  1. Don't know how useful this info is but there is a "Misc ECW/TNA/ROH etc" part so.. Here's what I've got for iPPVs ROH: CHIKARA: New Japan: I have no idea how legit this TNA numbers are, just stumbled across a big list of estimates on "tnawrestling101.com" but no clue if Meltzer is the source:
  2. This is awesome Nell. I would have thought the numbers for 1995 were even worse than that. Although I guess shit really hit the fan in 96' and 97'.
  3. I guess Nell gave up on this? Anyways, here's the results from WWE's latest quarter earnings conference call
  4. Going by that logic. What Austin did translated on the survival of the WWF and, considering the path wCw was inevitably going, that might be a bigger thing that Flair keeping JCP alive. Unless we are combining both parallel universes so that without Flair = no wCw, so therefore Austin doesn't get to work there, get fired and...Fuck, now I have a headache.

I didn't care for how Juanito executed the 'rana but I didn't get why he did the move if it was only a set up for the FU. It didn't take away my enjoyment of the match one bit (thought it was fun as fuck) but I was laughing at how unnecessary that spot felt

Dirty Dutch gives no fucks. I love it.
  7. He didn't suck before he bulked up. He was the best "young lion" New Japan has had in a long ass time.
  8. Jake and DDP trying to convince Scott Hall to join them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJbobngftqU Kevin Nash on twitter commenting on Hall and his current state Update from Jake and DDP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B67UQG0vp1Y...=youtu.be&a
  9. Has he explained why every damn article he writes is in some way related to Punk? I get that he's a big stan of his but my god. It's February of 2013 and he still thinks Punk created something that lasted and boosted business? It's like he keeps pushing this idea that we are in a new Era or that Punk could still lead us that way. This is the first time I've read something from him were I couldn't even read past the 3rd paragraph, shit was beyond horrible.
  10. I don't know if New Japan is overrated. I mean, it's not like there's a lot of promotions that deliver like them on a consistent basis and does good business. But then again, it is true that some people praise them as if they were doing something exceptional when that is not the case. I think Dave's pimping is a major factor on New Japan's rise in IWC popularity.
  11. I'm half way through and this has been awesome. Haven't watched a lot of wrestling in the last few months and this podcast has me wanting to rewatch tons of stuff. One question. You guys talked about footage being available for Funk vs Harley in 75' and a 30 minute hair match between Lawler and Dundee. Where can I find these matches? Are there anywhere online (I'm completely broke at the moment and couldn't afford a comp right now). Any help would be appreciated.
  12. Yeah. Although I've always read opinions of the Takada match being a top 3 IWGP Title match ever (and I agree with it) I haven't seen anyone give them 5 snowflakes or call it a "perfect" match.
  13. Lance Russell's interview from last week was awesome. What a great man.

  15. Is DVDVR still down or did it just changed url? http://board.deathvalleydriver.com/index.php?showforum=2 still doesn't work for me.

  17. Yeah, I just thought the Cell was always a big draw until they went overboard with it in the last couple of years. Just curious though, did Flair/Michaels had a better build up than Piper/Hogan (the "big" undercard match for Judgement Day 03')? Was is it seen as a bigger match at the time?
  18. I'm amazed that Brock vs Taker in a HIAC match didn't mean a thing (it drew the same as Unforgiven 1 month prior) but Nash vs HHH in HIAC meant a 70k boost less than a year later.
  19. yeah, but if we don't even know the estimate of how many households could get PPV, there's not a lot we can get from the buyrate percentages.
  20. JNLister posted it in this thread
  21. Awesome idea. I'm the guy who did that thread in the-coli . Pre-2000 is very difficult to know what numbers are 100% credible. Hell, most of the ones I've got from the Observer change from time to time too (I've seen Dave report Wrestlemania V doing 780,000 - 767,000 and like 725,000 buys for example). Nowadays you get like 2 or 3 reports for the same PPV and it's never is the same number . I tried to always put the latest information on every show, but I'm sure there's a couple of PPVs were there is more updated info. When it comes to ECW, I remember listening to Dave Lagana's podcast were he told that they were doing between 90,000 and 60,000 buys at their peak.
