  1. I think there might be a Skynard outtake track of Freebird that does run the same length as this show!

    Current WWE

Yes. He said just as much when talking about it on his podcast. He'll come in when they have something intersting for him to do, such as a program with Bray Wyatt.
  3. Oh, and I'd thought there'd be a Cash fan or more on this show that would recall this ditty from the Folsom album:
  4. Really dumb that they didn't just put the whole season up there, especially when the Network only has Season 1 and the show is already on Season 3. Whoever is in charge of content, scheduling, etc. for the Network is beyond clueless. It's just been so bad, slow, and frustrating lately. I'd imagine, like with Raw/Smackdown, the deal with E! has something to do with what they can do with the show.
  5. While not a turn perse, but didn't like 80% of ECW storylines through 97 stem from Raven vs Dreamer? And I think that may have predated the nWo as a Takeover angle, or at least one that branched out into most of the stories the promotion was running at the time.
  6. -Parv, as a professor you should know the pratfalls of encyclopedic research from Britannica to Wikipedia! I've been using http://www.solie.org/titlehistories/ for title research for years. -Speaking of podcast and Place To Be Nation Turf Wars, you should reach out to Mr. Wrestling III for the show (actually be PERFECT for him to stay in the gimmick for an appearance on Titans of Wrestling now that I think of it), whom is officially endorsed by Mr. Wrestling II (who recently had a tribute show done in his honor, even though he is still living), and has a pretty good spin on the "why the mask" gimmick. A very well known heel donning a masked babyface persona to "atone" for his heelish ways throughout his career. -When Ole was turned into a defacto face after getting turfed from the Horsemen, was it actually in storylines that no one wanted to team with him because of his heelish ways (which I'd assume would go all the way back to the Dusty angle discussed on the show), or was that just joking comments made about the fact that Ole was a loner for that run as he was legit scaling back from his on screen/in ring persona?
  7. Love the running gag with Dan McGinn trying to figure out Steve's relationship with Allison Danger and American Tiger. Listen to the week when Allison was on, she had her daughter get on for a bit, but the little one almost broke kayfabe by calling Steve "Uncle" which Steve brushed off as "all wrestler's are called that by our kids!"
  8. Based in reality or rumor, the IWC backlash against 'Taker is quite ironic considering the reaction to a clean job to Lesnar over a decade later!
  9. I think WWE should rip that off now that they are trying to push Network subs. "We're out of time but you can see all the action on the WWE Network's Raw Backstage Pass!" If funny watching the show when they drop a curtain behind the set, but you hear a post Raw dark match or promo going on.
  10. As much as everyone kids Scott, love to get someone who actually is older to compare when stuff from the '50s and '60s became popular in the retro vein that JR is talking about the 80s and 90s for comparison purposes.
  11. I tweeted the show that I was trying to search for Super 8 on the internet, nothing extreme just basic searching on Google for like "Philadelphia Spectrum wrestling fan Super 8 home videos 1970s" and such and thought that it would make for an interesting documentary for something like High Spots. In other words, the story would be ostensibly trying to find, or get info about this super fan, but be more about the Philly wrestling fans of that era, and how it grew into the core fanbase of ECW in the 1990s.
  12. I'd be shocked if anything that specific about current storylines and situations are discussed actually.
  13. A ZERO EPISODE! Is this a comic book podcast now?
  14. Yes, Austin mentioned that in his book, that he'd like to speak on it but legally can't. Also from time to time Austin has said he's done some bad things in his life. Unless there is some shit pre-wrestling that no one knows about, I'd be sure that is what he is referring to.
  15. Not to mention Adam Copeland has a serenic property away from it all that he lives on, and seamlessly transitoned himself into his post-WWE career without too much of a "what the fuck do I do now" down time and getting himself photographed by everyone hoping for a TMZ/Deadspin payday.
  16. To be fair, its really more of a covert organization/military thing. So its not that much of a D'OH *face palm* thing.
  17. Good point, especially if they are a bit off or more in terms of social interactions. Which you'd imagine would be a good number of adults (and teens as well, basicall pass the age that society deems wrestling, comics and that sort of stuff as appropriate to have as a serious hobby) who are into fighting sports, predetermined (rasslin), legit (MMA, boxing) or self defense/excersise (martial arts).
  18. Kevin Kelly once said the tapes literally were sent unorganized and in cardboard boxes.
  19. IIRC there were polls over at the website.
  20. I know since these countdowns are voted through WWE website but still I just have a hard time with him being second. Like over HHH who has been pushed down everyone's throat as a big bad guy over the years? DiBiase completely blows away this guy as a heel. He was so good in his role that he never had a face run in WWF. Considering The Freebirds made the tag list, I'm surprised Flair didn't make this list, and he still had his heel shoes on for a little while during his second WWF/WWE run. Obviously they filmed some of this with newer footage, but how long ago was the voting? I wonder if the time in between the actual vote and the airing including his leaving, and hence finagling the positioning is almost an olive branch of sorts?
  21. Especially considering Bischoff's on screen character. Remember him trying to order an expensive martini at that Texas dive during a skit where he was searching for Austn. Then being disgusted at settling for a cheep beer.
  22. Should I be amazed that the Holiday Inn in Philly's Sports Complex is still around, considering that The Vet and Spectrum are long gone, and constant changeover hotel chains usually go through.
  23. There was an issue with something to do with athletic commissions or fees for putting on performances in the state of New Jersey that wouldn't be settled until the next Gubernatorial reign. The WWF wouldn't be back in NJ until SummerSlam 1997.
  24. Double post, sorry.
