How was the show? AAA often offers matches that look interesting on paper but there's seemingly no rhyme or reason as to when said matches will deliver quality as opposed to crazed clusterfuckery.

NXT When Worlds Collide (Now this is what it's like)
WingedEagle replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I'm actually really looking forward to this card even if it seems to be taking place in a vacuum where nothing that happens matters going forward on any show. If DIY vs. Bate/Seven is anything short of absolutely fantastic I'll be crushed. Setting myself up for disappointment with expectations like that, but they have to be shooting for the moon. Gargano's work over the last half decade is easily my favorite on this continent so I'm excited to see him back on a big stage. Dragunov hasn't impressed me much outside of some pairings with Walter in WXW but he seems to have impressed in NXT UK thus far and will probably get an opportunity to look great tonight, especially if he's dropping the fall. Ripley/Storm and the CW 4 way could both over-deliver as I'm usually impressed by how the company lays out multi-man matches and one with Garza, Scott and Devlin shouldn't fall that category, while Ripley & Storm have shown solid chemistry and are likely to fare well unless they're booked to go too long. Not a show that's going to cause me to rearrange my Saturday night plans, but there's no way I'm putting off a DIY tag for Adam Driver on SNL. -
WWE TV 01/20 - 01/26 Lost 10 pounds in two days AMA
WingedEagle replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Really liked how Asuka was sitting on the top rope without interfering during Becky/Kairi. It added a different dynamic to the match than the basic interference we saw earlier and typically see in such settings but without overshadowing the match itself. -
Awesome, hope to dive in at some point. Appreciate all keeping the big list updated.

Is there a full, comprehensive list everyone is working from?

Love seeing all the suggestions. Hopefully we get a comprehensive list soon enough.

WWE TV 1/6/20-1/12/20: At least 2019 is finally over
WingedEagle replied to Ricky Jackson's topic in WWE
That's a fair point, and I have no idea. Which makes sense since nothing matters, but, hey, here we are discussing it. -

Are they really going to blow up Heyman's streak of calling spoilers on a Rumble? -

Is there any chatter about a potential Mania lineup? I seem to recall reading something about Roman/Wyatt, which would be an absolute waste, yet also entirely consistent for Roman. But that's it. -
I'm not really a FB guy. Is it possible to list the matches here? Sounds like a super fun project.
-
Without question. Hopefully we didn't peak too soon.

I was already intrigued by this match and seeing Archer in such a prominent position, but am now massively more interested than I was 3 minutes and 49 seconds ago.

Not sure one gets points for Amy Schumer.

Amen. I am not tuned out from modern wrestling, at times for better or certainly for worse, but I love this place nonetheless and it remains one of my daily visits.

It was even more unbearable given the timing. This was an overrun for the sake of rubbing our faces in the dirt. Maybe it would've been better without the first two interruptions from extras? Maybe if it was obvious to anyone that it was Liv Morgan or that her hype videos somehow tied into this? Maybe if it wasn't built up for weeks only to result in another interim angle involving Rusev yet again? It was from good but nowhere near campy or short enough to make for proper wrestlecrap. It was just bad television. Oh, and the only reason the AJ/Orton angle from earlier in the night doesn't rival this for worst segment is because it was much shorter. Equally dumb and preposterous, but somehow featuring worse writing and acting.
-
That's nonsense. I love older wrestling, newer wrestling and any wrestling in between, but that's simply not the point here. This Post Malone/Classic Rock business is garbage. Arn's podcast is terrific and only wish there were more content like it out there, whether spoken or written. in contrast, Cornette isn't discussing any era in which he played a prominent part or is especially familiar with. Apparently he doesn't think there's much of a market for that because his gimmick is literally inflammatory hyperbole for the sake thereof.
-
Why does anyone talk about Jim Cornette in 2019/20?

I finally caught up on Raw and really liked how they built up and executed Joe's confrontation with the heels at the end of the show. It seems Rollins' main issue with Owens so I'm not sure what to expect on the Joe side of things, but this flew under the radar due to the calendar.
-
I'm afraid you're selling it short at 8 hours. I'd probably set the over/under at ten if I had to. It turns out I'm taking off the following Monday/Tuesday from work so I hope to get through most of the shows by then as its already going to be a busy weekend.

My understanding is that the Stardom match will be dark and won't air on NJ World. Hope I'm mistaken.

WWE TV 12/16 - 12/22 the road to Royal Rumble begins!

Ricochet & Carrillo are having a pretty solid empty arena match. -
Daniel Bryan makes everything better. Literally the wrestling Jesus who can turn piss into wine.

At least there is no red lighting. #forevergrateful.
