Real Americans vs Sheamus/Christian was all kinds of fun. Man, this Elimination Chamber could be one of the best ones they've ever done.

I have a feeling that 5 years from now, someone is gonna ask "what was the plan that time they made Miz bytch on commentary? I remember him interrupting filler matches on RAW for 5 weeks or so and then having a very short lived run tagging with Ziggler. But then it suddenly stopped. Hell, Miz was fired 3 months later. Did he fucked up or pissed someone off? And the answer will be "nah, he just sucked".
  3. How do we know Bryan/Orton had a bad number? Do we have the quarter hours? The last hour of RAW has been losing viewers for a while now. The day Batista returned, the last 60 minutes of the show - which had the "cliffhanger" of Cena showing up to avenge his father - lost 600,000 viewers...

Considering their consistenly good ratings and the ammount of cash networks give to other programs who have a smaller audience, I don't see 220-250 million as a crazy number for WWE's prodcut (wanting NASCAR money is insane). Hell, if they wanna get double of what they get now I wouldn't call them crazy either. But yeah, the fact that wrestling is a low brow product and that advertirser don't pay a lot of money for it, makes it hard for them to get a big TV deal. I guess what I find "unfair" is how the bad perception wrestling has fucks their abilty to negociate despite having a good and very loyal audience.

    http://nypost.com/2014/02/08/valentines-breakup-nbcuniversal-and-wwe-may-split-up/ I guess they'll never get a fair deal.
  6. Yeah, they came back. Not sure exactly when. Fritz still runs the show, does a decent job overall. Not as funny as when D'Lo and the others were on, but it's not bad. Steve (can't spell the last name, won't try) is more of an MMA guy and he has good chemistry with Fritz, but the 3rd guy, Michael Wiseman, is a poor fit, in my opinion. He comes across as being too opinionated for his own good and when he does makes a good point, there is not logical connection to what Fritz or Steve say. He's sometimes contrary just to be contrary. Again, it's not a bad show -- and they get some okay guests, like Cornette most recently -- but it's not what it once was. Aw man, I loved the original trio of Fritz, Vito and the other guy (can't remember his name). Even when D'Lo joined it was a very good listen. Good to know that Fritz still does it though.
  7. Between The Ropes still exists?! Do they still get good guests for interviews? Are they still funny?
  8. I have the same issue
  9. Nah. He wont talk until he's completely out of WWE. It all seems to indicate he didn't burn bridges with Vince and that the old man wants him back ASAP, so I'm sure they've been talking lately. Punk is not gonna come out and tell what happened unless it's safe to do it or it doesn't matter anymore and it doesn't look like we are there yet.
  10. Also, Cena coming out for revenge in the go home show for the Rumble lost like 1 million viewers in that last hour.
  11. That's not a huge drop considering the patern of the last few weeks. It's been a while that the 3rd hour drops. A quarter hour breakdown would be more telling.
  12. I just wont believe HHH going over until I see it, it's just too damn tragic/funny.

Taped for this week's Smackdown!: Bryan vs Cesaro
  14. I think the point of it all is that regardless of Hunter/Steph's intentions with the promos - play to the internet, put themselves over, harm Bryan, make DB a popular underdog or whatever the fuck they are trying to do - that kinda interview doesn't work when you wanna make someone a legit drawing star. Right?

I'm loving the Shield/Wyatts feud so far. I agree that the end game should be an all out, dangerous brawl between the 2 factions but considering how little time they have to build the match and that it seems there's no way they'll get more than 1 PPV match between them, I don't see how their program gets to be as memorable as it should be.
  16. So Austin just recorded this week's Unleashed episode. He's gonna be talking about the Rumble, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. He also answered questions and took live calls. Even Meltzer had an appearance to talk about the current product. Can't wait
  17. this is still crowing at me. But I guess if they do the right thing in the end the path is insignificant. But yes clearly the plan was never to give Bryan the fairty tale story ending. With all that said I bet you they still believed they elevated him to a certain status even without the happy ending Well they have elevated him to a certain status. It may not be equivalent to how over he is (and certainly not as important as fans want it to be), but since last May, they have given him a way bigger role in the company.
  18. If that happens, it's gonna be hilarious hearing them talk about this when they make a Bryan DVD. Fans were eager to see him with the belt, but the more we made them wait, the more they loved him - Triple H It was all part of Vince's/Hunter's plan, he's a genius. That night in Seattle was perfect - Michael Hayes

Nah. https://twitter.com/KurtannaJPruitt/status/...3137536/photo/1 His eye is swollen shut but it's he's not gonna miss any significant time. Watch him come out on RAW, look at the camera man and say "Ohh it's great to SEE you guys again!"
  20. I'm not american so I could be wrong, but I do remember reading wrestling news sites at the time that were reporting the mainstream attention WWE was getting with Trump's involvement. I mean, they were getting mainstream buzz. But I don't know if it was powerful enough to say Trump was the biggest draw of that show.
  21. Business was tanking, but it's weird that the Royal Rumble drew better than Wrestlemania (numbers taken out of the Observer) and even if you don't believe in the accuracy of the numbers, The Rumble suffered an 80-100k aprox. drop, No Way Out a 100-125k aprox. drop, and Mania had a 250-280k aprox. drop. That's very weird. The "digital cable box only" explanation is the one that makes the most sense to me, but I don't know if that story is even true.
  22. I read somewhere that Mania 19 was the first digital cable only PPV. As in you could order it ONLY IF you had a digital cable box. Maybe that had something to do with it?

It was a great promo but I don't see it as being career changing or something like that at all. And yeah, kayfabe wise it made little sense but his whole gimmick is about putting on a show regardless of the outcome of the match

After watching Smackdown, I really hope that some miracle happens and they postpone Shield's break up for a couple of months. That promo by Bray/Harper was the best I've seen from them as a stable and it's a shame that we'll only get to see them feud for 1 month and for only 1 match. Reigns push has been done perfectly so far imo, but does anyone have any faith WWE wont over push him too soon and/or give him a horrible babyface character by June?
