogers at 42 is my highest to fall so far, with Devil right behind at 43. I probably have about 70 guys left, though not gonna count.

Lowest ranked wrestler with a number one vote?

Should we maybe take a "survey"? "Last call" for guesses. This is leaving me on the "edge" of my seat. -
So it looks like I had Cota at 48, which now makes him my highest placed guy to drop. Hamada was 71, and it seems like I had Psicosis at 86. My lower tier is dropping like flies now.

Man, I love Edge. I'll say it. I didn't rank him because I don't think he's that great, but I love that guy. I just watched him hump Beulah McGillicutty for a 3-count, and how can you not love the pro-wrestling sleaziness of that?
-
Man, I was expecting Triple H. I'll watch 100 Edge matches before one Triple H match. Hell, i could probably watch 100 Edge matches during one of Triple H's bloated epics.

Wrestlers who had a lot of great matches but aren't great

If everything a carpenter makes falls apart, he can't be a great carpenter, no matter how well he holds a hammer. However, wrestling is not carpentry. Wrestling is more like building a house. Sometimes everybody working on the house does a really great job, and thus you get a great house. Other times the plumbing is really great but there's no floors and the TV turns on when you hit the light switch. -
Oh, and I had Buzz Sawyer on my list somewhere in the bottom 50. Buzz to me is the guy with the most believable gimmick in wrestling. Like, I fully believe that if you looked at him wrong he'd try to bite your ear off or something. Mad Dog indeed. Orton is probably the worst guy to rank so far. Maybe not the actual worst wrestler, but just for what the guy represents - mediocrity, homogeneity, blandness, sheen and polish in the worst sense - he's pretty much bottom of the barrel for me. The guy couldn't entertain his way out of a wet paper bag.
