Which would be funny considering the driving force behind his leaving!

But is Mr. T. > Molly Ringwald? (ducks)

Anyone see the item floating around that the WrestleMania I main event might get inducted as a "Match"? I can see that as a way of getting Mr. T in, despite the rebuffs of him getting into the celebrity wing.

lol, how did I get this rep? When you shot me dirty looks for referring to Where The Big Boys Play as WTBBP!

BTW, the theme song for the Triple H Wrestling With The Past HAS to be The Stones' Sympathy For The Devil! =

Ever get the feeling you get ignored on message boards...

Thinking about it, this could be a good talking point for the June 1981 podcast. If Hogan had stayed, could they have been able to turn him easily in order to do what Vince Jr. wanted to do in 1984? Did Hogan need to "leave" and start his meteoric rise as a face in the AWA? Thing that makes it kind of interesting is that while during the height of the MTV and WrestleMania era, Hogan's first run was completely ignored, BUT in those early days of his return, his previous run WAS actually brought up in promos and interview segments. So the whole "retconing the kayfabe cannon" didn't happen right way when it came to Hogan's time with the company. I mean, sure it would be hard to pretend that he was a different "Hulk Hogan," but they didn't HAVE to reference his past in a "we know that you know, but for the sake of what we're trying to do, we're not going to acknowledge it" sort of way.

I feel like starting the Countdown To Thunderlips Clock with Hogan. According to Graham's site, we have until the early June of 1981 Japan tour for Hogan appearances, and the last one in the States is April 18th in Landover, MD. And he is jobbing like crazy towards the end as I look through the 1981 results! Oh, and for your information (since Parv HATES acronyms, even ones that have been in the lexicon long before private internet and mobile network based conversations), Rocky III was released on May 28th 1982.

A Motorhead fan told me it was a sad day when that partnership happened! Not that he wasn't a fan of Triple H or anything, just the general idea of the band becoming a "go to act" way of selling out I suppose, as opposed to say Triple H (or someone, Johnston, anyone involved in the music selection process) knowing about the song and getting the WWF to get permission to use it.

Good Will Wrestling: WWE Network Reaction
SteveJRogers replied to Loss's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Just thought of something. How is this going to affect other sports with massive historical libraries? I.e. if this hits the jackpot, can I see a day where instead of random games selected every so often on the cable network, I can go on my phone, or tablet and say watch the entire 1984 NFL postseason whenever I want? Or every game, available, of a World Series (from the first broadcast through 1973 there are still massive holes still need to be filled), NBA Finals and Stanley Cup Final. Now, I'm not going to go overboard with regular season stuff, but I could see part of the model including a special "favorite team" package for a little extra where you could get access to everything, again that's available considering the pre-video (and even a little after) history of television networks and stations just not saving things (Johnny Carson's entire New York run lost to the ages for example), of that particular team. What about other "teams" Hmmmm... I don't know, a "pay as you go" if you signed up for the Cubs package and wanted to see the Orioles-Yankee game where Cal Ripken, Jr. finally sat out to end the streak (I want to say final game of the 1998 season) for example. Anyway, just spit balling since that probably would be something to look at in terms of how to watch sports in the coming years. -
TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!

There is that as well = Argue Michaels' placement, and add personal feelings about his IRL persona into the equation all you want, but he should be in conversations among the best of all time as an in-ring performer and as a pro-wrestling character. Triple H? Not so much! When the best attributes you can say is that he was/is a masterful backstage politician, his in ring character and performer probably leads much to be desired.

Michales never had a "Reign of Terror" and with the exception of being the "first to four different title belts" never tried to set records with "imaginary titles." Nor did he sleep his way to the top, and seemed willing to do jobs, without "getting his win back" during his second act.

Complete with instances where its clear those who damn him for certain things (specifically refusing to put people over), consider others who do the same thing to be "best for business (i.e. Austin making political plays against wrestlers the IWC hates (Jarrett, Gunn), or instances where he is proven correct (putting over Lesnar on Raw).

LOL! Only if you have Scott Criscuolo, or any other Triple H fan as the counter point! But, you'd have to use classic Dan Aykroyd to Jane Curtin putdowns. "Scott, you ignorant slut!"

I died laughing watching a YouTube clip that was Cornette ripping the WWE a new one for the firing. Yeah, sure, dollars to donuts says Bryan was told to lay low for a while because they had to "make it look good." I mean why else would they have had Barrett explain away Bryan's disappearance from The Nexus? If he really was shitcanned, there is no way Barrett would have said a damn thing.

Pretty much. A forum that I was on had members pronouncing that he was going be be future endeavored during the spring roster trimming.

Scott Criscuolo will NOT be pleased! Leona Helmsley is where Triple H's, and therefore Stephanie McMahon's stage married name, last name comes from. -

As long as the little one didn't pull the backstage diva act that JR's little one did during JR's and Scott's appearance on Where The Big Boys Play that made JR miss the discussion of the last few matches of the show they were covering! = -
Wrestling in unusual contexts

With all the Seinfeld fans around here, surprised Kramer's description to, and attempt to demonstrate on George, Killer Kowalski's "Squeezing The Fat" spare tire hold during "The Parking Garage" episode hasn't been brought up. -

Oh, and for the record, and quite disturbingly, the Moore case does have a parallel to Chris Benoit. Moore attempted to kill his wife, in front of their kids, before blowing his own brains. She somehow survived. Here is an article from a few years ago detailing the Moore story: The Myth of the Home Run That Drove an Angels Pitcher to Suicide
