    Wrestlemania 37

Riott Squad, specially Ruby, were a bright spot but that was not fun to watch.

    Wrestlemania 37

Lana is even worse than 3 years ago. Wouldn't believe that was possible unless I was seeing it.

Well damn Matt, stop doing drugs and do some DDP Yoga before it's too late.

I'm shocked that was a clean W, for on them for that call.

    Wrestlemania 37

This has been pretty good since the 2nd half. They are better at bombfest than a hoss battle (at least tonight)

    Wrestlemania 37

All I can think is that they wanted to fill time until everyone was on their seats.

With all these audio botches I want a Vince Mcmahon live mic to make this a top 5 Mania.

    Wrestlemania 37

After that Braun promo I'm thankful I haven't watched RAW in years. The story is that he's being bullied?

    Wrestlemania 37

For real? I thought Drew was bombing out there.

    Wrestlemania 37

Feeling bad for them having to improvise like that. MVP showed out, Drew? well he needed a moment, I guess.
  16. Interesting. Are international tours losing money too? I'd guess a couple of european, south american and australian tours would do well post COVID and if done yearly.

    Brock Lesnar

Disagree. Those matches worked at the beginning because Brock had 1) An aura that Ryback never did. Even when was undefeated you never thought Ryback could break another wrestler in half if he really wanted to (shit, Ryback struggled with some feats of strength spots) nor create a sense of chaos like Brock 2) Brock's momentum towards those matches was pretty unique. He ended The Streak at Mania and then obliterated John Cena at Summerslam back to back. Then he wrecked havoc in the title match at the Rumble and then had that really special match with Reigns. That was what basically made WWE/Heyman think "suplex city" was the only way Lesnar could wrestle from that day forward. No fucking way a dude like Ryback would get in a position to not only be able to get that treatment but to have enough respect from the audience to make them work, even at 80% or whatever.
  18. Also, if they want a "miracle worker" case just watch his feud with Wataru Inoue. To this day I can't believe Ishii had me so damn invested in a nothing wrestler like Inoue.
  19. I'm on the group of people that don't like him going so long when, as stated by Boss Rock, at the very least the first third of his matches are uninteresting (there's exceptions of course, like the ZBJ IWGP title match or the Shibata classic) and I become even more frustrated by them when Okada never fails to deliver in a finishing stretch. He might the best ever at building drama in a finishing sequence. So him in tighter matches with high stakes would probably have me in awe, instead of fast forwarding or being bored for 10-15 minutes in his long "epics". Doesn't help that I had completely soured on the New Japan main event style by the time the last vote happened and it hasn't gotten any better for my tastes. Having said that, this scrutiny comes from me putting him against the elite of the elite, n°1 candidates. And there's a ton of shit Okada excels at and he has a fuck ton of great performances to his resume so he's still gonna be in a good position in my ballot. We'll see how he does in the next 5 years. I hope this becomes one of the busiest threads this time around. I find Okada's case fascinating and he has to be one of the favorites to jump the highest in this new version of GWE. Really looking forward to debate and read people's opinion on him being possibly a n°1 candidate in the coming years.

    Daniel Bryan

I also think his wXw match against Hero in the 16 Carat Gold Tournament from 2008 is in the shortlist of most underrated match of that decade. I've always pimped Bryan's performance during that whole tournament as a stand out of his career and that Hero match is coronation of it. Sure, wXw fans can be annoying as hell but those two put on a fucking clinic that day.

    Brock Lesnar

Such an inconsistent case. Brock has really high highs and very low lows that mostly depend on how much he gave a shit when facing someone. He wasn't on my 100 last time, and I'm not sure he'll have enough from 2016 to 2026 to bump him in, maybe on a rewatch without having all the resent him I had for him for that horrible New Japan "run". I do wonder how his "suplex city" formula will be perceived in the coming years.
  22. I thought he lacked the singles run to push him in a ballot and I hadn't seen much of his 2013-16 work yet. By the time the vote was done Yuji we barely had a couple of his matches of his first run as BJW Strong Heavyweight champion. From the time we did the vote till today, Yuji has enough of a resume to be in "best wrestler on the planet" in almost every year he has worked (sadly we've lost him to injuries a couple of times). I'll eventually pimp his case with a whole bunch of recommendations (or add to what other people will be pimping). As of now, I'm just going to say the Okabayashi has a case for best wrestler of the 2010's. An incredible tag team worker (best tag team in the world with Sekimoto), an amazing fiery babyface, an amazing bully/monster heel, and every time he had the chance to have a singles matches, he took advantage of it. AND he has a couple of classics. Might get into my top 30, lock for top 50.

    Ronda Rousey

Ronda is awesome but she has less footage than Volk Han at this point and she does not comes close to Volk Han in the limited footage we do have. I guess we'll see if she has more matches in the next 5 years. She certainly has the tools to be in my list eventually if she keeps her initial pace up.

    Becky Lynch

I don't know if I'll end up deep diving in to her previous work but she has always been the least interesting worker out of the Sasha/Bailey/Charlotte/Becky group that put women's wrestling in a different light to mainstream WWE fans. I think Becky's been really good but never connected with me on a level were I want to seek out more from her or get that invested in her matches (were she's not working Sasha or Bailey). No chance of making my 100 unless I go back and realize I was missing "it", once I take into account her early work.

    Daniel Bryan

Yeah, I found that puzzling. He has two contenders for best WM match ever in HHH and Kofi (two workers that would never sniff having that kind of match with another opponent) and has the Cena and Sheamus matches as strong candidates for a short list of "goat match". You then take some of his indy stuff and he certainly has signature matches to his name for a generation of fans that became fans in the 2000s. Regardless how people actually feel about those matches and if they are indeed "greatest of all time" material. I do think a big number of fans (and eventual voters) do put them at that level so the idea that he doesn't have signature matches to his name strikes me more as not realizing how his work is perceived or just taking in to consideration the WON/Torch/you-name-it narrative of what the best matches ever are. And in that regard, I don't think it will matter. To add to list some of you have already mentioned. I think a couple of his matches with Low Ki in 2001 are no doubt GOAT match list material. To me, the one from Round Robin Challenge is one of those.
