  1. That's where I stopped reading. Shoemaker is even more insufferable than usual in that piece. Unclear to me whether he or the guy on youtube who freaked when Punk lost gives wrestling fans a worse name. Wouldn't want anyone I know to be exposed to either.
  2. COSIGN. I also can't take anything Sean Mooney says remotely seriously.
  3. I might be able to see that it reads as a good finish. But it sure as hell did not play out that way. It was awful.
  4. It definitely sounds that way. But did you see it? Didn't exactly come off that hot as executed. Pretty deflating.
  5. Check out Slaughter's bump on the way out in '92. I rewatched this yesterday as part of the '92 yearbook and thought it was the craziest bump in the match.
  6. The midsection work on Rock and knee work on Punk were really great. Have to think Punk was responsible for laying that out. I didn't love how suddenly it wrapped up after the restart but they couldn't exactly have a prolonged stretch run at that point. Really fun.
  7. They may be inconsistent with things throughout the year, but when it comes to Mania its all about business.
  8. His ex is also his business manager or something like that . Yep. Taking amicable splits to a whole new level.
  9. Nobody's losing with mom in the front row.
  10. Is Rock's ex wife sitting with his mother?
  11. Right finish, but felt pretty anticlimactic. Would've liked a hotter sequence leading to the final elimination.
  12. Is it just me or do the ropes look unusually loose?
  13. Pure gold. Absolutely hilarious.
  14. #2 - Jericho. Now I'm sitting up.

  16. That's what I was thinking. How the hell do you step on the plane?
  17. It should benefit them. At the same time, I don't penalize anyone for losing it long after their primes. Willie Mays is no less a GOAT candidate due to his years with the Mets, or Jordan with the 'zards (though that's more like Funk in the '90s than Flair in the aughts). Once you've established an especially great body of work, that should stand on its own apart from the crap that may manifest at the end.
  18. No doubt about it. Only the best are able to overcome their physical limitations. This goes back to the point that while many can lay out a great match, not everyone can go and execute it.

  20. Rock said he was coming back to win the title and main event Mania. I don't see any reason to doubt those plans.

  22. Thanks, that was really awesome. I could watch a 4 hour version of that without any problem. Just an absolute sucker for it.
  23. Damn, blocked domestically due to the music.
  24. No later than early summer. Maybe sooner. Gotta knock out MX first. Then another yearbook and LAwler will be my spring break projects along with the MOTYC set (probably) aqnd maybe another DVDVR 80s set (lucha). That's how marriages end. The extra money has taken my wife on vacation for the last 4 years, the kids to Disneyland last year and a bunch of free concerts and stuff through making friends while indulging in this hobby. I love wrestling. Ha. I meant my marriage and presumably others who spend hours watching them. No doubt it does you a solid.
  25. Yep.
