  1. Sgt slaughter to big time
  2. Detroit was thinking of only doing a couple rounds but after running the numbers and looking at the talent might be sticking around much longer After we take the other two cuban assassins
  3. Lotta big names out there. This might be the shot in the arm the struggling US wrestling industry needs
  4. Rankings are developed by the BTW Board based on overall record, recent performance, and level of competition.
  5. Just a heads up - The Cuban Assassin/Cuban Assassin issue is mostly corrected, but Fidel is on my protected list and still listed in the available-for-draft from Southwest. I know that's gonna mess up all those draft boards that had Big Fidel at #1, hahah.
  6. With the draft and such, I've been having a hard time figuring out exactly what to do with my cards. So, I'm going to post the results from the 11/26 show at Cobo now, just bare bones. I'll do the same with the next one or two TV shows as well. The reason is I have an idea of who goes over but angle plans are really up in the air based on the upcoming draft. Big Time Wrestling Presents ... BTW Heavyweight Championship Tournament Finale Cobo Arena November 26 1983 Stephen Petitpas/Ben Bassarab (2-1) d. Doug Somers/Bobby Bass (1-2) via pinfall Fidel Sierra (2-0) d. Alexis Smirnoff via pinfall Ben Backlund/Tiger Conway Jr (1-0) d. The Valiant Brothers via pinfall Rick Martel (1-0) d. Jesse Barr (1-1) by CO George Steele (2-1) d. Rocky Johnson (1-2) via pinfall - Paul Christy was at ringside with George Steele, and hit Rocky Johnson with a cane while the referee was distracted. Chicky Starr (2-1) d. Leo Burke (1-2) via pinfall Prior to the Tournament Final, Rick Martel was interviewed in the ring. He challenged the winner of the tournament. Chicky Starr hurried from the locker room to protest and the two traded shoves before being separated. Greg Valentine (3-0) d. Ivan Koloff (2-1) via pinfall at 23:43 - During the match, Alexis Smirnoff and Jesse Barr were ejected from ringside. Jesse Ventura remained seated by the timekeeper for the duration of the bout. Greg Valentine won the BTW Heavyweight Championship.
  7. I haven't seen any advertisted in the post-Network era. Buffalo Wild Wings around me used to do Mania and sometimes Rumble/SummerSlam. I do see ROH on TV at a dive bar fairly often but I think that's because they forget to change the station after something else.
  8. I was 10 at the time and absolutely crushed we didn't get Shawn-UT in that King of the Ring. Either of those guys in a face-face (with Diesel maybe playing a bit more tweener) title match at Summerslam would be more memorable but I don't know that it changes overall business.
  9. The Stampede footage is gorgeous. Cold Canadian winters must have been good for storage.
  10. I'm ready whenever
  11. Job posted by WWE today for NXT Live Event Marketing Manager, relevant part: The WWE Live Event Marketing Team is currently seeking an individual for the position of Live Event NXT Marketing Manager. The successful candidate will develop and execute marketing/promotional plans for assigned NXT Live Events including NXT tapings at Full Sail Live as well as NXT Live Shows. He/she will also be responsible for directly managing all aspects of marketing, sales, and public relations for approximately 100 events annually. How does that total compare to the number of events they are running right now? Seems like more?
  12. There's an empty category up now for Stampede. We're getting exactly what was in that survey in the link I posted last night. I don't think this will be the end of the territory stuff, I think it's just going to come in batches like this over the years. Judging by the order stuff from the survey has gone up I'm also guessing these territory shows were the least popular ones of the choices offered since all the other options (except HHH-Era Raw 2000) is already up.
  13. One Man Gang is going to destroy everyone in the territory and I'm going to get bootleg copies of every match in the mail
  14. So here's the survey they sent out a while ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/wwe_network/comments/3oin4c/the_old_wwe_network_survey/ Which seems to cover all of these uploads
  15. I think I'm definitely confusing the AWA stuff with the episodes that were on ESPN Classics, so yeah, never mind. I hope they add a playlist module soon with all this new stuff. Gonna tackle a while to watch it all and would be nice to have an easy way to share things with others.
  16. I feel like almost all of this was on Classics on Demand - maybe some sort of editing/conversion project is finishing?
  17. Love the OMG Was hoping Muraco would go over that freak Wrestling II clean but maybe next time Fun to see Misawa/Kawada team up and it's always nice when a writer includes an act struggling a bit to connect rather than pretending every segment is a home run heat seeker missile.
  18. I like the angle for Hulk's trip to Japan. Picturing the more somber version of Hogan (versus the ultra ego promo style of the late 80s early 90s) and I think it'd come across really well. Cool to see Iceman Parsons hanging around the upper level somewhere other than Texas. The Samu-Robley feud is the type of program that really helps a promotion in the time frame we are working where you can't have Hogan fighting Ishigun on TV every week or something, and you've done good with it.
  19. Big Time Wrestling Protected: Greg Valentine Leo Burke Bob Backlund Dick Murdoch Rick Martel Rocky Johnson Ivan Koloff George Steele Fidel Sierra Chicky Starr Jesse Barr Jesse Ventura Doug Somers Bobby Bass Stephen Petitpas For Draft: Killer Khan Tony Garea Masa Fuchi Ben Bassarab Tiger Conway Jr. Alexis Smirnoff Bobby Kay Rudy Kay Paul Christy Don Carson Killer Karl Krupp Gary Royal Nick DeCarlo Angelo Mosca Jr. Buzz Tyler Ted Allen Pete Doherty Jimmy Valiant Johnny Valiant
  20. Haha, yes, exactly.
  21. There were a couple inaccuracies in mine: Big Time Wrestling (dexstar): 34 & 0 Greg Valentine Rick Martel Ivan Koloff Dick Murdoch Jesse Ventura Ole Anderson - Traded to Memphis for Jesse Barr Rocky Johnson Killer Khan Leo Burke Tony Garea Masa Fuchi Stephen Pettipas Cuban Assassin - Traded to Southwest for Fidel Sierra Chicky Starr Ben Bassarab Bob Backlund Tiger Conway Jr. Alexis Smirnoff Bobby & Rudy Kay Paul Christy Don Carson Killer Karl Krupp Gary Royal Nick DeCarlo Angelo Mosca Jr. Bobby Bass Buzz Tyler Doug Somers Ted Allen George Steele Pete Doherty Jimmy Valiant Johnny Valian
  22. I think Andre as a freelancer is good
  23. The real angle is that WWE is stuck in a company wide time loop that is becoming increasingly erratic and the untainted heroes of NXT are the only ones that can save it. Marvel Universe tie in.
  24. This is what I'm heavily leaning toward.
  25. I like the proposed activity rules and also like the point about being "on vacation". I'd rather people don't worry about catching up on multiple weeks of shows and just move forward on the "real-time" calendar - we can just pretend the promoter couldn't afford to put on shows for a bit
