  1. They were a house show pairing in December/January and there's a March Worldwide match on Youtube. There's also that Clash match where Luger hit the clothesline right off the bat and pinned him. Sid just reinforces Matt's comment about the steroid trial, that's a lot of juiced up beef (but also loaded with charisma and star quality).
  2. Warrior on the moon would have been awesome, but interested to see what happens since he's on the same roster as Sting. Friendly reminder, we're close to starting round 4 once Jetlag makes his picks, so if you're one the first four or five people picking in the round and know you won't have access to check and make a pick during the next few hours, please consider leaving a proxy pick with someone so we can keep things moving along.
  3. I was a bit surprised he was still there at the start of round 3. Let's see if we can make it to round 5 today.
  4. With my next pick, I select Rick Rude 1992. Lowblow is on the clock.
  5. My second pick is Barry Windham 1988. I believe gordi is now on the clock.
  6. I'm looking at this as if it were like Marvel's Contest of Champions, so go with whatever option you want. I think I've finally decided on my next course of action, hopefully it's still on the table when my pick comes.
  7. Where we goofed was not sending a pm during the weekend to make sure everyone knew we were starting on Monday morning. But once we get through the first round I'm hoping it'll pick up, since everybody should be aware and on notice then.
  8. Really like how the picks are going, Grimmas showing the Tenta love is great. I really like Beast's pick, really great year that may have flown a bit under the radar.
  9. Aw man, somebody more focused on Mexico (with a show actually from Mexico) would have been great. One possible way of integrating Elliot is sticking him last in round 1, first in round 2, then for the remaining odd number rounds generate a random number between 1 and 14. You'd place him in that spot for that round, then place him in the equivalent spot for the event round snake order.
  10. Has anyone DM'd joeg make sure he knows we're live and it's his turn? I think almost everyone had checked in at some point the past few days.
  11. Sorry for the delay, I was all set to draft then realized the clocks were set back an hour (so 8AM my time was now 7AM Eastern). And then while waiting for it to be 8 my battery ran out. Here's hoping we get at least two rounds in today. And man was it a tough decision who to pick.
  12. With the first pick of the draft, I select Hulk Hogan - 1988. Jetlag is on the clock.
  13. Yeah, Beast's explanation makes me see that committing to the year is more fair for everyone. Alright then, see you guys at 8am.
  14. With less than 12 hours to go, hope everybody's having fun trying to finalize any potential draft board plan. I have a question. As I'm looking at the wrestlers I'm finding they're falling into three groups: those that I know what year version I want to use, those that I have no idea what year to use, and those that the year I'd use will depend on who else I draft. Do we have to commit to the year when we draft or do we have a window to change the year up to when the draft ends (after which all years are final and every wrestler must have a year assigned)? What do you guys feel would be best?
  15. It's quite the challenge, not only who to pick first but in trying to set up a potential plan since my second pick is at the end of Round 2. But them's the breaks, just have to figure out how I want to play it.
  16. November 6th. I can always proxy for you if need be at that point. That works, if the draft is still going on at that point I'll set up a proxy. Now back to figuring out who the heck to pick first.
  17. What's the start date we're aiming for? I'm going to be without communication from Nov. 13 to 18.
  18. I'd prefer 88-92 as the date range. Have we decided what regions would be included for the pool?
  19. For tag teams I would think that you should take into account if the team was a notable chunk of the time period we're going to use. In the case of the Twin Towers and Skyscrapers the tag teams are a blip on the radar for the members. In other cases, you have teams like Eaton/Lane, Enos/Bloom, the Steiners, LOD, etc. are teams where a notable chunk of the members time was in the team. I'd even say the Rockers should be eligible as a team because that's a 4 year period of the year range being considered. I think a list should be made or at least people should bring up teams in order to determine if they're eligible to be drafted as one. The other thing I'd suggest is that if you draft a tag team it's the same year for both members.
  20. If it's just drafting and doing one big show I'd be interested in taking part.
  21. As opposed to North Americans who I'm not sure saw him in context lobbying for him not to go in? With Don Owen, he ran smaller buildings, but didn't he own them? Did that yield a better profit for him? I fi were running a business and could make more with less people I'm not sure that's a bad thing. Which of the non-wrestlers are modern and which are historical? I always get confused with that a vote for a non-wrestler counts as a vote in the specific era pool.
  22. I still believe that you could do a Pacific others group (which is what we currently have other than Africa) and an Atlantic others group. Hopefully someone from Mexico makes it in (if more than one even better). Interested in seeing how the Japan vote shakes out for purely perverse entertainment reasons. I'm already mentally preparing for no one from Mexico making it while Ibushi and Naito go sailing in. What's the cutoff for inclusion in modern US? We're already at 25 years since you could say JYD, Slaughter and Kerry were any sort of relevant drawing card. Tully and Arn as a tag team as well. Heck, we're about 5 months away from it being 25 years since Kerry von Erich passed away. At the same time, historical looks a bit bloated, may be due to the addition of those that have passed.
  23. Thanks everyone. My situation seems completely mild compared to the absolutely horrible situations I'm hearing on the radio of what is happening in a lot of other places in Puerto Rico. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it's basically Mad Max in certain places. I don't know what information is getting out there, but things are really dire in various towns. I'll hopefully be able to check in from time to time as the battery permits. Here's hoping things can improve a bit so people stop going crazy.
  24. I finally got a communication signal and I wanted to let you guys know I'm alright. P.S. Sorry for posting this in this folder, didn't know where else it would fit but wanted to let anyone worried know.

True, but with tickets on sale and selling almost thee to four months before you have even one match announced (due to travel arrangements people make), how much of an issue would it be at this moment? In the long run it'll affect the luster of the event if the matches aren't up to the standards expected, but in the short term I don't think it'll affect it too much yet.
