  1. I think it could work as the last match if they add some legends in Cena's corner like Austin, Warrior, etc. to counteract Rowan and Harper in Bray's corner. Then they can have a feel good moment with Cena and the legends celebrating at the end, which would be better than having Batista winning over Orton at the end.
  2. Dish is usually very litigious. I'm quite surprised that they have not filed a lawsuit against WWE yet if they have this in a contract.
  3. I think Mike McGuirk occasionally did commentary.
  4. David is right that wrestlingforum.com is probably the biggest. The forums at wrestlezone.com, freakinawesomenetwork.com, and wrestlecrap.com are fairly big too. Prowrestling.com, wrestlingfigs.com, and rajah.com have medium sized forums. A smaller forum with some interesting content is sportsandwrestling.mywowbb.com.
  5. Enjoyed the podcast. I saw one of the Roberts/Martel pre-Wrestlemania blindfold matches live. Watching in the arena, you watch both the guys at the same time. On tv, the changing between different camera angles makes the viewer lose the sense of space between Roberts and Martel, since the camera focuses on one instead of both. So much of the tension of the match comes from Jake and Rick wandering around trying to grab the other one, and I believe this comes across a million times better in person than on tv.
  6. I think it was from November 16.
  7. Does anyone know what's up with TCW? They have been airing repeats the last two weeks and don't have any shows scheduled until this Mid-South fan fest. Are they having money problems?
  8. I thought it was great to see the Warrior letter, and since they are using the exact links Bix posted, I feel like he should get some credit. I know Meltzer had said a couple years back that he had seen a July contract, but to actually see the documents was fascinating. It disproves the false day of Summerslam story that had long persisted, but it also showed Warrior had not told us everything he demanded besides the Wrestlemania main event level payout he was promised by Vince verbally. The truth always seems to lie somewhere in the middle in wrestling.
  9. The various news sites have picked up the Warrior letters that Bix posted here. They could have at least given Bix credit for finding and transcribing them.
  10. It looks like it was a 5 that he scribbled out and turned into 1 not an 8
  11. He's been friendly with Punk and RVD in the past, so they could be choices.
  12. WWE should do a cheap game show for the network. They could get Miz or Jericho to host it. They could have WWE trivia and Double Dare style messy physical challenges.
  13. I don't see any positives to ending the streak. If they want to turn Cena heel, which I don't think we will see anytime soon, they could have him lose to the Undertaker, and then be a poor sport after the match and viciously attack him.
  14. Dish Network has been running an odd promo for Survivor Series on one of its preview channels over the weekend. The first ten minutes is part of a 2008 match with Michaels, Mysterio, Khali, and Cryme Tyme vs. JBL, Kane, MVP, the Miz, and Morrison. Then they run the Wyatt Family commercial for this year's show. Then they show ten minutes of the Rock and Cena vs. Miz and R Truth from 2011. I would think WWE could have put a package together to actually promote this year's show, but I guess they don't really care, or they want to trick people into thinking that they will see stars from the past.
  15. The funny thing is Ringwald was famous for leaving the U.S. and moving to France as her career cooled off in the early 90's. The couple of French films she made must not have done well.
  16. I think it's interesting that Hennig doesn't seem to bomb against Hogan throughout the country. He sets Hogan's all time low in Madison Square Garden at 11500, even though that only stands for a couple months until Hogan bombs against Earthquake with 9500. Hennig also has weak numbers in Philadelphia and Minneapolis, but he is closer to middle of the road in most other places. Certainly Hennig is no great draw, but the stigma of the New York result really seems to stick to him.
  17. When Fox briefly ran Saturday Night's Main Event in the early 90's, I assume the deal ended because of bad ratings. Did Vince and Fox end on good terms or did he alienate them somehow?
  18. I always wondered whether Vince knew what Piper was going to say ahead of time, Vince didn't really care, or they were just too lazy to retape the commentary.
  19. They did a bad job of transitioning Del Rio's character to a face. They should have done skits with Ricardo teaching him to relate to the common man, like going bowling or going to the grocery store. He needed something more than just changing to smiling all the time.
  20. While "Oklahoma" was definitely sleazy, Ross had let Ferrara do the same impersonation earlier in the WWF as part of a skit with Tiger Ali Singh, Ferrara, Ross, and Steve Williams.
  21. Bruiser is doing a nice job on these shoot reviews.
  22. It looks like Meltzer isn't the only one having editing problems. The headline in the picture says "Baried Wire City" instead of "Barbed Wire City."
  23. Nice match. Most of the match was fast paced, and I liked Rogers's arm work on Gilbert.
  24. WWE has challenged Glenn Beck to appear on Raw Monday. These sorts of challenges, such as Bischoff challenging McMahon to show up on PPV, always seem lame and desperate to me. I wonder if Vince is starting to worry about his somewhat weak Wrestlemania lineup and is trying to score any cheap heat possible to get attention.
  25. I hadn't watched this match since '89, so it was fun to revisit it. The match had two main storylines. Warrior had been feuding with the Heenan Family on and off through '88 and '89, and with Tully's absence and Heenan substituting, he would get a chance for vengance against Heenan for Heenan's interference in his matches. There was also the storyline of "dissension" in the Heenan Family that had been mentioned in the weeks leading up to the match. With Andre eliminated by countout as soon as the match started, Anderson and Haku faced the uphill battle of basically a four on two match with Heenan playing the chicken who only comes in to beat on downed opponents. Although Haku doesn't have much personality, he looks good in this match with good execution of his moves, and of course, Anderson is one of the all time great tag workers. Warrior is really fun in this match and shows a lot of enthusiasm. Like Matt mentioned, he keeps the crowd involved while on the apron. He also paces back and forth on the apron like caged cat, which really fits his character. After Jannetty is eliminated, Warrior sort of becomes the substitute Rocker by doing double team moves with Shawn. They advance the Heenan Family storyline with the tired Anderson questioning why Heenan won't tag in. Warrior finally gets the best of Arn, and Heenan berates Arn as he is leaving. The crowd erupts as Warrior finally gets his hands on Heenan, and Heenan takes some great bumps. Warrior nails Heenan with a clothesline on the way back to the dressing room in a humorous final spot. This was a really enjoyable match with solid work and good storylines coming together. Ventura was also good on commentary. His focusing on the action is so much better than the color commentary style of today.
