My guess is that they are gonna use Henry to set up Lesnar vs his Wrestlemania opponent. But man, even if we just get a 2 week feud between face/tweener Hall Of Pain Henry and Brock that ends in a Rumble match, I'd be more than happy. Henry/Big E vs Brock/??? would be awesome too.

POSSIBLE BIG RAW SPOILER from tonight's Smackdown! tapings (we are all gonna love this if true...) http://www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2013/1...-wwe-smackdown/ another source http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/441207-spo...eturning-to-wwe
  3. It's not the LLT or the Barbwire match so I guess it's the studio one.
  4. And he did a waaayy better job interviewing D-Bry.
  5. It was a very dull interview for the most part, but I've read/listened to probably 90% of Bryan's interviews so there isn't much I'd like someone to ask him (besides his experience on working with Taker and kinda joking with him in that London show) so yeah, I don't see much wrong with it either.

Regal vs Cesaro was amazing. I don't think there was 1 wasted move, everything made sense.
  7. This. I knew Londos was big but not THAT big, would love to read more about him.
  8. Only read the first 10 pages so apologies if this have been asked: Rey Mysterio or Jushin Liger? Chris Benoit or Bryan Danielson?
  9. Heh. Still think Bryan wins though cause he doesn't have a lot of competition this year. I don't think Okada or Tanahashi are really up there this year. Punk fell off. John Cena missed some time. If you could vote for The Shield as one unit, maybe! I agree with Goldust for Comeback & Reigns for Rookie although I like Summer Rae too, she has no chance of even getting a vote. Reigns isn't eligible for rookie. What might hurt Okada and Tanahashi is the fact that NJPW folks could split the vote. I contend that Okada is a much better candidate than Tanahashi, but I have been told I'm crazy for thinking that by people who are bigger NJPW fans than I am. At this point I am likely to vote WOTY Cena, Okada.....no clue who is third. I actually don't see anyone with a super compelling case. I'm not a fan of Tanahashi, but I acknowledge that he would be a reasonable pick, though nothing he did in the last year really makes me feel like he's a super strong candidate. I am a fan of Bryan, but if we look at returns he arguably had a less impressive year than Mark Henry's 2011, and I was told I was "stretching" for a favorite of mine when I touted him as a strong candidate that year. Punk was unwatchable for much of the year, stuck in one of the least interesting feuds involving good talents I can remember. Orton is better as a heel, but he's still not someone I want to watch, and he does nothing for business at all (not even as a merch seller). I wouldn't vote for part timers for this award, and I don't think Lesnar or HHH deserve it anyway, with The Rock being so horrible in the ring I can't really see voting for him either. The rest of Japan is in trouble, except for Dragon Gate and I can't imagine anyone from that fed being a strong candidate. Super indies are on their ass relative to other years, and I don't see someone to throw a bone to there. There is no one near what Aries was doing as a worker/act in TNA last year, so I can't see tossing a "breakout year" vote to anybody there. Last year I had Casas in my top three, and I think Casas and Rush have had really strong in ring years this year in Mexico, but CMLL isn't really drawing worth a shit. I agree with the notion that The Shield as a unit would be worth some sort of vote but that's not possible. For that reason I am tempted to vote them 1,2,3 in that category, even though that is completely absurd. As it stands I can't see having 2 NJPW guys in my top three (especially when I don't think much of either guy as a worker), nor am I high on giving Bryan the benefit of the doubt, like every other "smart" fan on earth. Given that I might just vote Goldust third since there is no "comeback" category, and the guy works harder than anyone else in the company. Although I don't agree with some of your arguments for not voting for some people, I get why you wouldn't vote for them (Tana, Bryan, Casas) but then you say you would vote for Goldust?? I've loved what he has done this year but I don't see how Goldust escapes from the arguments that made you not vote for other people.

I didn't see or listened to the conference call so I may be completely wrong here, but why do people take the "swing and miss" quote from Vince and think he is just talking about Bryan vs Cena? Punk vs Brock was built as just as important as the WWE title match and it got a lot of tv time too. To me that was even worse because you have Punk as their "1B" guy (to Cena's 1A) and you put him against a legit draw like Lesnar in a very well booked angle...and it still bombs. The Summerslam number always struck me as a bigger indication to Punk as a draw than D-Bry. And it weird to me how WWE seemingly didn't see it that way.
  11. Don't remember Austin saying that in the last 2 episodes. Did I miss it or it's just BS by lordsofpain? (wouldn't be the first time from them) He announced it. That's fucking awesome And in even bigger podcast news, this happened a couple of hours ago: https://twitter.com/TheRock/statuses/404779563294543872 https://twitter.com/steveaustinBSR/status/404797093841473536
  12. A struggle indeed.
  13. Man, they gotta give Reigns the Batista training system. No Flair and HHH to learn from and travel with but give Dustin 3 months with the guy and he'll do wonders.

  15. It's either that or Dave thinks most his readers/voters are morons who can't possibly evaluate old footage the right way. I get why he tends to not respond a lot on wrestling boards but is he always so dismissive in person? Do people actually talk about this kind of criticism when they talk to him? Just curious.
  16. Has anybody tried contacting Shoemaker about the mistakes in his book? He seems like a nice guy and I would guess he'd welcome the chance to get shit right. Then again he might just be a gimmick? Oh well.
  17. They really went for another fuck finish with this feud, I want to say I'm shocked but sadly I'm not. Fucking up promising angles has been a staple of WWE in the last 5 years (Jericho/Michaels, Jericho/Rey and Edge/Taker are the last big programs I remember having a long build and a satisfying ending). If Shawn was going to superkick D-Bry it should have been a full fledged heel turn, not a half ass "he hurt my frieeend" homotional crap. Yes, this could lead to something if Michaels really turns on RAW or in the coming weeks but like I said on other threads, unless he's willing to get in the ring and put Bryan over, then there's little to be gained with him turning. Now, if all of this was made to give Shawn an excuse to make Orton win and not turn, then stupidity really knows no limits.
  18. So it seems Peter Rosenberg is joining TMM for the occasional podcast. Can't complain about this honestly, I like Rosenberg.
  19. Interesting, I don't know why I thought Punk/Hardy was a lackluster program business wise. Maybe they drew 1 bad buyrate and that gave me that impression? I can't remember. Rey being gone hasn't meant much in the past 2 (?) years he's been mostly away due to injuries. There's no doubt there was a time when he was key for drawing good house shows numbers but at this point? I'm not so sure about that.
  20. close to 350,000 I get what are you saying but he isn't doing it that well on the house show front either according to Meltzer (is there any other source to current HS business?), he's not doing bad, but with no Cena attendance has dropped. I mean, we can also blame that to the weird booking the Bryan vs Corporation feud has had, and to being paired with Orton's non drawing ass but we can find an excuse for a lot of people if we really try. I'd really like to know how well Jeff Hardy did in his short stint on top with his programs with HHH and CM Punk.

My exacts feelings. It made no sense but it was fun as fuck to watch.
  22. It ain't looking very good And NOC probably did a terrible number too. A horrible build up, a non draw like Orton, Mayweather/Canelo and Niners/Seahawks didn't help but still...it seems Bryan is one of those "over but can't draw much" type of guys.

So on the post-RAW Wrestling Observer Radio podcast they were talking about the exchange between Stephanie and Orton, were Steph told him to go back to his psycho days or they would have to find another face for the company. Dave interrupted and said "I know who they are gonna find though". Then he revealed that Michaels is scheduled to appear in a few weeks. I'm not saying Michaels is the guy but that's two big news about the angle that should be revealed in the coming weeks. Could it be that WWE finally has a long term plan that they are willing to follow or am I just reading too much into things?
  24. DLR dropping that knowledge was indeed awesome.
