  1. This is a great podcast. I've listened to the Drew Delite and Scott Hudson ones. Rev is a great host and this is an awesome podcast to hear some stories about TN/GA/AL wrestling. The Delite show is really cool because I saw Drew wrestle around Chattanooga weekly when he was about my age 12 to 15 years ago. The Scott Hudson show is fun with some great stories about Global.
  2. Orton vs. Rollins (Cage WWE Title Match/RKO Banned) - The match was boring. I liked the pedigree spot though. The finish was shitty. The RKO was banned and Rollins wins the stupid match with it.
  3. Reigns-Show - (LMS Match) - This was long. It was pretty fun in places though. The wild spearing was great. I think the match should have ended on the last spear. The announce table was falling off of Show and the hollow part was visible. Pretty hokey.
  4. Nikki vs. Naomi (Diva's Title) - This wasn't bad. There were a couple of neat spots. I kind of expected Naomi to win. Nikki's a good champ though.
  5. Cena vs. Rusev - (Russian Chain Match) - This was okay. The Lana spot didn't make any sense because Lana has never acknowledged the fans like that. Now she'll leave Rusev which will hurt him even more. The finish was really terrible. I hated it.
  6. Ambrose vs. Harper (Chicago Street Fight) - The first part was fun for the most part. The disappearance was goofy. The second half was goofier but fun. The finish was pretty anti-climactic for all the goofiness.
  7. Cesaro/Kidd vs. New Day (Big E. & Kofi) - This was awesome. I thought it was a great match with great near falls, great heat, and a nice shocking finish. I'm a little irked by Cesaro and Kidd losing the belts but I'm still interested in where things are going with New Day as heel champs. I love the Chicago crowd too.
  8. Sheamus vs. Ziggler - This was a great match. Sheamus was outstanding in it. He was starting to get real heat. I liked the finish, because it was the best finish in this stipulation. The post-match was too long, but it ended the way it should have.
  9. Oh my God, they're going to do this match as an ongoing thing all night.
  10. Barrett vs. Neville - Pretty good match. Glad Neville got the win.

    WWECW

06 WWECW has Flair-Show which is one of my favorite Ric Flair as American Onita matches. It was surreal watching it at the time.
  12. Western States/Amarillo has a close place to my heart. Dylan and I's Dad grew up in Albuquerque and that's what he watched in the 60s. Ricky Romero, the Funks, Dick Murdoch, etc. He still talks about it today. It also explains Dylan and I's love for the Funks. If you didn't like the Funk's growing up in my house you were risking abandonment.
  13. Has Villano IV been nominated? I couldn't find him in the nominee list. He has to be nominated. Super Nova/Texano Jr vs. Ray Mendoza Jr/Villano IV vs. Casandro/Hijo del Pirata Morgan, 3/16/13 Awesome match. The Villanos give a great ass beating and take a great ass beating. We get brutal chairshots and violent blood loss, great selling, strong near falls, and a near literal suicide dive from Casandro. The finish was another great Villano's moment and the post-match was epic. Yeah, we didn't get all of it but we got enough of it which makes this my current MOTY. Via Dylan: Angel Blanco Jr./El Hijo del Solitario v. El Hijo Del Santo/Villano IV TXT 2/25/12 Fucking five thousand times YES. I will wait for the pro-shot to be sure, but right now I have this ahead of Casas v. Panther fairly easily. That is not a knock on Casas v. Panther either, this match is just fucking awesome. Totally wild, escalating brawl, with all four guys juicing, some of the nastiest punches ever, some crazy spots and a great finish. Villano IV was just insanely great here hitting two wild topes where he splatted on the floor, eating some sick chairshots, selling gut kicks and punches like he was being crippled with pancreatitis, showing awesome fire and his own brand of stiffness during the face come back, clinging onto dudes for single legs when he had nothing left to give, et. On top of this the visual of his bloody head was insane as it looks like Abdullah the Butcher after taking shrapnel from a clusterbomb. The rudos were really tremendous asskickers here, stalking around like total pricks and throwing some savage shots. Blanco has an awesome standoff exchange with Villano IV both during the match and in the tremendous post match brawl that are up there with my favorite moments in wrestling in the last ten years. Solitaro has been a great foil for Santo over the last couple of years and really was tremendous, coming off as a guy livid at the existence of Santo in particular. At one point he crushes him with a punch to the chest that Santo sells like Solitaro is Ox Baker and he is a desperate Fritz Von Erich trying to get more cash flow to pay off his kids coke debts. Later he takes an awesome bump off of a revenge chairshot and his timing on that finishing spot was perfect. Speaking of which Santo was fucking Santo. He is the real deal. He can take punishment, bleed buckets, hit his highspots, sell his ass off, make his comebacks, et and it never stops being exciting. His dives looked great, he had the aforementioned Fred Sanford sell job, he was just right at playing the victim but without relinquishing the nobility of his name and act. And man that finish. What a champ to take that chairshot and splat after that much blood loss and that crazy a match. Getting stretched pretty tightly for the fall was a nice sacrifice as well. Post-match brawl with blood soaked guys competing to get hepatitis by smacking each others heads around was also tremendous. Good luck topping this 2012 Villano IV v. Blue Demon Jr. - AAA 4/19/14 I wasn't crazy about the opening mat work. It was okay, but slower than what I was hoping for. Then they started slapping each other, and I got more interested. There were some pretty great rights thrown and bloody mask ripping. Those things are always good. My favorite parts of the match were Demon's offense, cut offs, and big spots. The spear and launching forearm were fucking awesome. Later, he hits a good dive and breaks out a top rope frankensteiner. Villano IV was excellent selling througout and hit a couple of awesome rights. His offense seemed a bit more tepid than usual, but I forgive him because he bled and sold so well. The arm bar sequence and final submission sequence were both cool as shit. Yeah, I liked this a whole lot, and it got better as it went along.
  14. That's very possible. It will be fun to watch. For a personal story, when I was in high school I saw Steph Curry play at the roundhouse here in Chatt a few times. There was one game where Davidson (Curry's team) was ripping us on the way to halftime. I was walking around the concourse getting food or whatever and all the sudden I hear the place explode. Curry had just hit a half court shot at the halftime buzzer. The rest of the game was ugly.
  15. I'm really interested in Anthony Davis' performance in the first round. There's no way in hell the Pelicans win that series, but I wonder if Davis can win them a game at home.
  16. Cool this looks to be a good listen. I love the NBA playoffs. It's the greatest sport tournament of all-time in my opinion. I wish I could get myself more into the regular season, but I don't have a favorite team. Plus, they play 82 fucking games a year. The Southwest division has been insane this year though. Hasn't it been like 10 years since an entire division made it to the playoffs? I'm listening right now. This will help me a lot with what's been going on in the league.
  17. I probably saw Tank-Iceberg brawls or Tank/Iceberg versus poor bastards tags a million times when I was a kid. I probably only saw Dan Wilson a few times back then because he was with Wildside mostly. I saw him off and on for a few years in the mid-2000s. Then about five years ago he showed up in face paint with a staff and skull at the top and my uncle and I couldn't figure out who it was at first. EDIT: Dan Wilson was actually one of the promoters of NWA Chattanooga from 2010-2012. That's where I think I first saw his Reverend gimmick.
  18. I have yet to listen, but this is a topic that's close to my heart as well. It's a bit different from everyone else though. I started watching wrestling in very early 2000. WCW and ECW were up to their heads in the ground. They were dead a year later. My alternative to WWE was a small southern independent promotion in East Ridge, TN called Ultimate Extreme Wrestling (UEW). I saw a bunch of NWA Wildside and Anarchy guys there all the time. Even some IWA Mid-South guys. Iceberg, Tank Norton, David Young, Sonny Siaki, etc. I saw possibly Terry Gordy's last match there. One of the Moondogs (can't remember which one) worked there a ton. I have some great memories from growing up in that stingy, smoke filled warehouse on a Saturday night. It was pretty different from the super indie explosion that was going on as far as style and presentation goes, but dammit it was just as good.
  19. Cesaro/Kidd vs. New Day and Wyatt-Rowan have been good on SD tonight. Strong TV matches. SD such an easier watch too.
  20. As someone who's literally watched McMahon's all over my TV for the fifteen years I've watched WWE, Vince easily takes the cake. There are endless angles, segments, and moments that I could point to where Vince was awesome. Him coming out to "The Saints Come Marching In" prior to WM 22, the Punk segment leading to MITB 2011, walking around with a doorag and speaking slang in the Bobby Lashley feud, the family prayer before the Michaels match at Mania, the church skit with Shane in the build to Backlash 06, him coming back and decking Shane and Trips in the build to WM 16, the hilarious Angle-Austin skits from 01, etc. He's incredibly entertaining. Stephanie has been great the last two years. When she was younger she was way more annoying and subject to shitty tit jokes from Rock and Jericho (although those weren't her fault). Shane is entertaining too and a lot of his matches ranged from really fun to perversely entertaining. The Angle and Kane matches were completely ludicrous, but enjoyable for the bumps and shit he went through. Linda was mostly awful. Her promos could be good at times, but she was mostly amusingly shitty as a character.
  21. Looks like it will be Big Show-Reigns at Extreme Rules. That KO punch set-up was awkward as hell.
  22. I hope crowds continue to cheer Reigns. He deserves it.
  23. Man, Ryback-Harper have a better match in them if they're given time. I also dislike Harper losing in three minutes.
  24. That match basically jumped right into hitting moves for near falls. Not my kind of match. The beginning with Cena on top was bad too.
  25. I don't know why Cena is working on top the entire time. Isn't he supposed to be the face? Stardust is fucking terrible too.
