AJ vs. Corbin vs. Dillinger This won't make any MOTY lists and may not even be among AJ's top 15-20 matches since joining the company, but it was an absolutely incredible performance that should be pointed to when making a case for him as one of the greatest of all time. Styles bumped all over the ring and floor, killing himself at every turn while supplying most of the impactful spots and near falls to turn a match that featured one of the company's poorest workers into a real highlight. Not a fan of Corbin's push being reignited here, but there's no denying this was a joy to watch. Just amazing. ***3/4

Rusev vs. Orton was perfectly solid but never not at all special beyond Rusev's always underrated and underutilized strikes. A real shame he can't get a push. **3/4

Okay that was a pretty terrific tag and cell match. Loved how they used the weapons and gimmicks in creative fashion and managed to fill so much time without it ever dragging. Add in a clean, decisive finish and you've got a pretty great match. ****

It looks like the Cell isn't properly centered around the ring. Looks like a lot less space between ring and cage on one side in particular.

The lineup is close to trash. Tag Title HIAC should be good. Women's title very well could be. Adding Tye Dillinger to the US Title match is an upgrade. The main event may offer memorable stunts. But the build the entire way to this show has been awful save for the Vince angle. Best thing going for tonight is that when expectations are this low the show usually delivers. Then again, I said the same thing about Battleground and that was an all time bad PPV. Let's do it!

This got a recent mention in Melter's Wanz obituary. Fun to get a little context and look back on it.

Fuck you, you idiot. Ole was anything but and was a perfectly fine bumper to boot. You just had not watch enough Ole, who's a terrific worker (and one of the best promo ever). Great team. You tell him! Not to mention possibly an all time squasher.

This really was a terrific mugging of Tarzan Boy building to his comeback in the second fall. Satanico remains the standout in CMLL to this point, as he brings an aggression and purpose that doesn't seem to translate for everyone else in the picture. If somehow a match with great fire and heat can lack action this may be it. There's certainly something to be said for not giving away too much here, but the action didn't quite seem up to par with the energy and hate, if that makes any sense. ***1/4

May have to check this out again as I didn't follow the post-match action so clearly, but was a big fan of the match itself, possibly the best yet from this crew. Loved the energetic, all out start and especially the commitment from everyone involved to establish and work within their roles. It makes for a much more engaging match that rises above the action itself, even if that was more than solid here. Really looking forward to tracking this crew throughout the decade. ***3/4

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4

He is phenomenal. I'd recommend checking out his big tag & singles matches from BJW and his other stops over the last couple years. A really terrific pro wrestler who shines whether working as a comedic lug in DDT, powerhouse title contender or tag monster. -

Given their day to day investment in ROH, I don't see them allocating significant resources to represent independent contractors in a legal matter. -

Except lawyers are expensive. I'm not interested enough to look into the details and merits of WWE's claims, but if there's any good faith basis then it could very well cost quite a few shirts to litigate. -
Not to throw cold water on it, but I didn't find the Destroyer interview all that terrific. There were more than a couple occasions (unfortunately escaping me at the moment) where Jericho let go some blatant exaggerations. While I understand that to an extent, it made me wonder about the accuracy of the other points and stories that I'm not familiar with. Very fun listen but I think it would've benefited from a tighter focus.

Great news. Hope friends and family are safe!

They are emotionally drained after the big Enzo victory. Apparently you really can't teach that.

Crowd is surprisingly dead for the main event.

I don't see Cena disappearing, but why the prolonged exit? Felt odd if he's going to be back anytime soon.

Very unfortunate break for Mayu and perhaps Stardom. The decision to award Storm the title on the spot seems quite rushed but we'll see how its handled on subsequent shows.

Really fun Bobby-centric collection on the Network. The type of material you can easily breeze through or have on while doing other things. Guaranteed smiles and laughs.

Couldn't have said it better.

How have I never heard that Heenan story before? Terrific video last night, really looking forward to seeing it again tonight. Beating the drum here, but not until thinking back about Heenan following his passing did it really occur to me how just how prominent he was as I became a wrestling fan and throughout those formative years. I was very much your typical Hogan junkie and then hopped onto Savage when his moment came. The turn heading into 5 made him the biggest heel I'd known to that point. However, Heenan was that constant foil for Mania's before and after, and more importantly throughout the weekly television. He ensured that I was behind behind every single babyface while serving as the glue and arguably most important weekly character on television. Amazing to think about the trust that was put into him compared with basically any color commentator since then.

For those with NJ World on Fire TV Stick -- is there a quick and handy way to find/navigate to older shows? Let's say I wanted to watch Wrestle Kingdom 10, G1 Climax Night 6 from 2013 or KOPW from 2012. How do I get there without copious scrolling? The search function works to an extent, but seems to bring up very incomplete results.

Cena & Jason Jordan had a really good match to open the show. Not sure if the Jordan gimmick can be salvaged, but Cena tried his best to make him tonight. Another fun Cena/Roman promo segment followed to wrap up a great first half hour.
